Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the replacement base for the B&W Companion OEM fifth wheel trailer hitch for the Ford Super Duty trucks. This has a 25,000 pound weight capacity. This is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2011 and newer Ford F250, F350, and F450 Super Duty trucks with the eight foot bed, and the factory rail kit. And on a custom fit part, I aways like to recommend for you to go to our website, use our fit guide. Put in your year and model vehicle it'll show you if this'll work for your application.Now this replacement base will fit the B&W Companion OEM fifth wheel trailer hitch, part number BWRVK3305, which we do sell separately on our website. The base here will have adjustable pivot arms.
This'll let you mount the hitch head to fit your application. And when you mount these pivot arms to the base, you can put them in a position to where you can move the arms fore or aft for improved cab clearance. Basically, if you mount them one way, it'll put your king pin three inches in front of the axle. If you turn it around, mount them the other way, it'll get your king pin one inch in front of the axle. So about two inch, fore and aft measurement.Also, when you mount these on, is a different height settings, the hitch height settings.
When you bolt these on, there's five rows of holes in the base. So when you bolt these on, you can raise or lower your three different hitch height settings. Basically, you can set it 16-3/4 inches, 17-3/4 inches, or 18-3/4 inches. And the hitch height is critically, because when you go to tow, you want to be as level as possible.If you notice on the top of these pivot arms, they do have the nice polyurethane bushings that your head'll sit in. That'll offer a nice rattle free ride.
Now to install this into your vehicle, it's a very quickly, simply installation. Basically, all you have to do is drop this into the four receiver pucks that are built into your Ford factory under bed rails. And you do that just by removing this pin and clip, rotating out these handles 90 degrees, and that'll rotate the tabs right there.And you'll do this on each side. Once they're open, just drop them into the pucks. Once they fall into the pucks, rotate your handles back, and that'll lock those tabs into your receiver pucks on your vehicle.
And then just for extra security, you need to just run the pin right through both of the handles. Once you get it run through, clip it, and that locks it into place. So it's very simple installation, and removal.If you notice, has a nice gray powder coat finish to it, for corrosion resistance. It is all steel construction. This part is made in the USA. Again, the specs on this base is gross towing weight capacity of 25,000. And the tongue weight capacity of 6,250 pounds. The fit into the F450 was not so good. 3 of the pucks went in like a glove the 4th would not seat into the Factory puck. Had to force it into place. It's going to be very hard to remove it from the truck at a later date. I don't remove it to often maybe 4 times a year.
B & W make great products and e-trailer shipped very fast, unfortunately UPS delivered the product with a very damaged package and with a few scratches on the hitch.
Owned a 20K B&W 5th wheel hitch RVK3500 for my old truck that had the Turnover ball mounting system. New bigger truck has puck system. Did some research and found that the head was interchangeable. So rather that buying an entirely new hitch, I bought this base. Dropped it in and I am away.
The unit arrived quickly and appears solidly built. Unfortunately the bolts to attach the uprights were not include nor were any instructions
So easy to install. Wife and I installed this puck hitch on our 2015 Ford F-450 in twenty minutes.
The hitch is good but the packaging is poor, it showed up on time but the box was ripped with holes in it so the hitch paint was scratched and chipped.

Oh no! I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you. I recommend touching it up with a rust resistant paint like Rustoleum. It will help protect now and in the future.
I'm impressed with the ease of installing and removing the hitch. I previously had the slider version of the hitch in a different truck. Comparitively this hitch will allow me to still use the truck bed when not towing due to the easy removal and a smaller footprint. The hitch has the same sturdy construction that I accustomed to seeing on B&W products. I like knowing that I have a good margin on the max tow capacity. I'm using the hitch in a 2019 Ford F350 Diesel towing a 40 foot and 14,000 pound 5th wheel trailer.
Easy to install and remove if you need the truck bed. Great quality product.

B&W make a great reliable product. This is my second product froM B&W. I will not use any other manufacture moving forward.
Upgraded from a 20000 gross base to 25000. Old head fit perfectly on the new base. Puck system also fit with out adjustment. E-trailer and B&W reps were very helpful.
Fast delivery and easy ordering process. Price was very competitive as well
This turned my 20k B&W hitch into the 25k hitch I needed for my new, heavier trailer. Etrailer’s service was also fantastic as usual.
