Secure, Two-Piece Jaw

Q24 Two-Piece Jaw

Unlike slide-bar models, the rounded, two-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

Three-Point Indicator System

Get peace of mind with Curt's color-coded lock indicator. Just look at the indicator - either the one on the handle or the one on the hitch itself - to determine whether the jaw is in the correct position to uncouple (red), couple (yellow) or tow (green).

Q24 Color Indicator System

360-Degree Pivot

Curt's unique spherical axial bearing provides a durable pivot point that allows easy, 360-degree movement of the hitch head. This ball joint is designed for smooth, quiet operation with less clunking and chucking.

R24 Slider

Most often used on trucks with 6' and 6-1/2' beds, this roller helps to eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns. When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, at slow speeds you can use a roller to slide the fifth-wheel hitch (and the trailer) toward your truck's tailgate and past the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less-restricted turning.

Non-Binding Design

The round-tube design of this slider allows for relatively uninhibited movement of your fifth-wheel hitch. Because your hitch can glide smoothly and easily along the rods, there is less chance of binding.

With straight, flat contact points, as found with square-tube sliders, tension can build between the slider and the hitch when your truck and trailer are somewhat out of line or are on uneven ground. As a result, it can be difficult to properly activate the slider when your truck and trailer are not in a straight line.

With a round-tube slider, there is more give between the contacting surfaces, allowing better mobility of the hitch system. Fewer corners means less tension buildup. Activating a round-tube slider is easier, and operation as a whole is smoother.

Video Transcript for Comprehensive Review: Curt R24 Round Tube Slider for Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches

Today we're going to review part number C16570. This is the Curt R24 Round Tube Slider for the Curt Q24 Fifth Wheel trailer hitch. This does have 12 inches of travel. For demonstration purposes I do have the slider mounted on some base rails in the mounting brackets on the side. This is just for demonstration, to show you what it looks like in your vehicle. The base rails and the mounting brackets would be sold separately for your vehicle. This slider will help provide clearance which is required for your short bed pick-up to turn safely at slow speeds.

It will help prevent the trailer from hitting the cab of your pick-up during those sharp, slow speed turns. What happens is, this slider will move your hitch 12 inches to the rear or towards the tailgate and give you that extra clearance. This is designed to work with the Curt Q24 Fifth Wheel trailer hitch which is rated at 24,000 lbs. It does slide smoothly on these rounded non-binding rods. This is designed for use on trucks with beds shorter than eight feet and it's not recommended for use on beds that are shorter than six feet.

This will mount to industry standard rails made by Curt, Draw Tite, Hidden Hitch, Pro Series, Reese or Valley. It is constructed of a durable carbide powder coated steel. The gross towing weight capacity on this is 24,000 lbs. Again, the amount of travel is 12 inches front to back. It does include the four pins and clips which are used to hold the slider to the rails. It also includes these four rubber sound dampeners.

Basically what those are used for, you can see it has a little square cut out in it. It's made to fit the tab on the slider so when you go to put these in you stick these up onto where the tab is so when you drop the tab into the rail it will give you this piece of rubber between the slider and the rail. Itll eliminate . It's a sound dampener so it helps eliminate any noises. I do just want to demonstrate how this slider would work. Right now it is in the locked towing position.

The way you can tell that is you'll see this green, let me just turn this a little bit. On the end of this rod you can see there's a green line that's showing. That means it's locked, ready to tow. What you want to do is if you pull into a campsite and you want to maneuver it into a maneuvering position you want to move it the 12 inches. You just pull the handle out and then turn it a little bit counter-clockwise and that'll move that tab towards the rear of the vehicle. What will happen is when this slides, you see these notches right here in the rods. When this slides and it hits those notches you can see that it's no longer, it's not showing red over here. It is showing green so it is locked in the maneuvering position. Now when you're done maneuvering and you want to go back into the towing position, same way. All you have to do is move your handle, pull it out and just move it towards the clockwise position, the opposite. Put said tab pointing that way. Again, it's showing red, which means it's unlocked. It's not showing green. If this goes back to the towing position you can see it hits those notches, slides the handle in automatically, no red showing. The green is showing so again you're locked in the towing position. Very simple arrangement. That should do it for the review on part number C16570, the Curt R24 Round Tube Slider for the Curt Q24 Fifth Wheel trailer hitch with the 12 inches of travel. .

