Video Transcript for What to Know About the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for Dodge

Instructor Hello everybody, this is Jeff for etrailer.com. Today, we take a look at the Derale cooling line radiator adapter fitting kit, for Dodge trucks. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 1999 to 2003 Dodge trucks and vans that have either the 3.9 liter V6 engines or the 5.2 liter and 5.9 liter V8 engines. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year model vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now these are cooling line and radiator adapter fittings.

They do use the nine inch 16 by 24, 45 degree SAE male and female fittings. And this is to let you connect your existing transmission lines from your cooler to the radiator on your vehicle. Basically, you can see the hose bar bend is where your hose will connect to, and the threaded ends on the male and females will go into your radiator. These are a nice brass construction. But that should do it for the review on the Derale cooling line radiator adapter fitting kit for your Dodge trucks..

  • Stacked Plate Transmission Cooler For 1999 Dodge Durango 4X4
The installation of a transmission cooler will help cool the temperature of the transmission fluid on your 1999 Dodge Durango. Transmission coolers are not vehicle specific, so finding the location where it will work well and measuring to make certain it will fit is very important. A transmission cooler should be mounted in front of the radiator and AC condenser, if possible. I have linked you to a couple of help articles about transmission coolers. I would recommend the Derale 34-Row,...

  • Should a Derale Transmission Cooler Bypass the Factory Cooler on a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The transmission coolers that we carry like # D13504 are designed to be used as supplemental coolers to work in conjunction with the factory cooler. The flow starts from the transmission, then goes to the factory cooler, and from the factory cooler to the supplemental Derale cooler, and then back to the transmission. Take a look at the video I have linked as an example. I have also included a link to our FAQ article on transmission coolers for you. Depending on what size motor you have...

  • Is a Special Fitting Needed to Install a Transmission Cooler on a 2000 Chrysler LHS
From what I could find a special fitting is not needed when installing a transmission cooler on a 2000 Chrysler LHS. The Insta-Dapt fitting, # D13004, that comes with the coolers we sell should be all you need. Fitting # D13034 would fit if the lines on the vehicle take a 9/16-24. But that can be difficult to determine. A Chrysler dealer may have this information if you speak to a tech in the service department.

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2002 Dodge Ram with 5.9L Transmission
The return line (transmission inlet) is the upper hose and the outlet is the lower hose. For your transmission cooler, I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13503. If you have the 5.9L I-6 turbo diesel, then you don't need adapters. If you have the 5.9L gasoline V-8, then you will need adapter # D13034 or # HH41413. You will want # D13034 if vehicle equipped with 9/16"-24 thread SAE fittings. You will want # HH41412 for 5/8"-18 S.A.E. 45ยบ fittings.

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for Jeep Grand Cherokee that Does Low Speed Off-Roading
I would highly recommend a transmission cooler for your 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Since you will be doing low-speed off-roading I would recommend a kit that comes with a fan so that you can ensure the cooler gets air-flow like the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler # D13950. This comes with everything needed to install including lines and fittings but to make installing the cooler easier you would want the radiator adapter part # D13034 to prevent you from having to go through...

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler For 2001 Dodge Ram Pickup
Transmission coolers are designed to be a supplement to your cooling system and are not designed to replace a system that may be faulty or damaged. You said you have a leak and if a transmission cooler is needed on your 2001 Dodge Ram Pickup. Since some of the cooling systems on Ram pickups vary due to engine size and how the vehicle was built, you will want to make sure your system is working properly before adding a transmission cooler. I recommend you take the truck to a certified...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendations for a 2000 Dodge Ram 5.2 Towing a Travel Trailer
Derale Transmission Pan Cooler # D14210 for Dodge trucks with the A518, A618 or A727 transmission has a larger capacity than the stock one and has turbulator tubes allow air to flow through to dissipate heat for better cooling. Derale estimates that this cooler can reduce the transmission fluid temperature by as much as 20 to 50 degrees but I would say around 20 is a safe bet. This type of cooler will help with the fluid temperature but a supplemental cooler, # D13504, will be a better...
