Ellen: Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a quick look at the Bauer Products Sun-Out RV roof vent shade. So those roof vents can let a lot of light into your RV, can heat it up, and also, it just wakes you up if there's too much light in there. So this is going to help to keep the light out, keep our RV nice and cool, so with that, we can enjoy our time in there.It's pretty simple, it's just going to plug right up into that vent spot, and have this retractable shade so you can open it up, whether you want to let in some air, and close it up when you want to keep the sun out. It has this reflective material on that side that's going to be facing up towards the sun, so it's going to keep that sunlight up and out.It's pretty simple to get this installed, it does come with some screws to mount it over that roof vent spot. It should work with most of your vents. Most of them out there are 14" by 14".
The inside edge here is about 13" on either side. Just attaches with four screws, and those do come with the vent.Pretty easy, again, to operate that vent. You're going to be operating it from this side, so it just pushes over, pull it closed. You can leave it half open, anywhere in between. So really, kind of a no-brainer as far as how to use that.
So this is just going to replace the garnish from your vent. So you can see it measures about 13" by 13. The overall outside dimensions are about 16 3/4 by 16 3/4, and then the mounting holes, center to center, are about 15 3/16, and about 11 1/2, center to center.It comes in white, as you can see, and that's pretty much all there is to it for our look at the Bauer Products Sun-Out RV roof vent shade. Blocked the early morning sun nicely in or bedroom. Easy to install and functions smoothly. You may need to remove the little hand crank for the roof vent as ours hung down too low and interfered with the sliding shade. We did this and kept it close by for days that we wanted the vent open.
Easy install, easy operation, and looks good. Three problems though. 1) If your vent has a knob/handle that sits too low, you will have to remove it in order to have clearance for the shade. 2) It is slightly asymmetrical, and the opening will not appear centered in the vent. 3) The shade is NOT a blackout. It does significantly darken and reject heat, but it definitely lets light in, especially around the edges of the shade.
Fantastic product. Fora perfectly and takes about 3min to install it. For this wondering, yes it is blackout, except for minor lighting coming from its sides. Highly recommend! 10/10

Works how it’s supposed to. Easy install and works great, what a difference this product made in my Coleman Dutchmen 17b. Well worth the purchase.
Got this for my travel trailer , fit was perfect and works as advertised. Looks very nice too. Love etrailer!
Why didn't we get this sooner!?
We have camped in some pretty hot places. Finally we were fed up and said ok, look at all the places the heat and sun are coming in, see if we can get some relief. I know the fans are small, but DANG! this really helps a lot!
Gotta say, I love it when I say, hey honey, we need one of these, it will make it cooler in here, he says looks like a waste of money to me, there is not that much heat coming in that small opening, and I get it anyway, and get to hear him say YOU WERE RIGHT!
Pretty easy to install. We did need to drill new holes in the Shade rim, but that was pretty easy. Did it on the fly and so nice!
The product looks good and fits perfect. One issue that prevented 5 stars was that the holes in the shad do not align with the holes in the trim. You will need to redrill new holes.

This vent shade is compatible with most 14 x 14 vents. The mounting holes center to center are 15.19 inches front to back length wise and 11.50 inches center to center width wise.
These shades fit my skylights perfect and were easy to install. Cut out tons of light.
Nice looking shade that fit well however I had to remove the handle from the vent as the shade hits it
The product looks good but the items were open inside the boxed it was shipped and the screws were thrown in the box and was missing some screws disappointed on how they packed them
