Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a tail light mounting box. This mounting box holds two 6" oval tail lights. The lights would mount to the box using a mounting grommet. Lights and grommets are sold separately, available at etrailer.com. This box helps protect the lights from the elements. It's made from a durable steel construction.
It features a black powder coated finish to keep the unit safe from rust and corrosion.When it comes to the installation of the box, it can be bolted or welded to your truck or trailer. The box does feature two small holes, one on this corner and then one at the opposite corner. These holes allow for ventilation and for dirt and moisture to have a way to escape.When it comes to the overall dimensions, starting with the measurement from edge-to-edge going this direction, that's going to give us a measurement of about 16-3/4 wide. When it comes to the overall height of the box, that's about 3-3/4 tall, and the overall depth, that's front to back, that measures about 3-1/4 deep. Each cutout measures 6-3/4 long by 2-1/2 tall.
I also took a measurement of the internal depth, so I measured from the back of the box to the inner part of this plate right here, so just the inside depth is about 3".And that's going to do it for today's look at the tail light mounting box.

Good quality and value. I decided to utilize these a little differently, I ended up cutting this in-half and welding one on each side of a utility trailer for rear taillighting. These made nice weld-on heavy duty trailer light boxes.

I bought this aluminum tail light box to change from a vertical box to a horizontal box to provide more room when loading my car on my Mission Aluminum car hauler.
Installation was simple and lights fit the new housing just like original.
I am very pleased with the aluminum taul light housing/box.

I was expecting the tail light housings I purchased to be made of thin steel that would make them difficult to weld on, but the are very good quality and I am very happy with them. I ama a truck and trailer mechanic and need to replace several of these housings due to rust. I will be getting them from e trailer from now on.
