Hello, I'm Steven with etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at this heat shield for your Blue Ox mud flaps. Now these are stainless steel, you're gonna get one heat shield. Now I'm gonna throw up a picture above my left shoulder here. That's pretty much what this is gonna look like when you install on your Blue Ox mud flap. What this is doing is the stainless steel plate is gonna protect your mud flap from melting, due to the heat from your truck's exhaust, stuff like that.
Now a lot of people say, oh, that just doesn't happen. Take it from me, firsthand experience, we took a cargo carrier to Colorado from Missouri and just sitting back on the cargo carrier, we had a cooler and by the time we got to Colorado, it was heat damaged. A little melting going on in my cooler due to that. So these do work. They are gonna stop the heat from melting the mud flaps and creating a hole or just a bad look on the mud flaps from melting.
So again, you're gonna get one of these stainless steel plates. It does have a little contour shape to it, so it kind of sits off when it's installed. It also comes with all the mounting hardware here. It's got these white nylon spacers, that's gonna help, you know, as a spacer to get it up off the mud lab more as well. Now taking measurements, I was getting nine to three quarter inches, side to side on the long side by eight and seven eighth inches tall if it was standing straight up.
Now as far as the mounting holes, shouldn't matter too much since you're putting this on a mud flap. But went ahead and did it. Center to center, we're getting nine and one sixteenths. And on the tall side, we're getting eight and three eighth inches, center to center on those nine holes. Again, a nice stainless steel quality, nice and durable.
I'm not able to bend it, it's not too thick, so if I can't bend it too much, it's really, really strong. And again, this will fit other mud flaps and styles of mud flaps as well. It has a one year warranty, but again, it is pretty much designed for the Blue Ox mud flaps. But again, you can use it on any mud flaps out there as long as it will fit Well, I'm Steven, thanks for looking with me today at this heat shield for the Blue Ox mud flaps. Have a great day.
