Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this replacement shock for the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuators. This part will replace the shock in your Demco Hydraulic Trailer Brake Actuator. It is designed to fit the model numbers DA91, DA10, DA16 and the DA20 models. A few dimensions on this, the overall dimension from one end to the very other end, it's going to be right at 7".

Now when this extends out the full extension measurement will be 9-1/8". Distance from the center of this eye to the center of this eye, right at 6". And the same way if it's extended out it will be 8-1/8". Now the diameter on the smallest eye, which is right down here, is going to be right at 0.625" and on the larger eye is 0.89".But that should do it for the review on the replacement shock for the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuators.

  • Replacement Inner Parts for Demco 12.5K Weld-On Actuator
Thank you for all of the photos you sent in! I have some parts I believe will fit, but if you're able to find any exact part numbers on the actuator itself I will be able to provide more of a concrete selection of parts. • How To Replace Surge Brake Shocks On Demco Actuator On 2004 Heritage Boat Trailer
Thank you for the image of your setup Steve. I do not know what the manufacturer was thinking when they welded in the Demco Actuator on your boat trailer. With how it was installed there is no way for you to access that rear pin without drilling a hole through the frame. They should have installed either the Disc # DM8205222 or Drum # DM8202232 brake actuator which would sit on top of the A-Frame and allow you to access all components of the hitch. • What are the Measurements for the Demco Actuator Replacement Shock # DS12426
Presumably, the model number of the actuator will be stamped into the metal of the casing. This can wear down and/or get painted over after many years of service. If you cannot locate the make and model on your actuator, you may be able to go by the measurements. I went out to the warehouse and measured replacement shock # DS12426. The overall diameter is 1.662 inches (about 1-11/16 inches). The larger eye has an inner diameter of 0.89 inches (about 7/8 inches). The smaller eye has an...

  • How Do You Know if a Trailer Brake Actuator Shock Needs to be Replaced
Shocks such as # DS12426 on brake actuators don't have a native, relaxed positioned. They will stay in place until acted upon by an outside force. You will know your shock is good if it is very difficult if not impossible to push in and pull out by hand. If you aren't straining and pulling or pushing as hard as you can then there is likely something wrong with the shock. Based on the problem you described it does sound like the shock is the problem.

  • Master Tow Dolly Chucking When The Brakes Are Applied
It could be a couple of reasons why your MasterTow Dolly is chucking when applying brakes. I recommend checking the brake fluid levels and ensure it is not low. I also recommend checking the ball and coupler, and ensuring that you have the correct size ball, and that your ball isn't loose. Finally, you could have a partner ride alongside you and examine the chucking, it is possible something on your hitch is loose and could be causing this issue.
