As a retired machinist, I impressed with the functionality and quality of this made in the USA product. I'm adapting this to fit my 2019 Mercedes Sprinter Cab Chassis to pull my 5th wheel. I'll end up with a 7' flatbed and a 7' sleeper cab !

by:

Fit right in the bracket that was already installed on my F250. Everything works as expected and seems to be pretty well built. Kudos to etrailer for fast shipping and great customer service.

by:

A perfect start for a custom hitch setu p.

by:

Easy bolt up to existing brackets. Honestly the paint prep could be a touch better but overall I would buy another one from this site

by:

Great part, good price and quick shippi ng.

by:

I use this hitch with two trailers , so I disconnect/connect often. And, I turnover the ball as the truck hauls other products. The holes all lined up perfect and the welds are clean. A very fine quality product.
etrailer ordering and tracking was quick and easy.

Thank you.

by:

I told you I would send pictures of it done. Here yah go. If a dumb redneck can figure it out I think anyone can, lol

by:

Nicole with etrailer really pulled through for us. Needed a new B&W gooseneck hitch plate and she was able to get it to me the next day!!! really helped us keep our operations running without a long downtime. Great experience. Thank you so much for the help, punctuality, and overall pleasant experience.

by:

Excellent service as always! Fast shipping even better!

by:

This was a replacement for my old one, good price works great. Thanks for the support and for being so helpful.

Great Love it took away the jerking of my fith wheel

by:

Etrailer has done it again. Great product also a price lower than anybody else. Product was shipped and received same week. Customer service is some of the best in the business. I will definitely be shopping with them in the future.

by:

Quality product in a timely manner for a decent price. I tried to paint the turn over ball to reduce the risk of corrosion. Only to learn the tolerance in the socket is to tight to allow for the thickness of paint....

by:

Good quick service. Received exactly the replacement part I needed and I had it within 48 hours.

by:

finally a company that had the part, shipped it quickly and the customer service was outstanding.

Great hitch! I'm a pretty avid do it yourselfer so I did the install myself and it was relatively simple. The directions that came with the hitch had all the information I needed. It works well with my trailer and the quality seems to be pretty good. It's pretty low profile while you're not using it as well. Overall very happy with it. A couple of install notes for squarebody Chevy, GMC trucks which is what I installed mine on: You will need to lift the bed off the frame just enough to slide the hitch between the bed floor and the top of the frame rails so if your truck is rusty like mine, you may want to have new bed mount hardware on hand before you start in case you have to cut the old bolts to get them out. Also, the safety chain loops land right on the ridges in the bed floor so they don't recess completely flush even when they're not in use but so far it hasn't been a problem for me. I saw that mentioned in some other reviews on here so I already knew before I bought the hitch.

by:

Installation was straight forward and it's well built. Works smoothly. etrailer was awesome as usual with shipping and service.
However.... ;) on the BWGNRK1400 for '73-'87 GM trucks, the predrilled holes in the hitch for the safety chain u-bolts are 6-1/4" each way from center of the ball. This places the matching holes you have to drill in the truck bed on the sloped edge of the ribs, not in the center of the valley as intended. The instructions read as if the holes are not pre-drilled but they are, so I contacted B&W and asked if I can drill new holes at 8-3/4" each way of the ball so that they center in the next valley and they said no, that will void the warranty. So I had to do some bodywork, cut, weld and grind to scallop the ribs around the anchors to they won't always be sticking up (defeating the flat floor intent of this hitch design). I saw guy on [online] noted this was an issue on his squarebody bed as well.
B&W needs to look at this dimension for future installations to help out the next guy.

Overall this Installation went as I anticipated, 4-5 hours; it's not for an unprepared amateur. I strongly recommend watching the Installation Video, but more importantly, disconnecting the wiring harness (from both sides, there's 3 connectors) that cross over the rear cross member above the Differential. Disconnecting the rear exhaust was a MUST DO for us (my son helped me) as is a second person. Patience was our friend during this entire Installation for both of us. The brake line that crosses over to the passenger side was of concern to me, and got in the way as well; in the end it is below this entire installation. However there is a Mount Block on the driverside that creates a problemwith getting one bolt into place; a "Fishing Spring" (spring wire that wraps around the threads with long tail to fish/thread/pull thru the hole) would have helped to get this into place. (SEE PICTURE) Once in place the head is able to be held with a narrow spanked wrench while tightening. The rear center bolt is a HUGE challenge to reach once everything is in place and you're torquing things to spec.I had to purchase a "3/4" Crowsfoot" to get this and some of the others because of things blocking access with a socket (not talked about in the video or Installation Video). Once everything is in place and Reconnecting electrical plugs we found that there was enough gap/spacebehind the Kit Rear Cross Bar, over the vehicle rear cross member, to run the driver side electrical. Pay attention to have the "male" plug facing inboard to give you enough slack to reach the passenger side plug. A couple of zip-ties were needed to keep this inplace. See picture for how I routed this and the vent tube to avoid the heatshield.

I've got a 26 foot Keystone Cougar 5th wheel RV Trailer that I be using this, along with an Andersen 3217 hitch. With this B&W Hitch I don't have the 5th wheel Rails across the bed full-time anymore of my 2022 Ram 1500DT 4x4.

Installation was very easy. Everything lined up perfectly. I did not need the inner brackets. I have a 2019 Ford f250 platinum. Absolutely amazing. Another great B and W hitch!!

  • Recommended Heavy Duty Gooseneck Hitch for Flatbed Truck
There is a gooseneck trailer hitch you can use on your flatbed truck but the B&W # BWGNRC800 you referenced is not designed for this purpose, it is for standard trucks. Instead, the gooseneck hitch I recommend that will work for your flatbed is the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Flatbed Trucks # BWGNRK1500. This hitch is designed to be used with 1/8 inch floor plates and will require welding it onto your truck and cutting a 4 inch hole in the bed. This hitch has...

  • B and W Release Pin Won't Budge
If using a lubricant does not help to release the hitch pin, you might have to loosen the bolts on the center section and remove it from the vehicle to get better access. Check the track the hitch pin moves on for any signs of dirt or corrosion. If there is, you can try cleaning the parts with a wire brush. If you still can't get the turnover ball removed, you can switch out the center plate with a new one, such as # BWGNRC800. I would recommend this approach as there's no guarantee that...

  • Estimated Professional Installation Time for B&W Gooseneck Trailer Hitch on 1998 Dodge Ram 2500
First, B and W gooseneck hitch # BWGNRC800 is just the hitch. You will also need an installation kit that fits your 1998 Dodge Ram 2500. For the installation kit and the hitch together use # BWGNRK1394. When we install gooseneck trailer hitches here we take the whole day because we also film the installation. • Goose Neck Hitch Frame Width Needed For A Ford F-550 Cab And Chassis
I contacted B&W direct here and they do not have a direct bolt up kit for the 2017 Ford F-550 Cab and Chassis truck as they have a much narrower frame of 34" and they normally recommend that you use one of the center sections like the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRC800 and fabricate the mounting system to the frame of the Cab and Chassis. Included is a video overview of this solution for your reference.

If you have a B and W Turnover ball gooseneck hitch in your 1999 Ford F350 like part # BWGNRK1108 the correct center section would be the part # BWGNRC800 that you referenced. You might be able to hit the stuck ball in your hitch with a liberal application of lubricant several times to see if you can free it up.
