Video Transcript for Curt Weight Distribution C17513 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Replacement L pins and clips for the Curt true track weight distribution system. This part number includes two L pins and two clips. Again, they're designed to replace the L pins and clips from your Curt true track weight distribution system with integrated sway control. The L pins are designed to secure the spring bars unto the support or frame brackets. They're made from durable steel and feature a patter coated finish to keep them safe and protected from rust and corrosion. It's really simple. They fit directly over the spring bar.

They go through the bracket or the frame bracket and then on the bottom side you secure it by installing the included clip. So these are exact replacements for the ones that originally came with your Curt true track weight distribution system.

Great service, great product. Purchased as replacement parts in case of failure or loss of originals, but have not needed yet. Still glad to have them because parts can be hard to replace if on the road and needed.

Comments
Still have not needed, but great to know I have them if I do.

Curt factory replacement parts. OEM fit and finish. Just what I expected. Pleasant surprise was the Etrailer price. About 20% less than Curt Industries list price.

by:

Received very quick as normal with etrailer. As easy as these can be to misplace, I always like an extra pair. etrailer always is very timely with their shipments.

by:

I got what I needed in a timely manner

I ordered these as extras just incase the ones that came with our hitch were to have issues. I'm please to report it has been a year and with MANY tight turns and backing up while hitched to trailer the originals have not had any issues. Great product and would recommend!!!!!

by:

Exactly what I needed. Shipped and received quickly. Will continue to use this company. Thanks

by:

Shipped quickly. Looks just like the original that I lost.

by:

Quick and easy order and delivery. Perfect. Customer support is fantastic.

by:

Thanks for great service

by:

Very professional as always said they would be here at the end of the day received these in less the 24 hrs

by:

It took nearly two years to find this, and then only with the able help of eTrailer web sales people. I tried several times to search my way to these to no avail. So I am delighted to have these!

My originals were twisted by a garage who moved my trailer without understanding how load leveling hitches work. If any of you are old enough to recall straightening the nails that held your wagon wheels on as a kid with a rock, that is pretty much what I've lived with. I was only able to "sort of" straighten.

Great staff, thanks very much!

by:

Simple order process, Item description is accurate. fast shipping. No complaints, will diffently buy from again.

by:

Web site was easy to use and with pictures was very accurate to find what we needed. Thanks

by:

I had ordered to wrong size by mistake. I called etrailer and they found the correct item for me and set up the return. This company is outstanding and adds a new level of competence and good customer service to to an industry that seems to lack both.

by:

excellent product

by:

This purchase was made to obtain spare parts so I was not in a hurry. etrailer kept me updated the entire time and delivery took extra time but it was not an issue.

by:

Hope I never need these. This is an easy item to get lost when disconnecting the Curt hitch from the tow vehicle. They will only be spare parts, but if ever needed it can be a deal breaker of out boondocking. Good job etrailer

by:

I ordered my hitch and L pins and surprisingly I received all within 3 or 4 days. The box they came was in good shape. This is the first time I've ordered from etrailer but I would recommend etrailer for all trailer parts.

by:

I was told when I bought this anti sway bar that I could not buy this part separately so not to lose it, but Melissa at etrailer helped me order the part is exactly what I needed. Thank You

by:

Great Service, Fast Shipping !

I had lost my clips for my 4 pt. sway control system and was in a state of dilemma. So I called Crystal at etrailer to see if I could get new clips sent to me and she did not hesitate and had the clips sent to me from Missouri in just 2 days. What great service.

by:

Fabulous customer service from eTrailer and fast shipping.

by:

as always , fast shipping and great pro ducts.

Comments
I have not used the spare clips and pins but the trailer hitch I bought them for has really done well. The best hitch I ever owned and these backup parts are high quality just like the original ones. Thanks for a great product.

by:

Items were exactly what I needed at an excellent price shipping was a little slow but was the shipper not etrailer's fault, will order again.

by:

This is exactly what came with the hitch and wanted a spare in case we are out camping and L-Pins are misplaced.

  • Trailer Tire Fender Well Clearance When Changing from Bias Ply Tires to Radial Tires
When changing out the exact same tire size of ST175/80D13, you won't have any size difference between a Bias ply Trailer Tire like # TTWTD17513C and a Radial tire like # C17513C. They will have the same diameter of 24.02 inches and same width of 7 inches. It won't impact the fender clearances at all. They can have different load capacities, ply ratings, speed ratings, etc, but the size doesn't change. The biggest difference is the way the cords of the tire are run. Radials run 90 degrees...

  • Tire Replacement Recommendation for 1995 ShorelandR with ST175/80-13 Tire
The best tire recommendation I can make for your tire size that I believe you meant to type of ST175/80-13 would be the part # C17513C. This is a Load Range C radial tire that has a 1,360 lb capacity at 50 PSI. But what really makes this tire great is that it is rated for up to 81 mph whereas most trailer tires are only rated for 65 mph. Your old tires are bias ply tires which radials are the better setup for trailer tires. They run cooler and offer more flex in the sidewall for better...

  • Tire and Wheel Combo for Harbor Freight Trailer with ST175/80-13 Tires with 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern
I couldn't tell you what, if anything, Harbor Freight has in the way of replacement parts for your trailer. But a wheel is a wheel and a tire is a tire. As long as both are the right size you can use any that fit. We have a lot of tire and wheel combos with ST175/80-13 tires with the 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. You will need to match the load range and construction type of the tires that you already have. In this tire size there are B, C, and D load ranges as well as bias ply and radial...

