Video Transcript for Firestone 1/4" Air Line Tubing Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Firestone, this is 30 feet of one quarter inch diameter red line tubing. Now this airline tubing kit includes 30 feet of red quarter inch diameter tubing. That's used with the Firestone Air Helper Spring Systems. This is a heavy gauge nylon tubing, and the maximum pressure on this is 150 PSI at a quarter inch diameter. That should do it for the review on the Firestone 30 feet of quarter inch diameter red airline tubing.

To Install the Firestone Air Command I part # F2097 along with Firestone Air Bags like part # F2598 on the 2018 Ram 2500 there are some extra parts from the video needed that are not included with the Air Command kit. I have attached a list below of these parts to make your installation process go smoothly. 10 feet of extra wire- # DW04923-1 fuse tap kit- # F2526 Air Line- # F9416 (if adding compressor to existing air bags) 3/16" drill bit 3/8" drill bit 1/4" drill bit power drill wire...

  • Swapping Old Firestone Air Bags From A 2018 Chevy Silverado To A 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty
Thank you for the pictures you sent to help verify the 6401 air bag used in your old # F2400 kit. Unfortunately the compatible kits for your 2020 Ford F-250 Super duty use the 8397 and 6397 air bags so you won't be able to just swap out the brackets to reuse them on the newer truck. Instead I recommend installing the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle # F35FV. These 5,000-lb Capacity Ride-Rite air springs will enhance your factory suspension for safety...

  • Max PSI Rating for Firestone 1/4" Air Line Tubing
Both the Firestone 1/4" Air Line Tubing in Black # F9153 and Red # F9416 have max psi ratings of 150. I took a look at the different air bag and compressor kits from Firestone and it looks like these are interchanged for different applications so I think the color coding is for kit consistency than anything. Attached is a review video for you to check out!

  • How to Control Air Pressure of Bags on Motorhome that Already has Compressor and Tank
I spoke to my contact at Firestone and after describing to him what you are looking to do he recommended the part # F2574. This is a control panel that will give you the ability to control both sides of your motorhome bags. You will need to run air lines from your current compressor tank to this panel, and then from the panel to the air bags. You will probably need air line as well like part # F9416 which is 30 feet of line.

  • Troubleshooting Leak In Firestone Air Springs On Both Sides of Vehicle
There's definitely a leak somewhere on your Firestone Air Spring System if the bags are bleeding out after only a few days. It's not too uncommon that the springs on both sides lose air as a result of this. The simplest way to try and locate where the leak is taking place is to apply a solution of soap and water to the fittings, air lines, and air bags while the system is fully inflated. If there's a leak you will see little air bubbles appear at the source within a couple seconds. If...

Yes, the Ride-Rite air bags for the 2000 Ford F-250 are 6401 air bags and can be reused on the 2012 Ram 3500. I do recommend to check your air bags to make sure the side of them says 6401 just to be sure. The number is stamped on the side of the air bags like in the photo shown. I have listed the parts needed to install the 6401 bags on the 2012 Ram. • Troubleshooting ELR Error Code on Firestone Compressor Remote
From what I have found, the EL code is the designation for a leak error. The "R" is telling you that the right air spring is the component that is leaking. In order to locate the leak, apply a solution of soap and water to the fitting, air bag, and air line while it is inflated. You will be able to see air bubbles where the leak is located. If you find that it is just the air line, you can replace it with # F9416. If it is coming from where the fitting and air line meet, it is possible...

  • How to Attach Firestone Air Line Tubing to the Firestone Elbow Connector
The Firestone Elbow Connector, # F3289-1, is designed to accept Firestone 1/2 inch Air Line Tubing. The connection is made by making a square smooth cut on the tubing and pushing it into the connector. If the connection needs to be taken apart, this can be accomplished by holding in on the collar at the end of the push fitting and pulling out on the hose. To make the the square smooth cut a tubing cutter is recommended, part # AL10530, It will help make the connection leak proof. If you...

  • A Lot of Sway With Ride-Rite # F2025 Installed on 1998 Chevy Silverado Carrying Lance 992 Camper
The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2025 are the correct air springs for your 1998 Chevy Silverado 3500, however according to my technical contact at Firestone you should not be experiencing any sway issues. The most probable cause of the sway is the inflation level does not work well with your set up. Since this is a new set up, you may want to play around with air pressure, drive around a bit and adjust as required. My contact also said that your sway issue may have to do...

  • How to Find an Air Leak on a Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Spring System
The maximum air pressure that the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F2355 can be filled to is 100 psi. In addition to max pressure there will need to be a minimum of 5 psi in the airbags at all times in order to avoid deformity. The airbags should stay inflated to the psi at which they are set to. If they lose air over time like you mentioned then you have an air leak somewhere in the system. The best way to find an air leak would involve mixing up a bottle of soap/water and...

  • What is the Outer Diameter and Air Pressure Rating for Firestone Air Tubing
Firestone air hose, # F9416, is 1/4 inch outside diameter. If you hover your mouse over the picture you can see the writing on the tube indicating 1/4 OD. The tubing is used for Firestone air bag suspension systems which can handle pressures up to 150 psi. The tubing can probably handle a little more than that but for safety it is not recommended to go over 150 psi.

Firestone does indeed offer replacement 1/4 inch air line. The length offered is 30 feet, part # F9416. When inserting the air line into the fittings, having a perfectly squared cut is crucial to avoid leakage. We recommend using a tubing cutter like part # AL10530.

If you have a leak somewhere then this may be preventing one of your springs from inflating....

I spoke with my contact at Firestone and they confirmed that the threads of the Replacement Brass 1/4" Male Air Line Fitting # F2135823463 you referenced are 1/4 inch NPT. This size is 1/4 inch with 18 threads per inch like you mentioned wanting as well. For 30 feet of 1/4 inch air tube we have the part # F9416 as well. We've never specifically had a customer come back and tell us they were trying to make the conversion you described but I am sure it would be perfectly fine.

To release air lines from fittings like the part # F3025-1 all you need to do is push in on the collar of the fitting while pulling the air line out and it will release. Since you are replacing leaky line you could certainly use old fittings as long as they too are working well. I attached a picture that shows where to push to get the line to release.

  • Recommended Firestone Air Springs for 2019 Silverado 3500
Your Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle # F2709 from your 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 is the exact same kit I recommend for your 2019 Silverado 3500. You will not need to change out your brackets or anything else unless there is damage. Personally I would use the Firestone 1/4" Air Line Tubing - 30' Long, Red # F9416 to have new lines, but that isn't required if the current lines are still in good shape. I just like the peace of mind from having new lines.
