Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Demco Hijacker Autoslide Locking Plate for your MORryde Pin Boxes. Now, the way your Demco Hijacker Autoslide functions, you're going to have to prevent the king pin from rotating in the hitch in order for it to have the correct pressure in order to slide. So, we are going to need to isolate that movement at the king pin, and that's what this plate is gonna do. This is going to bolt on to your MORryde pin box, and you can see we do have this wedge here.
This is going to fill up your jaw channel, and so it's going to make sure that your pin box isn't going to be rotating at all, and then it will allow your Hijacker Autoslide to swing out as it needs to to make those tight turns for you. So, this is gonna be very easy to get mounted on to your pin boxes. They do include the hardware that you're gonna need as well as instructions with very detailed pictures to help you get it installed. So very, very easy to get installed, and it is gonna be really necessary for your Hijacker to function properly. This is a nice, durable carbide, corrosion-resistant powder-coat finish, so it is gonna hold up really well for you.
Nice solid construction. So, it is gonna do a really good job of ensuring that your Hijacker is functioning properly with your MORryde pin boxes. It is made here in the USA, so you can trust it is gonna be a good quality for you. Like I said, very easy to get bolted in place, and it's going to make sure that your autoslide is functioning. You need this for a MORyde pin box and an automatic sliding 5th wheel hitch. It was a perfect fit that I had the dealer install when I picked up the new 5th wheel trailer. They claimed it took 2 men and an hour, I don’t really know.
You cannot clamp the factory sliding hitch bars against the MORyde because the motion that it creates, so the “V” on the bottom slides into the V on your 5th wheel plate, thus locking it in as one piece and still lets the MORyde to its thing. Voodoo magic!
It’s not needed unless you have an automatic sliding 5th wheel.
Just what I needed. It stops the extra movement and allows the hitch to rotate as it should.

Some tips and reaffirmed it is installed correctly. Biggest feedback for improvement is the quality of the printed instructions were a bit poor. It was hard to see exactly how the side bumpers were installed. I figured it out though.
Could not find this locking plate on etrailer website so I called them. Customer service knew the exact plate I was looking for. Arrived 2 days later. Great service from this company.
Got the locking plate earlier than expected. Easy to install with good instructions with pictures. Wouldn’t be leaving Florida for a few months so will let you know how it tows back to Ohio then.

This hitch has saved our bacon more than once. When we first looked into it many of my friends with fifth wheels told me I wouldnt need a sliding hitch. They swore they never needed to turn their trucks that tight. One friend told me his had come in handy many times. Four hours into my first time out I ended up in a tight parking area. without the hitch I would have been looking at backing my rig a considerable distance. Because I had it, I was able to jackknife and turn around. While we still have to pay attention to where we are going, this hitch has opened up options on how and where I can park my fifth wheel. As far as function- the hitch has worked flawlessly. We had an issue getting the dealership to install the capture plate, so we went to an rv tech, who put it on for us. Once the plate was installed the hitch worked like a charm. There is one downside- it is heavy, so I dont take it out of the truck. This is an excellent durable product that does exactly what it is designed to do, and does it well.
Demco 5th wheel hitch, under bed framework, and adapter plate we're all provided by etrailer. Shipping was prompt and all items in great shape. Install directions we're detailed and fairly easy to follow.
The quality of Demco products is without peer.
I had to use a forklift to install it onto my pin box because it wasn’t manufacturer right. All the bends were off by less than a inch. That’s why I was able to make it work, but needed a forklift to install so I can apply pressure to front so rear of the capture plate can be bolted down and applied pressure to rear so that front could be bolted down. The hitch performed awesomely I towed my new fifth over 2,200 miles. I would recommend this hitch, but demco needs to revisit with morryde for the correct specifications on the capture plate.
the Demco slider hitch I bought has performed as expected with no problems so far. I feel confident when taking sharp turns that my 5th wheel will keep its distance from the cab of my truck. The product is heavy duty and looks great too.
I have had the capture plate on my new camper to use with the Demco Hijacker Autoslider hitch for a year now. It works perfect together.
Hitching up has never been easier. Head stays perfectly straight when coupling. No need for adjustable guides. Very easy installation.
Just remember to remove it if someone tows with a conventional hitch. That would be a disaster.

Used this product in conjunction with my mor ryde pin box/ demco auto slider and after hooking up and unhooking a few times plus two trips it has worked well. The only thing to keep in mind is due to the way the grooves behind the pin sit it doesn't work so well with a king pin stabilizer.

Very good and needed part for my Mor/Ryde pin box. Would not have known this was a required, not recommended, add on for my pinbox had it not been for etrailer and there expert adviser, Jared P. He was of great help. Jared did a great job helping me. Thank you. RV dealers need to be a little bit more knowledgeable on what customers need for their RV.