This Q25 is solid and heavy duty, I installed myself without any issues..I’m excited to pick up my new 5th wheel toy hauler in couple days…I’m happy with my purchase, I know it’s going to hold up for many camping trips to come.

by:

Showed up just in time to install and cross a few states to pick up our 1st new 5th wheel. Easy installation and showed up a few days early.

by:

The product shipped and was received in a timely manner. The installation went very good, took me about 3 1/2 hours to install. Instructions were easy to understand. The installation kit came with many extra parts so I wasn't worried about missing parts. Items are very heavy so be careful lifting. The drillbit needed for the holes is 17/32 which is an uncommon bit to find at a hardware store. It would've been nice if the drillbit was included in the kit. I did find one at a local hardware store for $6.35. By the time I was done drilling my last hole the drillbit is now useless, burned the tip out and last hole was hard to finish. When I first started my measurements I didn't realize the truck model at the top of the page and initially measured for a GMC, but I own a tundra. I was thankful my wife came in and was talking with me and disrupted the job. After she left is when I realized I measured for the wrong vehicle. Double check everything before drilling. Very good product and would definitely recommend it to another person.

by:

Overall very happy with my Curt 5th wheel 24k hitch. I’m happy it came in pieces because of the weight totally assembled. Release spring for the slide is pretty stiff but I wouldn’t want it disengaging while driving down the road. Thanks for all your help Justin and your prompt service.

THE Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R24 Slider - Dual Jaw - 24,000 lbs. WAS EASY TO ORDER AND CAME PROMPLTY. INSTRUCTIONS WERE VERY EASY TO READ WHICH MADE INSTALLATION SIMPLE AND EASY.

by:

Heavy duty and construction seems good. The slider handle will be tuff to use since the bed wall is so close and the spring is strong, not to mention the lack of room once a trailer is on there (possible re-design needed). Also wish it came with a few varying rubber shims that go under the assembly. The ones that came with it wont fit and without anything, it is metal to metal and a little sloppy. Other than that, I think it will work good and last a long time...

by:

BOXES WERE DEMOLISHED

by:

Love my fifth wheel on time delivery

by:

Everything from description to shipping was perfect

by:

Three concerns/issues. One, is that my truck sits so high up in the air, (Dodge Power Wagon) that when I was hauling the trailer I had so many issues with swaying. If you tow behind is not fairly level this will happen. It took a long time to figure this out. Might want to pass this along to other customers

Two. Should the white disc go between the hitch and the tow behind as a protective disc?

Three. on pull behinds there are chains or cables in the event that the trailer unhooks from the hitch ball. There are no safety cables or chains for a fifth wheel. How come? Just inquiring.

by:

Like most customers the box was in really bad shape when it arrived. Everything was still together and not damaged. Received 2 of 3 boxes, contacted customer service since I needed the rail system for the rest of the assembly to mount on and they promised the rails would arrive the next day. I'm trusting they will get here. The Curt fifth wheel slider hitch is built substantially well and is impressive, cannot wait to hook up!

by:

I haul campers for a living and this hitch has worked great, no issues, great hitch for the money. The only thing I have done is add a teflon plate to the head so I dont have to grease the fifth wheel

by:

I did my research & saw excellent reviews for the Curt products. I was looking for a 16 locally but none were in stock & none could be available before I left to get our fifth wheel. So I had a 20 shipped to our destination which arrived a day earlier than expected. We had it installed & drove it back home—almost 2000 miles. It handled rough roads, construction zones & road work, and unexpected snow storms with ease. I am very happy with our unit & would strongly recommend Curt products.

by:

Have not used it yet, just put it together. The hitch is easy to operate and built very well. Only issues I have are the pieces are heavy and not sure if they can be packed any other way. UPS must have dropped one of the pieces because one of the boxes was shredded, the other had holes in it and some of the hardware was poking through the box. Great hitch all in all.

