We purchased this for out 2015 trailer, which did not have any USB/cigarette outlets for "modern charging devices". Works great. Had a friend help install, since RV wiring is CRAZY.

I think this is going to serve my needs. I’m adding this to my enclosed 7 x 14 trailer. Last year I installed etrailer's 80 watt solar panel and controller. Now my battery is fully charged and I can charge my phone!

Added additional charging station in my RV. Exact match to factory installed one in bedroom. Biggest issue in install is finding a 12 volt power source to tie into. Has to be continously fed. Added at island in kitchen and powered it from the slide out switches and worked perfectly.
Cigarette lighter port has no power,so half of the charging device is useless

That is a bummer that the cigarette lighter port is not working for you. Did it work in the beginning and now it does not? How is it wired in the back?

Thanks for getting back to me. To answer your questions,it is wired correctly and directly to the battery with separate inline fuse. It has power at the the socket but is very sloppy and doesnt seem to make contact. I didnt check it after installation,but should have.I really hadnt planned on using that port much,just thought it would be nice if I needed it. Guess what? I needed it on my first camping trip of the season,Im going to try and bend the negative tabs to try and get a better connection.

I did hear back from the manufacturer and the only suggestion that they have would be to replace the 12 volt socket. It is part # 37215105 on our site.
nicely made. not to big. works great.
Installed two in my RV, 1 year ago. Easy to install, and looks clean because of the plastic shroud on the front. This provides plenty of overlap if your cut isn't perfect. This gives a more professional look than some of the cheaper cigarette plugs available. Will buy this again if I need more DC outlets.
I love this product to charge my phone and run my CAPAP over night. I have a 12 vdc power cord to run the CAPAP. The charging station is by my side of the bed. This supports drydocking without shore power.
Matched the charging station perfectly to the factory station my Jayco trailer came with. Wanted one on both night stands in our bed room.

Bought because appeared on of the USB connectors was powerless, but that was not true. So did not need as installed one worked.
This is the exact same unit that was broken in my 5th wheel. I found it easily on this web site and it was delivered on time.
One year later still going strong. I live in the RV during the summer and use the USB outlets every night
This is device that I needed. Not difficult to hookup. I am surprised that the two types of ports are not wired together, they need the same connection, for the cost they should be connected to simplify the install.
It worked since installed the past year.
