Hello, neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at our Demco autoslide locking plate for the Trailair Tri-Glide pin boxes. So folks with this locking plate, it will prevent your kingpin from pivoting inside your Demco autoslide fifth wheel trailer hitch. It's gonna work with the Trailair Tri-Glide pin boxes. It's a simple bolt-on installation with the included hardware. You do have to do some drilling to install this.
You gotta drill one hole on the the kingpin area, according to the instructions. So just read the instructions that come with it for that. It is a simple, again, bolt-on installation, just one hole to drill, corrosion-resistant. It's been powder-coated with a carbide black durable finish. It's not gonna rust on you or any of that kind of stuff.
So, again, very nice. Again, you've got the installation bolt right here. So all you have to do is drill the one hole on the kingpin-side to finish up the install. Made in America. Nice five-year limited warranty from Demco.
This is the autoslide locking plate. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.

Bolt this locking plate onto your Trailair Tri-Glide pin box to prevent the king pin from rotating inside your Demco Autoslide fifth-wheel trailer hitch. Hardware included. It is a simple part with a simple purpose; to eliminate the clamps on the hitch head. Because the Triglide king pin plate can float back and forth the clamps will interfere. This part makes it much easier to connect the hitch. However, it is a bit of a challenge to drill a 1/2 hole through 5/16 inch thick plate. A brand new bit is recommended. Not sure if it was necessary but I started with a 1/4 inch then used the 1/2 inch.
I had trouble with this hitch at first. I could not get it to close and latch properly when I backed into the king pin. I worked with tech services and ended up replacing the inner pivot parts and I have really not had any issues since. Because I have to have the locking plate for my pin box, you do have to line up the truck just right for it to latch properly, but once you figure that out, it is easy. The auto slide feature works really good. I have a short bed RAM truck and I have completely turned 90 degrees with my trailer attached and it slides back with no issues to miss my cab. I highly recommend this hitch. Also the Demco Tech Services guys are great to work with.
The hitch works great and makes turns effortless especially in unsettled weather. I've had no problems completing near 90 degree turns without coming close to trailer-cab strikes. One thing that you ABSOLUTELY have to remember is to set the guide plates (depending on the king pin box you have) before driving or it will screw up the gear that allows the hitch to auto-slide.
Great support. Super fast shipping - thx !
