After almost all parts stores in my city had a number for this part, however all of them stated it was discontinued. I ordered this part, it came fairly quickly. Even more ironic was it had several stickers on the packag with ALL of the same part numbers that autozone, oreilies, advance auto had in their systems. E-trailer wins. Easy to install by just bending the trans line 38 degrees out. 30 minutes install tops. Beats cutting hoses. 5.2L , 1999 Durango 9/16 fittings.

Well the part performed great. However the oil cooler it was attached to died a horrible death, over 78 miles from the nearest parts store in the UP of Michigan. Thanks to a gracious NAPA store in newberry, mi, I was able to get a bigger oil cooler installed in their parking lot and saved my UP vacation last year. Your part still performs flawlessly.

Ordering was easy, shipping was really fast. The products are all high quality!
You can stop looking this is the place to order trailer parts.

The cooler installation went well. Instructions were accurate and helpful. The radiator adaptor did not fit. I assume the reason being my truck is the r/t version (bigger radiator)... worked around that issue with a tube cutter. unit has reduced tranny temp significantly. A must for the mopar enthusiast.

This attachment did not fit my 2001 dodge dakota sport V6 version either. The threads are wrong. Ill need to go and buy new hose to get it to work with the old connectors.

Parts are great quality but found when I got them, they were incorrect for my 2005 Dodge Dakota. Wasnt an Etrailer issue. Seems somewhere in the 2005 model year they changed the transmission line connections. Derale was great when I called them the fittings not working. They gave me some other options for installing the cooler.

by:

Very disappointed. I waited over three weeks for these fitting to arrive only to find out that they don't fit my radiator. I've got a 2005 Dodge Dakota and these fittings were recommended for my vehicle by etrailer website to make the job simple and avoiding cutting the tubing or using a flaring tool. The fittings look good and I'm sure they would work on some other vehicle though, but it's too bad there wasn't a warning that it doesn't fit all 2005 Dakotas, or I would have taken it apart before ordering.

Bought to cool 42RLE trans on dakota 2005. Did great job of cooling. Big improvement on transmission shifting. Previously, I had alot of shuddering, from overheating. Did not need special fitting. Used spring clamps instead of hose clamps. Just cut existing tube and slide hose on. Needed extra hose though. Great improvement, worth the money.

Great service by etrailer, fast delivery, nice web catalog. I have done business before with the company, will be back again.

  • Adapter Fitting Recommendation for Installing Transmission Cooler in 2001 Dodge Durango
To install the Derale transmission cooler part # D13503 that you referenced you actually also want the radiator adapter fittings part # D13030 and you'd be set. These thread onto the radiator of your 2001 Dodge Durango to give you the correct size barb fittings.

  • Recommended Supplementary Transmission Cooler for 2004 Dodge Dakota
Transmission fluid temperature can rise quickly when towing, especially in warmer weather and when towing on uphill grades which naturally mean slower speeds and reduced air flow to your Dakota's cooling system. Supplementary coolers are a wise addition to a towing vehicle, and so too is keeping your transmission fluid fresh as you have done. Standard passive coolers like Derale # D13503 (along with hose fitting kit # D13030) can install in front of your AC condenser to give you more heat-radiating...

  • Transmission Filter Extender for a Pan Transmission Cooler for a 1999 Dodge Dakota with 5.9 Liter
It is strongly recommended to use the Filter Extender, # D14010, when you add a Pan Cooler type of transmission cooler like # D14210. It is not required to install the cooler or allow it to work though. but you would not want to get caught in a situation later where it becomes a hindrance not having one. Please note that this cooler is made for vehicles with an A518 (46RH or 46RE), A618 (47RH, 47RH, or 48RE), or A727 (36RH or 37RH) transmission. Transmission fluid cannot be overcooled...

  • Are Transmission Coolers for 2001 Dodge Dakota Compatible with Manual Transmission
Transmission coolers are designed to be fairly universal regardless of whether it's a manual or automatic, so a transmission cooler like the Derale # D13613 will be compatible with your 2001 Dodge Dakota with 3.9L V6 engine regardless of the transmission. The only extra part you're going to need are the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for Dodge Dakota # D13030, which gives you fittings to allow you to make the connections without having to flare or cut lines. I've also linked all of the...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2004 Dodge Dakota with 4.7 Liter V8
The best way to pick out a transmission cooler for a vehicle is to base it off of what would be the largest one that would fit in front of the radiator. The part # D13504 is a larger cooler that would work well for you as long as you have the room for it. It measures 11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep. The fitting you would want is the part # D13030 that is designed to fit your truck and would allow you to install the cooler without having to cut or flare any lines.

  • Recommended Engine and Transmission Coolers for 2005 Dodge Dakota SLT V8
Towing will put an additional heat burden on both your engine cooling system and your transmission. A higher capacity radiator will certainly drop your engine temp when you're towing with your Dakota, but an easier and less-costly alternative is to simply add a powered fan like the Derale # D18217. Radiator upgrade are usually needed only for extreme applications like racing. This fan is a push or pull type so it can be mounted on the inside of your radiator (space permitting of course)...

  • Does Check Valve in 1999 Dodge Dakota Transmission Lines have to be Removed to Install Cooler
I would not advise testing the flow of the transmission fluid in this manner because it could drop the pressure in the lines which could cause issues with the transmission. It would be better to have a more controlled situation by having a transmission shop monitor the flow and pressure in the lines. They would have the necessary equipment to more accurately and safely test it. This is the first time I have heard of this issue. It seems to me that a better solution might be to use larger...