by:

Great customer service! Thanks again

by:

Hitch is very heavy duty. Easy to install with the help of a friend. Have not had a chance to use it yet but will be this weekend.

by:

Good looking product. etrailer stayed in touch with me regarding the delivery. And there it was, sitting on my door step when I came home several days earlier then expected.

by:

Works as intended. A little noisy as the hitch’s has some slop from the slider.

by:

Our first fifth wheel hitch, but no stranger to trailers. This had excellent build quality and installation instructions. Fit and finish is spot on. Best part it fits in My 2014 F250 with my diesel Aux tank with zero issues.

by:

This was over kill for me, I always order things more heavy duty than advertised, because they always come as a lesser quality, but not this Time. It was much more heavy duty. My 5th wheel is 14,500 # so it's not
Lightweight but this thing tows my 5th wheel like it's not even there, and it got here in less than 3 full days! I'm very impressed!

by:

Poor and wrong instructions. Had to grind bracket. Had to heat and twist one bracket. Bolts to long. Had to cut. Finally got installed and it should be fine. I wanted to get the custom kit but it was gonna take about five weeks to get. If I had known it was gonna be this hard to install I would have waited.

by:

Best fifth wheel hitch ever

by:

Super good quality hitch haven't installed this one just yet but will send pictures once installed. Jaime B. was super awesome to work with she new the products and helped me greatly. Awesome job Jaime. Thank You!!!!

by:

Easy install. Works like a charm. This is the best hitch I have owned.

by:

Easy trouble free connect and disconnect. Quiet while traveling.

  • How To Determine if Curt A16 Slider Hitch will Fit Rails in Bed of 2013 Toyota Tundra
If the rails in the bed of your family member's truck like what come with the Curt kit # C16304-200 that you referenced and are 22 inches apart on center your Curt 16k slider like part # C16521 will fit and work well. These are industry standard rails which are by far the most common design of rails which nearly all manufacturers match the design of. This allows most hitch and rail kit brands to be able to swap between each other.

  • Compatibility of Anderson Ultimate 5th Wheel Connection w/ 2015 Toyota Tundra Crewmax
The Andersen Ultimate Connection you referenced, part # AM3200 isn't meant to be used in trucks with beds shorter than 6 feet. The only safe way to tow a fifth wheel with your Crewmax would be to use a standard (non sliding) fifth wheel hitch and a Reese Sidewinder installed in place of your original pin box. If you don't already have bed rails in your truck, you can install them using part # C16304-200. The hitch you'll need will depend on the weight of your fifth wheel. The non-sliding...

  • Fifth Wheel Rail Kit Part Number for 2016 Toyota Tundra Long Bed
For the 8 foot long bed versions of the 2016 Toyota Tundra Curt recommends the fifth wheel rail kit # C16304-200 as the correct fit. The # C16468-204 fits the 6-1/2 foot long bed versions of the truck only. For a hitch the Curt A16 part # C16120 is a really great option. It has a jaw design that wraps tightly to the king pin of the trailer for a smooth ride and a head that pivots quite a bit to allow for easier connection/disconnection of the hitch.

  • Does Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit # C16448 Fit 2007 Toyota Tundra with 8-Foot Bed
The Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit # C16448 that you referenced is not a fit for your 2007 Toyota Tundra with 8-foot bed, but this type of custom under-bed bracket does avoid the need to drill into a vehicle's frame. Such custom-fit brackets use existing holes in the vehicle's frame as their attachment points. For your Tundra we do offer both custom and semi-custom 5th wheel install kits. • Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendations for 2007 Toyota Tundra Long Bed
If by 'long bed' you mean an 8 foot bed, no you will not need a sliding fifth wheel hitch to tow your Cougar 27sab Xlite. However, if you have the 6-1/2 foot bed, you would indeed need a sliding hitch like the # 16516 Curt E16 fifth wheel hitch w/ slider you mentioned. The non-sliding version of the E16 is part # C16115. This being said, the E16 uses a slide bar type jaw that will allow the fifth wheel's king pin to rattle and bang around in the hitch. A LOT.
