Video Transcript for Titan Brake Actuator T4395100 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number T4395100. This is the replacement master cylinder assembly. This replacement assembly is going to fit Titan model 60 and Aero 7500 trailer brake actuators. It's designed for drum brakes only. You can see here everything that it's going to come with. We're going to go over just the components.

It's going to come with a master cylinder. Nice, heavy duty design. It's got the rubberized boot here on the end of it. If we remove that boot on the inside you're going to be able to see that it does come with the snap ring, the spring, and the seals. All of that is going to already be in place and again, located behind the boot.

It's also going to come with your gasket. It's going to be this right here, it's going to come with the master cylinder cover. You're going to get the orifice connector, goes into the threaded portion here at the back of your brake line. It's going to come with the hardware. You're going to get your four hex bolts. Those are going to measure 3/4 of an inch long by 1/4 inch in diameter, and you're going to get your 1/4 inch lock washers.

Has the diaphragm style filler cap, and just a quick tech tip, one of the ways to tell if the master cylinder is designed for disc or drum brakes is to simply take a paper clip and you can straighten it out. If we push it into this area back here, if it only goes in about an inch and a half that means that it's designed for drum brakes only. If the paper clip was to go in about three inches, then that means that it would be designed for disc brakes. That's going to do it for our review of part number T4395100. This is the replacement master cylinder assembly from Titan.

Ordered replacement master cylinder for my 2000 Eagle trailer. Eagle trailer is no longer in business but Etrailer was able to provide what I needed. Arrived on schedule and worked perfectly.

by:

It is working like it should, (1998 boat trailer) only time will tell so ask me in 10 years,
quick delivery just a little spendy but I needed the part sooner rather than later, have purchased a lot of parts over the years from e-trailer and never had any problems with the products,

by:

Exactly what I expected. Looking nice. Packed nice. Want to install it later today.

by:

Exactly what I needed, sent promptly and without hassle!

It did arrive missing one screw/washer, unfortunately, but since I was changing out the old assembly, I had the used screws and it was not an issue.

I will definitely be using etrailer again.

by:

Direct replacement. Exact fit. Trailer is back on the road.

by:

Cover gasket doesn't seal very well but it ok holding brakes.

by:

Looks like a great unit. Wrong Master Cylinder for my Atwood replacement which was obsolite. Would not fit.

by:

don't really know yet still renovating the boat to make floatable so haven't pulled yet

by:

The product was a exact fit and of high quality, ariv red d on tome wigh no is issues

by:

Works great just what i needed .

by:

Replaced rusted up one perfectly.

by:

The part was received in good order. The transaction was easy. Thank You.

by:

Perfect fit and best price out there. Was delivered faster then my prime membership would have. Easy install and (thanks to etrailer) have a whole new braking system under my Outlaw.
Thanks Steven & etrailer for listening and your expert follow up!!

by:

Came complete with everything needed!

by:

Fits and works perfectly. Rebuilt entire coupler and trailer springs

by:

Good product at a good price. Got it installed and the system bled (the old brake fluid looked like thin mud coming out!) and everything works well. Install was easy, with the exception that the old master cylinder that I removed looks to have been just a hair shorter than this one that I got from etrailer. The new one was a tiny bit too tall for it to slide in the back of the actuator. I ended up removing the actuator from the tongue of the trailer to get the master cylinder bolted onto it. With the four master cylinder bolts torqued down it fit fine and the actuator easily went back into place on the tongue.

I do wish it had a metal cap like the old one that it replaced, but that is not a huge deal. I hope the plastic one holds up.

The plastic master cylinder cap seems to leak. Other than that, its fine.

by:

I needed this part to replace a rusted and blocked cylinder on a boat trailer. The part was delivered earlier than I expected and was exactly what I needed. The price was right and the service was superb.

Made the trailer connection like new. Have had zero problems with the brake assembly

by:

Quick delivery, excellent customer service and great prices, as usual.

When I installed the Brake Fluid Master Cylinder reservoir on the coupler. It was a bit oversized in height. Finally was able to bolt on. Then when I was screwing in the four top bolts to hold the reservoir in place, one of the bolts snapped off in the housing. It will have to be extruded somehow.

Brake lines - no problem.

Dale

by:

Like new after rebuild with all your pa rts

by:

This is the direct replacement for my Titan hitch. It appears to have an anodized exterior coating that should resist rust.

Perfect!

by:

I ordered the brake actuator replacement for the Titan Model 60, paid extra for the UPS ground shipping and had the part in 6 days! You must take apart the brake actuator from the hitch as not to damage the gasket when installing the part. Had it installed in 15 minutes. Another 15 to bleed the drum brakes and all is well. LGB (lets go boating)

by:

Brakes were rebuilt with etrailer parts and are working great. Thanks // etrailer.

Still performing great

by:

Etrailer transaction was easy and the shock and master cylinder arrived fast. The m/c installed without any mods and now my boat trailer is a dream to tow.

by:

The master cylinder I reicieved is as good as anywhere else plus etrailer was the cheapest and fast delivery. Will do business with again.

For an Aero 6000 master cylinder kit the part # T4714200042 will work with disc brakes and would be what you would need. This is not a complete kit though and you would need to reuse some components. The drum brake master cylinder wouldn't create enough brake line pressure for disc brakes.

The Replacement Master Cylinder Assembly # T4395100 has been very reliable and has received great reviews from the customers who've purchased it. It's the exact same master cylinder that is originally included with the Titan Model 60 and Aero 7500 and it is the only replacement cylinder you will find to fit. • Which Replacement Master Cylinder for Titan Model 60 Brake Actuator
There are both drum and disc brake versions of the Titan Model 60 brake actuator available and you'll know what you have based on whether or not your trailer has drum or disc brakes. Disc brakes require higher pressure on the brake lines to actuate, so they'll have a master cylinder capable of providing higher pressure, but the only way of knowing what you really have is based off the trailer brakes. If your trailer has drum brakes you need the Replacement Master Cylinder Assembly for...

  • Difference Between Model 60 Surge Trailer Brake Actuators that Fit Disc and Drum Brakes
Trailer drum and disc brakes require different psi ratings so that's why the part # T47154007K can only be used on disc brakes. Drums usually need 1,000 psi whereas disc needs 1,600 psi. For a version of this coupler that is designed for drum brakes you'd want the part # T43329007K. Or you can change out the master cylinders to fit the application. For a Model 60 actuator like this the part # T4820000 is for disc and part # T4395100 is for drum. To convert either actuator would only take...

  • Can 1600 PSI Pressure from Actuator be Used with Drum Brake Assemblies
Brake actuators designed for drum brakes typically produce around 1,000 psi pressure at most, while disc brake actuators will produce closer to the 1,600-psi pressure that you mentioned in your question. I do not recommend using a disc brake actuator for drum brakes, as the higher pressure could blow out the wheel cylinders of a drum brake assembly.
