Colin: Hey everyone, Colin here at etrailer. Today we're gonna take a look at the Century Deflector for the Demco Kar Kaddy Tow Dollies. It's going to work for either the tow dolly where the tongue folds in and collapses, or just the standard one. It's important to have one of these covers in front of your vehicle, because on those long road trips, rocks or any other road debris can occasionally be thrown up into the front of your vehicle, destroying the finish and paint job.The deflector's going to sit at a 30 degree angle, so when rocks and other debris are thrown from your motor home, it's going to hit the deflector, and be pushed down to go under your vehicle to pass through. It has a high density polyethylene construction, so it's going to be very durable and hold up to all of the elements as well as all the road debris that could come in contact with it. When assembling it on your Kar Kaddy, it's going to have three different parts. You're going to have a part on the driver's side, a part on the passenger side, and then this middle part connecting the two.
It's going to use these two brackets that are on our support, that's bolted down onto our frame for the two side pieces. Then the middle pieces going to connect to the two side pieces, using these bolts right here.Right here's going to be our base, which is supporting our deflector. You can see it uses a couple of U bolts to bolt down onto the frame of our tow dolly. We're also going to have the two U bolts up here connecting our support beam across the upright beam. It has a durable steel construction to it, with a black powder coat finish, so it's going to help resist rust and corrosion.
You're going to be able to leave this on the frame of your tow dolly, while your deflector is in storage. Now here we're going to have a snap pin, which is a nice safety feature so in case your deflector we're ever to fail, all the parts would still be held together. There's going to be another hole on the other side of the middle deflector, so that you can purchase a lock to put in the outside, in case you want more security for your deflector. On the bottom of our deflector, we're going to have these three inch slits cut all the way across the length of it, and that's just going to help increase air flow, so that wind doesn't just catch your deflector and then bow it at all, from the force of the wind. It's also going to be a nice way to allow moisture that accumulates to escape off of your deflector. The two side panels of our deflector are going to have these nice built in supports, which is going to help prevent it from bowing too much, and possibly making contact with your vehicle. It's going to make it very nice and sturdy, so that it holds up for those high winds. When you first get your deflector, you are going to need a couple tools to get it assembled and attached to your tow dolly.
But after that, to remove it and reinstall it, you're not going to need any tools. When not in use, the deflector comes apart and fits in this convenient bag that's going to make for easy storage. But that being said, that's going to do it for our look at the Century Deflector for the Demco Kar Kaddy Tow Dollies.