  • Trailer Tire Close to Size 5.6x13
Are you sure you don't have the size 6.5x13 as that is the common old style of tire that's not technically still made. The closest match to the 6.5-13 tires is going to be a 175/80-13. This size has a section width of 7 inches and overall diameter of 24.1 inches. They will fit on 13 x 4-1/2 inch, 13 x 5 inch and 13 x 5-1/2 inch wheels. For that we have the Contender part # C17513C which is a great radial tire with plenty of capacity and a higher speed rating at a great price.

  • Replacement B78-13ST Tires for a 2011 Little Guy Five Wide Camper
A 175/80-13 is the modern metric equivalent of a B78-13ST trailer tire. For this, I recommend using the Contender ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire part # C17513C which as the name states has a radial ply construction therefore it will be better for use on the highway. This particular tire also has a load range c (1,360 lb) and outstanding 81 mph speed rating. I really like the Taskmaster brand as they continually offer quality trailer tires to the market which are backed by a two year warranty.

  • Can I Lower The Pressure On My Log Splitter Tires To Help Smooth the Ride Out
I know this is not what you want to hear but we must recommend that you inflate the trailer tires to the max psi listed on the sidewall. I will say that plenty of others will lower the pressure in their trailer tires based on the load at the time and they do not have any issues in doing so but that still does not mean we can recommend this. The lower pressure rating of the tire will then allow for a smoother ride but you also run the risk of tire temperatures increasing and then causing...

I would love to make you a recommendation. Unfortunately, I need to know the tire size that you need so that I can help you. It looks like you were checking out 13 inch tires on our website so I will start there. If you need 13 inch tires then I recommend the Taskmaster Contender ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire, Item # C17513C. It has a 1,360-lb maximum load capacity at 50 psi. With four tires, you would have more than enough capacity for your situation. It is great for highway use...

  • How to Select Properly Rated Trailer Tires
Tires only need to have a capacity that, when combined, equal or surpass the GVWR of your trailer, including your 1994 StarCraft Stardust trailer. For example, if you had 13 inch wheels and your trailer had a GVWR of 2,500 lbs you could use the Contender ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire # C17513C which have a 1,360 lb capacity when inflated to their max 50 psi. Two of these tires inflated to max psi would give you a 2,720 lb capacity, exceeding the GVWR of the trailer. So as long as your...

  • ST175/80R13 Trailer Tire Recommendation for 2003 Rockwood Premier
The difference between the D and the R is that R indicates radial and D indicates bias ply construction. The main difference between a radial ply and a bias ply tire is how the tire is constructed. The cords inside a bias ply tire run at a 32 degree angle to the direction of travel, and the cords on a radial tire run at a 90 degree angle to the direction of travel, or across the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. A radial tire flexes more than a bias tire, giving it better ground contact,...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Tire Size 175/80-13 with Center of Tire Wear
Typically center tire wear is caused by over-inflation or a tire that's just too round due to design or the trailer not being loaded enough for the tire to flatten out. Bias-ply tires like yours won't wear as well as a radial so for a better tire setup you'd want to go to a radial. For your tire size of 175/80-13 the best option would be the Contender part # C17513C which is a radial tire in your current size and is a Load Range C.

  • How To Fix Tire Clearance Issues When Using 185/80-13 Tires
The recommended clearance for a trailer tire is at minimum 4" from the top to the bottom of the fender. The 185/80-13 tires you have now measure 24.4" diameter x 7.2" wide. The 175/80-13 tires you are wanting measure 24" diameter x 7" wide. Therefore, you will gain about a 1/2" of clearance. For this, I recommend the Contender ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire part # C17513C which is a radial ply therefore will run cooler on the highway and last longer. This is the smallest size without going...

  • Correct Tire Load Range for Flagstaff Pop Up Tent Trailer
The 175/80-13 LRC tires are indeed correct for a Flagstaff Pop Up Tent Trailer. In most cases, the combined load capacity of the tires won't equal or exceed the weight of the trailer fully loaded (GVWR). This is because there will always be between 10-15% of the trailer's weight placed on the vehicle at any given time through the tongue. For replacement, I recommend the Contender ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire part # C17513C which offers up to an 81 mph speed rating.

  • Modern Trailer Tire Replacement for a B78-14 Tire
The modern equivalent of a B78-14 is a 175/75-14 or a 185/70-14. That said, these are not very common trailer tire sizes nor do we have any options in this size. The closest size we have is a 205/75-14 like the Provider ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire part # TR20514 which measures 26.14" diameter x 8" wide. In order to go with a narrower option you would need to step down to a 175/80-13 like the Contender ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire part # C17513C which measures 24.02" diameter x 6.97"...

The differences between a radial and bias ply tire lie within the construct of the bands, not the overall dimensions. Therefore, a radial tire with the same section width as a bias tire, will not be any wider. Currently, we do not carry a ST185/80/13 trailer tire however, we do have a similar size in the ST175/80/13. The ST175/80/13 trailer wire will be .4 inches narrower than a ST185/80/13 tire. We offer a 5.30-12 tire in a load range D with a 1250 lb per tire/2500 lb per axle capacity. To go larger, you'd need to move up to a 13 inch wheel, like a ST175/80-13 load range C radial tire with a 1360 lb per tire/2720 lb per axle capacity. The part number is # C17513C.
