Great technical knowledge and follow up.

by:

Great service, nice/knowledgeable people, and very good price. Thank you.

The longer shank arrived a day early and it was in great condition. I attached the head to it this morning without a hitch (that was an attempt at humor). I will be setting up the weight distribution and trailer alignment in a few day.

Thank you for the great service on both the equalizer hitch I purchased a few weeks ago and the longer shank that I need to set up our 21 foot Escape with the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

by:

Got this for my Tacoma to link up to a 7x14’ Vnose trailer. Needed the extra drop for the Equalizer hitch.

by:

Worked as advertised. Tested it the next day with 13750 lbs.

by:

Excellent service and products, quick shipping; I come to etrailer originally for trailer jacks, and then bought the Equalizer anti sway trailer system which is heavy duty, well-made, and also came quickly. Very happy with the knowledgeable staff!

by:

Bought along with Equalizer hitch. Arrived packaged with the hitch. Measure the coupler height before you order. Our couple is 31" high so standard shank will not work. Knowing that in advance saves money and hassle. Great customer service.

by:

Works as advertised, and mated up nicely with my Husky Center Line weight distribution system.

by:

Thanks you for the high quality hitch shank. It fit perfect and was exactly what I need. But most all was the the extremely fast S/H. Thanks. Will be shopping again. Thanks

by:

These folks have their act together. Great measurements and instructions for everything they sell. Fast shipping too.

by:

By far one of the best customer service experiences EVER!! We recommend etrailer hands down!

by:

Sowed up in great condition on the date that it was schediuled to arrive.

Great customer support and service.

Thank you Julie & Nicky!!

by:

Works perfectly!. Solved our turning radius problem between our trailer A-Frame mounted bike rack (Lippert Jack-It 2) and the canopy on our P/U.

by:

Turned out, to be just what I needed. I have 5.5ft bed in my truck. Pulling my trailer now allows me to drive with the tailgate down and my dirt bike in the bed. Only thing to keep an eye on is your turning radius, it's not as tight. Overall, well built. But if the hitch pin hole was 2 inches longer, it would help with the turning radius. I like it.

by:

My Tahoe hatch would hit my RV jack when opening. Adding this shank made it open completely, without hitting. One thing to remember is to check your safety chains length. To insure they reach to connect to you tow hitch.

by:

I haven't used this hitch shank yet but it looks and feels pretty solid. It took a total of three days from order to doorstep and that's awesome. I emailed trailer with questions and they were answered the next morning. The answers were very professional and to the point. I have ordered from trailer before and they have always delivered a good product quickly.

by:

Bought it so I could open my tail gate when hitch to the trailer. The tail gate would hit the electric tong jack. On some jacks you can easily modifiy the jack to turn to side ways position. In my case not a simple mod. So I went to 18 inch shank.

by:

I needed the longer shank to to clear my lift gate hitting my propane tanks. Works great!!! Came 1 day sooner than expected

by:

Great for those that need a bit more room between the trailer jack and tailgate while hitched up!

Yes, you can use any of the holes on the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4200 and it is also interchangeable with the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4400. As long as your trailer is still as level as possible, then you won't have any problems.

The head unit of the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37101ET weighs a little over 20 lbs while the pair of spring bars weigh about 35 lb (total, not each). This system does not come with a shank so depending on the rise or drop you need you can use Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank - 12" Long - 8" Rise, 4" Drop # EQ90-02-4200 or Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank - 12" Long - 7" Rise, 3" Drop # EQ90-02-4100. • Needing Deeper Drop Shank for Husky HT32215 Center Line Weight Distribution System
The shank originally supplied with your Center Line weight distribution allowed for a maximum of a 1-1/4 inch drop. Since the shanks are brand-interchangeable with identical spacing of the adjustment holes, you'll just need to find a shank that has a deeper drop. The # EQ90-02-4200 from Equal-i-zer would provide up to a 4 inch drop or the # EQ90-02-4300 would provide up to 6 inches of drop.

Fastway is made by the same company as Equal-i-zer; The Fastway brand is an entry level company and the Equal-i-zer is the higher line. So the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4300 is essentially the same as the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Shank # FA92-02-4214.

Yes, if you have a lifted truck then you would want to purchase the weight distribution system and shank separately as this will then allow you to obtain a shank that has the correct amount of drop for your truck without having to purchase an extra one. For starters, you will need the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37101ET and then you can obtain one of the following: Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank - part # EQ90-02-4200 (4" Drop) Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution...

  • Weight Distribution Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Ford Raptor Towing Airstream Globetrotter
In order to choose the correct weight distribution system for your truck and trailer, it is really important to know your trailer's loaded and ready to tow tongue weight. Since this is the primary weight being distributed by a weight distribution system, it is the main factor in choosing a properly rated system. If you end up towing your camper at it's max gross vehicle weight rating of 6,500 lbs, and the tongue weight falls between 10% and 15% of the total trailer weight, we can expect...

  • How to Determine Correct Shank For Weight Distribution Hitch
To determine the correct shank for your weight distribution hitch, you need to find the rise or drop you need, just like with a standard ball mount. This is only two measurements - first, measure from the ground to the top of your hitch receiver opening. Then measure from the ground to the bottom of your trailer coupler. If your hitch height is greater, you'll need a shank with that amount of drop; if your coupler height is greater, use shank with that amount of rise. For example, let's...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 10,000 lbs Dump Trailer
Tongue weight is what you'll want to go off of. Tongue weight is typically between 10% and 15% of a trailer's total weight but since yours is a dump trailer we'll go off of the 1,200 lbs you mentioned. I recommend using the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution w/ 4-Point Sway Control item # EQ37141ET. This system tops out at 14,000 lbs and has a 1,000 lbs - 1,400 lbs tongue weight range.
