What's up, everybody, it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out this CURT seven-pole bracket. We're gonna use this to install, to extend out where we want our seven-pole plugin to be. Let's check it out. Every setup is a little bit different when you go to add wiring to your vehicle. Sometimes there's not a whole lot of room underneath.
So on our vehicle today, we want to bring the adapter further out so it's easier to plug in our trailer. You don't want it back here behind the hitch, and there's not really room up here towards the top. So with the long bracket, we attach the seven-pole bracket, so it has a spot to stay all the time, and we know it's secure. As far as install goes, it's not so bad, they give you all the hardware you need. I would just go ahead and get a long bracket to extend it away from the vehicle, so you have something to attach to.
But check out how I did it. We have everything set up here. We're ready to add our seven-pole bracket, and this has the holes here to line up with the top. So we'll just drop our bolt through, line up that first one. I'm gonna put a nut on the backside.
It'll help hold it in place. So now we're gonna add a nut on this side. You want to make sure you look at the spacing between the holes. So this bracket is gonna work best with the hole spacing which is gonna be from center to center on these mounting holes, that has the spacing of 2 1/4 inches. Now if you had one that had 2 1/2 inches, like this other one, the holes just aren't gonna line up correctly.
You want a different seven-pole bracket which Pollak offers that as well, that it fits way better. So you can just slide that in there and already see, 'cause the slot of holes are gonna be more adaptable to whatever setup you have. Same thing with the hardware. Put our bolt through here, and then add a nut on the backside. And we're gonna do that for all four holes on our seven-pole. With all four of these installed, we'll come back on our wrench, we're on the back, and then use a flat-blade screwdriver to finish tightening it down, so the plug stays in place. That about does it for our quick look at the seven-pole bracket. Really easy to install and really helpful to have to get that seven-pole moved out more towards the back of the vehicle. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. I hope this helped.

I just opened up my new Class 5 Curt XD hitch and have not yet installed it so my comments are based on first impressions only. It is very heavy duty - and heavy at 40 lbs. - made of extremely thick metal and outfitted with quality Grade 8 bolts with square necks so they won’t turn when torquing on the nuts to attach the main tube to the side mounting plates. My bolts are plated yellow (which I like) rather than silver as you may have seen in some online photographs. It is substantially beefier than my existing Grade 4 hitch and superior in every way. It’s an impressive piece of hardware. I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed with it on specifications, quality, strength, and general appearance. It’s a beast. What I AM disappointed in is Curt’s packaging and the condition in which the hitch arrived. (This is NOT a reflection on etrailer.com as the hitch arrived in Curt’s original packaging.) The unassembled main tube and the two side mounting plates come bundled together with nothing separating them but shrink wrap. No cardboard, plastic, even paper coming between the metal surfaces - just shrinkwrap probably not even a couple of mils thick. With basically metal-to-metal contact in an oversized-box with the bundle jostling around, it would be a miracle if there were no scratches, gouges, or some type of damage to at least one piece, which is exactly what happened to my hitch. The main hitch tube, on the exterior facing plane, on the driver side where I’ll see it every day, has some gouges on it that go through the powder-coating to bare metal. I can - and will - paint them to prevent rust (and, therefore, have to paint the whole hitch to match). But the gouges will still be noticeable as they go through the thicker, pebbly, powder-coat finish and will undoubtedly still appear as depressions in the surface even once painted. I fully realize this kind of surface damage will almost certainly happen with regular usage of the hitch anyway and that it’s certifiable to demand absolute perfection in anything. But if you are someone who cares about the aesthetics of your equipment and keeping it looking new for as long as possible, it is very disappointing to receive such an expensive and prominent piece of hardware damaged right out of the box and requiring immediate repainting. The plastic parts bag had also ripped open in transit, with nuts, bolts, shims, etc. rattling around in the box. I am dumbfounded that Curt packages such a high-quality piece of equipment so shoddily where such damage is virtually unavoidable. I bought from Curt solely due to their being an American manufacturer and to support American workers so this is doubly discouraging. It’s a trivial complaint in the big scheme of things and not worth demanding a replacement over. Just be aware that unless Curt changes their packaging practices it is very possible you will have the wind taken out of your towing project sails just as I have. Again, this in no way reflects on etrailer. My experience to date with etrailer (website, educational resources, staff reviews, ordering, tracking, email contact, etc.) has been beyond exemplary in every way. They rank as a Top Five online retailer in my opinion, maybe even the best.
Did not fit the wire harness purchased and was recommended to purchase this item by you web site. Contacted customer service and they explained I had to drill holes to mount the wire harness. (2) holes were slightly offset and made it very difficult to drill a correct hole in the bracket.
Fast shipping but none of the holes for mounting the 7pin lined up, even though they were both Curt products. Easy remedy but should not have happened.
Won’t work with end connection of 7 pin connector had to by one at orileys it’s holes don’t line up not even close
Hole pattern did not line up with Curt wiring harness kit I purchased. Not wide enough to be able to modify/redrill. Kind of worthless!
I would be more likely to order again from etrailer if I did not receive so many emails for surveys and pats on the back. I received the first survey request before the item arrived and the second just minutes after. Have not even had time to begin to install items. It feels almost like harassment. I can usually find what I need here but get irritated with constant emails. Probably would rate higher but won’t get to installation for a couple of days and then the products need to prove themselves before a rating can be valid, unless all I’m rating is the delivery. It came as advertised, thought not fast.
A+++++++++++++++++ less then 10 min to instal
No bolt holes line up with plug.

Instead of this bracket I recommend using bracket part # HM48625 which has slotted holes that give more flexibility to fit with more seven way plugs.
Gotta be able to bolt the connector som ewhere
So, just a piece of metal in this package, no mounting hardware for wiring or for attaching to the vehicle. Also, the wiring outlet mounting holes do not line up with the bracket so necessary to drill out a wider hole. Luckily, I scrounged some bolts and nuts from the toolbox to finally mount the bracket.

This bracket does not come with hardware and is meant to be attached to the bumper. You can also attach it to a hitch using part # C57202. For a different bracket consider part # HM48625 which has more mounting holes to match with more seven way connectors. You would still need to use part # C57202 to attach it to a hitch and you would also need mounting hardware.
Junk, flimsy thin metal construction
Very nice solid bracket and it is finished very nicely.

We have had other reviews saying that the bracket was not quite lining up. I recommend looking at bracket part # HM48625.
Works as advertised.

The mounting bracket that I recommend is part # PK12711U. It has slotted holes that will give more flexibility to match to the mounting bracket on seven way harnesses.
Solid part but only two holes matched the 7 pin plug supplied with my Curt custom wiring kit. I also chose to drill the mounting holes larger to use 1/4” screws.

Bracket still in operation but edges beginning to show rust from the Western NY state winters.
Perfect fit. exactly as expected.
worked perfectlyy
Pre drilled holes on bracket which I had to purchase separately didn’t match holes on the 7pin receiver purchased from etrailer? I had to drill new holes to match 7 pin receiver.

Just for future reference, I have seen others have better luck with part # PK12711U because of the oval shaped holes.
Didn’t fit my 7way harness. Problem has been resolved with etrailer, and the replacement part is on the way.
thank you forfast delivery

I have pulled both the bracket, part # C67UR and the harness you had purchased, part # C68JR for measurements. As you have mentioned, this harness does not fit with this bracket. However, we do have a bracket, part # HM48625 that will fit the harness you had purchased.
