Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this DeeMaxx over-the-hub rotor. Now, this is a slip-on over-the-hub rotor that's gonna fit over your standard idler hub so you can upgrade an axle on your trailer from being an idler axle to a braking axle so that it can slow and stop itself rather than having to rely on your tow vehicle's brakes to slow and stop both, so it's definitely gonna take some of that strain off your tow vehicle's braking system. This is going to work for your 7,000 pound capacity axle. Our rotor is 13-1/8th of an inch in diameter. And you can see we have these half inch wheel bolt holes here, half inch diameter, in the eight on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern so your existing wheel studs will just slide through those holes.
Now, this is going to have a Max Coat finish on it which is kind of a proprietary version of a dichromate finish so it is gonna provide rust protection as well as corrosion resistance. It's got a salt spray rating of over 1,000 hours so it is gonna be great for your boat trailers, trailers that are used in coastal areas, or in heavily treated roads where there's gonna be a lot of contact with road salt and that sort of thing. This is gonna hold up well for you. Here on the side, you can see we do have this vented design that's gonna help dissipate heat faster to prevent premature brake pad wear. And then one of the things that's really unique to DeeMaxx is having these drainage holes here in the hat section that's going to allow water to drain out so it's not just sitting there in the hat section, potentially causing corrosion.
So if you are using this on a boat trailer as you pull your boat up out of the water, you don't have to worry about water sitting in there. Or if you're in a coastal area, you don't have to worry about condensation building up there. It's just gonna drain out to allow these to hold up well for a long time to come. This is going to be a high-quality automotive-grade construction and so it is gonna be very long lasting for you and it is a DeeMaxx product. DeeMaxx does have a great reputation for being very focused on quality of their products so I think you're gonna be very happy with this.
That completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
