Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this PullRite OEX SuperLite 5th-Wheel Hitch. Now, this hitch has been designed to fit your 2010 and newer Ford F-250, F-350, and F-450 Super Duties with the OEM prep package. And on custom fit parts such as this hitch, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide. Enter the year, make and model of your vehicle, and our fit guide will confirm if this will work for you, or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now, this 5th-Wheel hitch is going to mount into your Super Duty's truck bed.
So you can tow your fifth wheel trailer. And this is going to work with the factory-installed, 5th-wheel OEM prep package from Ford. Now, you might be wondering why should you consider a PullRite hitch Well, the PullRite OEX line are uniquely designed to give you more options. So if you prefer a different coupling method down the road after you've had this for a while, this is going to give you the ability to swap out this head without the cost of buying a completely new hitch. For instance, you could swap this included head out for the more traditional PullRite Super 5th-Wheel head that you see there on your screen, again, without investing in a completely new hitch.
So this head is going to be easily removable by just removing the pin and clip here at the center, and that's going to allow you to lift this out and then you can swap it out with that different head if you so desire. Now, this hitch is made here in the USA from high-quality, American steel with a black, powder coat finish that's going to help resist rust and corrosion. And this is SAE J2638-tested to a gross towing weight of 25,000 pounds and a vertical load limit of 6,250 pounds. But this is one of the lightest 205K hitches on the market today. These OEX hitches are relatively lightweight with a lifting weight of about 85 pounds.
Now, this uniquely designed interchangeable coupler assembly is going to give you enough rearward offset to be the second best solution for a short bed truck. The best solution, of course, is a slider hitch, but this SuperLite combined with the SuperLite king pin adapter that you see here at the front of my table here, working together, these are going to give you an additional 7-1/2 inches rearward offset. And this also has a vertical height adjustment from 16-3/4 inches all the way up to 19-1/4 inches to allow you to make your fifth wheel as level as possible with your tow vehicle. Now, let me give you an overhead view briefly. I do wanna point out that what's really nice about this setup is this does not require any adapters, any rails or tools to install or remove in and out of the bed of your truck.
This is going to install quickly and easily and remove quickly and easily. And when you remove this, you're gonna have a clean, open bed for hauling. So it's not going to take up any permanent storage space in your truck bed when, after you're done using it. You can take this out and your truck bed will basically return to normal to allow you to haul. Now, this is going to install and remove into your four receiver pucks into the bed of your truck. There's not gonna be any binding, unlike other OE puck systems. And this is going to, those pucks, as you know, are built into your factory underbed rails, and it's going to secure this in place. And these removable top mounted mounting posts are what is going to secure this base into that puck system into the bed of your truck. So lemme go ahead and just give you a brief demonstration of how this is going to work. I'm gonna remove this bale pin here and when you are ready to mount this into that puck system, you're going to move these handles outward, and that's going to allow this to drop right into the puck system. And then once you have these dropped into the pucks, you're just going to turn the handle that way, and that's gonna secure it in place. Let me give you a closeup view here just so you can see what's going on down here. So when I rotate that handle, you can see at this position, it's ready to drop into the puck and then when you have it at this position, that's going to secure it into that puck system. And so, this is going to be very easy to install and remove. And again, these posts are removable in case that will work better for you to get this over the pucks first and then drop these into place to secure them. So very easy to use, very easy to install. Now, this does feature a unique two-piece design that's going to allow for fast and easy coupling. This coupler is going to bolt. This coupler right here is going to bolt around the king pin of your trailer. It's going to create a new connection point and the open funnel on the hitch head is gonna make it very easy for that ball, to guide that ball right into that coupler. Now, let me go ahead and see if I can give you a brief demonstration. Obviously, I don't have this connected to my a trailer or anything like that, but I just wanna show you how this is going to drop in. So I do have this coupler open. I do have the latch open and so, you're just gonna be able to (clangs) guide that right into the funnel and then to secure the latch, I'm just gonna give this a turn (clangs) like that and then it's secured in place, and let me just show that to you there. (coupler clanging) So it's secured in place and then let me go ahead and open this latch back up and give it a turn there. And then that will allow this to then uncouple just like that. So this is gonna be very easy. This coupler here is gonna be very easy to adapt around your king pin, put that around your king pin, and that'll give you that new connection point. I did also wanna point out that this does include this remote latch handle that's designed to reach that release latch from a lowered tailgate. So you've got some different options there on how you can use that remote latch handle. So if you are looking for a lighter weight 25K 5th-Wheel hitch that's going to drop into your Ford Super Duty's factory puck system and give you an additional coupling and give you additional coupling options down the road after you've had this for a while, this is really going to be a great option for you to consider. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Designed for super-easy hookup - ball adapter bolts over your king pin and drops into the easy-to-see hitch head funnel. When you're done towing, just pop the hitch out to free up your truck bed - only weighs 85 lbs! Made in the USA.Very easy to install, decent weight for one person to carry and an absolute "most" for hitching on uneven terrain and/or if you are by yourself. You get the benefits of a full articulating ball thus the trailer will do its motions with some freedom (yaw and roll). Lastly, and perhaps the most importantly, a great ratio of turn with a short bed without requiring an sliding hitch.
Some of the drawbacks are: noticeable chucking but once you get up to speed it gets better. A little bit of a pain to put chains (I live in TX and chains are required for gooseneck style) - here PullRite sort of leaves you with no instructions on how or where to install it, rota-flex hitches will required to install a locking device, and there are not padlocks for the ball. One recommendation is to have the wrenches for removing the ball from the 5th wheel hitch if you get stranded, most wreckers do not have a way to attach a ball looking down - may also happen at the dealership.
Do you have a question about this 5th Wheel Hitch?
