Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a quick look at this Replacement Remote Coupler Engagement Cable System for your Ranch Hitch Adapter. This remote cable system for the Ranch Hitch 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Coupler Adapter is going to let you engage and release the coupler while standing alongside your truck rather than climbing into the bed to do so. So just to give you a brief demonstration of how this is going to work, and it's a little bit difficult to hold this in place because of the tension of this cable. So hopefully this will kind of give you an idea of how this works. So I just flip this over to the other side so you can see that in operation there. So again, it's going to give you that remote access, that functionality, then you twist the handle to lock it, and you'll be good to go.
So this is going to work with Ranch Hitch 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Coupler Adapters, both straight and offset models using the four bolt plate. The four bolt plate is part of the second Ranch Hitch Universal Adapter Series, and has four bolts on the box where the cable enters the unit near the coupler. This is made here in the USA, and it includes everything that you see here, the replacement cable system with the four bolt plate. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today. Part was exactly what I wanted. Overall great product and service. I will use this compant again.
The price was lower than other stores offering the same item (same as manufacture suggested price). The item got here a day earlier than estimated and looks to be the same quality as the part being replaced.

Was the perfect replacement for my broken cable on my coupler. Easy to install and a year later still works perfect!
The reason why the original cable quit working was because the set screw that holds the wire loosened up, allowing the wire to disconnect, causing the system to fail in the locked position. This prevented us from getting the trailer off of the truck. I would suggest that you find a way to prevent the set screw from loosening up (locktite)?
Regarding the replacement part, the mounting bracket was different from the original and no new mounting bracket attaching screws were shipped. Additional help would be to also include the (4) bolts with washers to attach the box cover.

I’m sure the part works fine but don’t waste your money trying to get the parts overnighted. I ordered at 4am on the 16th a Thursday hoping to get it on Friday or Saturday night.
It came on Monday the 20th. I paid XXXfor a XX$ part. Thanks for nothing etrailer. I kinda needed that in a hurry.

I received the the ranch hitch part in a very timely time frame.
