- A-Frame Coupler Recommendation for 14k TrailerRam couplers are solid couplers that as long as you stay under the capacity of them they will work great. I would not recommend a 12.5k coupler on a 14k trailer though. Instead you'd want to go with a coupler with a 15k capacity like the part # CA-5280-RB instead. This will give you the angle. The overall height of the piece that fits over the frame was about 3-7/8" while the inner height (where it site on the frame) measured about 3-1/4".
