    I spoke with Flex-a-lite about this and the way they suggest to remove the motor shaft from a fan like # FLX10824 is to wrap your fingers around on the other side of the blades and keep your thumbs on the front side and work it out bit by bit. If this doesn't work another suggestion is to take a small file and lightly file into the grove on top of the motor shaft. There is sometimes a bur inside that grove that you can lightly file away.
