Video Transcript for Feature Review Replacement Bulldog Winch Quick-Connect Set w/Dust Cover

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number: BDW-20018, this is the Bulldog Quick-Connect Set. It's going to include the dust covers, now the actual housing on this unit is going to be made from a poly-carbonate construction so it's going to offer strength and durability. It's going to come with 4 terminal contacts, these are designed to fit two 4-gauge wires. They're going to be copper terminals, they're going to be chrome-plated for resistance towards corrosion. The set is going to include two connectors, four terminals and two dust-covers. This is not compatible with other connectors. Basically, what this system does, is it takes the wiring from your wench and it takes the wiring from your vehicle and it makes the two very easy to connect that way you don't have to worry about disconnecting wires in any other way.

This is a quick-connect system and it just does what is says. So what you would do is you would take the exposed wiring (your power wire from your wench) run it into two of the terminals. So you designate a plug for your wench side, designate a plug for your vehicle side. Make the connections inside the terminals here and you can solder them or crimp them together. The plugs are going to have positive and negative sides. Install with the end of the terminal hook up, place that through and then you have to give it a pretty firm push.

It's spring-loaded in there, it's designed to reach around a tab and you'll hear it click into place. So we'll go ahead and do that for all of them. So the wench side is already done just kind of imagine that we have our wires already connected. Now we'll do that on our vehicle side. Make sure that the hooks are up. Push them in until we get them to snap into place.

So as our connections made, now when we're ready to install the wench onto the vehicle or disconnect it (either way) this system just makes that very easy to do. So we would take the two units, just like a plug, plug them together until we hear them snap into place. When they're not being used you can use the dust cap (those are included) to cover up the connection points on each side. Preventing corrosion from being able to settle in and damage contacts. That's going to do it for our review of part number: BDW-20018. This is the Bulldog Quick-Connect Set with the included dust covers. .

  • How To Wire Winch To Install On Both Back of Truck and Trailer
The Bulldog Winch Rear Wiring Kit part # BDW20207 would allow you to power a winch from the back of a truck or on a car trailer no problem using the vehicle's battery. The leads attached to the quick connect would go from the winch to the battery on the vehicle. The other quick connect would then attach to the leads that come from the winch. This would allow you to move the winch from the truck to the trailer without any additional wiring. You could purchase an extra set of quick connects...

  • Safely Using Generators and Inverters Together
While we strongly recommend using an Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch like part # 34264403 to do this process the Bulldog Quick-Connect Set w/Dust Cover part # BDW20018 could be used. The recommendation is because if you or a friend using the camper forgot to disconnect the quick connects this woud lead to issues in the camper when plugged in. It is an easy and reliable way too prevent accidents.

  • Is Core of Bulldog Winch Wiring Kit BDW20348 Copper Clad Aluminum
The core of the Bulldog Winch Rear Wiring Kit part # BDW20348 is copper clad aluminum. All of the connectors between the # BDW20348, # BDW20205 and # BDW20018 do match between each other.

  • Will 350-Amp Bulldog Winch Quick-Connect Work With 175-Amp Quick-Connect
If the winch you are using has a 360 amp power draw I recommend using the heavier-duty quick-connect set. I called my contact at Bulldog and they told me that the correct quick connect kit for your winch with that 360-amp draw is part # BDW20172. This will work with 2 gauge wire and would handle the winch power draw you said you have. The connectors included with # BDW20172 are larger and are not compatible with the connectors you have with the # BDW20018 kit. The # BDW20169 has 2...

  • Are there Quick Disconnects for an Electrical Winch with 5 Gauge Wiring
The best match that we have for a 5 gauge wire is going to be the Quick Connects, # BDW20018. It fits 3 to 5 gauge wire. The other options we have would be too small (6 to 10 gauge) so going larger would be the way to go.

  • Will the Bulldog Cable Extension Work with the Replacement Bulldog Quick Connect Connectors
Yes the Bulldog Winch Jumper Cable Extension Set part # BDW20219 and the Replacement Bulldog Winch Quick-Connect Set w/Dust Cover part # BDW20018 will work together. They are the same size and type Anderson connectors. The cable is heavy duty and does stay reasonably flexible when it gets really cold outside like most everything it gets harder to work with but overall it does lay out well.

  • Quick Connects and Wiring Recommendation for Use with a 4,500 lb Winch
The Bulldog Quick Connects # BDW20047 that you referenced are designed to be used on wire that is from 6-10 gauge. Since you have 6 gauge wire you would be just fine. This does not come with any wire, and to determine if your winch requires circuit breakers installed on the power line you will need to check the owners manual of the winch or the manufacturer. For a kit that includes the wiring you would want the part # BDW20043. This kit would then use quick connects like # BDW20018. These...

  • Parts Needed For Moving Superwinch SX12SR From Front To Rear Of a 2024 Jeep Wrangler
I recommend using a Winch Plate # C31010 to attach the Superwinch SX12SR Integrated Off-Road Winch # SW49GR. You will be able to mount this in a Rear # e98856 or Front # 65079 receiver depending on your needs for your 2024 Jeep Wrangler. For the wiring we have the Rear Wiring Kit # BDW20043 and Quick-Connect Set # BDW20018 which will allow you to install the connector on the wiring which comes with the winch and be able to easily move it from front to rear without a long extension cord.
