Easy install, basic instructions. The sensor is exact fit for the pressure port plug on driver side tranny body(2002 4r70w) no drilling the tranny pan

by:

Product was late arriving but as always good communication from etrailer rep's and quality is just as expected.

Thanks for reaching out. I love the product. The pan combined with the gauge to track the temperature of the fluid has given me invaluable peace of mind. Believe me, if I am ever in need for products for any of my vehicles, your site will be one of the first ones I check.

Drilled the pan and installed per instructions. Seems to work good with no leaks at install area. Wiring for light is a little flimsy or I would give better rating.

by:

I ordered a transmission oil gage and it arrived in just a couple days (Very prompt).
The directions were very simple and the gage was very easy to install and works great

  • Does the Derale Temperature Gauge Kit Include the Temperature Sender Adapter
The Derale Temperature Gauge Kit, # D13009, includes the temperature sender adapter. I have attached a photo showing how the adapter and temperature sender will install on your oil pan. The adapter will insert into your transmission oil pan with the nylon washer and tightened to the pan with the jam nut. Once the adapter is installed, then temperature sender will thread into the adapter.

  • Where to Mount a Transmission Fluid Temperature Gauge in a 1999 Ford F250
I would install it into the transmission pan of your 1999 Ford F250, you will have to remove your oil pan and drill a 1/2 inch hole into the transmission oil pan and use the supplied jam nut, nylon washer and temp sender pan adapter to install the temperature sensor. Or if your radiator has a coolant port on your radiator, using the included non-stick tape to install the temperature sensor in the port. Check out the picture I attached to see how it all installs. • How to Install Derale Transmission Temperature Gauge Kit # D13009
The + sign on the right-hand terminal on the Derale Transmission Temperature Gauge # D13009 is for connection to an ignition-controlled 12V power source. The middle terminal connects to a chassis ground. Both connections require 18-gauge wire. The left-hand "S" terminal is for the sensor, as you noted, and its wire can be as long as needed (within reason!) to reach from the sensor to the gauge. The written installation instructions are linked at right for your reference.

What we have that could work for you would be the Derale Temperature Gauge Kit # D13009. This can be used with engine oil and would work well for you. You would want to remove your oil pan to install this. The picture I attached shows how just the temp sender would install.

If the test port on the transmission of your 1999 Ford F-250 uses thread dimensions that are 1/8 NPT then the sensor of the # D13009 would fit and work well. • Availability of Derale Temperature Gauge kit With Sensor

  • Derale Temperature Gauge Kit Pegged At 300 Degrees
More than likely the reason your Derale Temperature Gauge Kit for Transmission or Engine Oil # D13009 is stuck at 300 degrees is because you have a 12 volt or a ground wire ran to the sensor terminal causing it to ground out and hit 300 degrees. I have attached the instructions for you to check out as well.

You can mount cooler # D13402 on the rail in front of the radiator on your 2005 Dodge Dakota. Ideally, for the most airflow efficiency for the fan pulling air through you would want it mounted against the radiator if there is space. But mounting it further out should not sacrifice too much of the supplemental cooling when at ideal or lower speeds. You will not need additional fittings to install the cooler on your truck. You will want to keep the factory transmission cooler and use the aftermarket one to supplement the cooling rather than just replace the factory cooler. The idea is that, working together, an aftermarket cooler and the factory cooler will be more efficient and cool the transmission fluid better than just one cooler working alone. However, the temperature sender needs to be clear of any exhaust and you will need to have room for the jamb nut and to fit a wrench on it so whichever side of the pan allows for this is what I recommend but it will function the same regardless.
