Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at this four way trailer plug holder from Bauer products. This will attach to your trailer to help keep your electrical plug out of the dirt and mud from being dragged on the ground, or sitting on the ground when you're disconnected from your vehicle. It's going to provide a very easy connection point there for your four way plug, just slides right in and out when you need it. So nice little piece to have on your trailer.It is right at, I call it about two and a half inches wide, by one and a quarter of an inch tall. Very easy to get installed, you'll just need to use quarter inch diameter screws, which are not included, so you'll have to provide them yourselves, but just very easily mount into the two pre molded holes there.
This is a glass filled nylon construction, so it's going to be very strong and durable, especially for what you're going to be using it for just to put that plug in place to keep it out of the dirt and off the ground.So that's going to complete our look for today. It attaches to your trailer with 1/4" diameter screws (not included).Nicely made product but the inside area where you are supposed to insert your plug to hold it in place after you have removed it from the vehicle, is way to large and it doesn't in any way hold your plug securely in place so as to keep it from dragging on the ground. I wouldn't even want to give it to anyone so I threw it in the trash.
Lesson learned I guess. Its hard to believe that before selling this item that someone didn't at least check it out to see if it would do as it is supposed to do?
In all fairness it could just be that my particular 4-way plug just doesn't happen to fit this product. But I just assumed that all (flat style) 4-way plugs are the same and therefore they should all be the same size.
I tried this holder on one other trailer that I have and got the same results.
Not the product that was expected.
Suppose to protect flat plug,but only for physical damage not from the weather.
