Video Transcript for All You Need to Know About the Fulton Galvanized Winch Cable with Hook

Today we're going to be taking a look at Part number FWC7500100. This is the Fulton galvanized Wench cable. It's going to have the hook on one end, and the exposed cable on the other end. The exposed cable end is going to be the end that feeds into the wench. You're going to have the cable with the safety latch on the opposite side. It's designed for use with Fulton wenches.

It's a galvanized cable, very strong and very durable. Again, it's going to include that hook with the safety latch to prevent accident while disconnecting. The overall length of the cable is going to measure 50 feet long. Cable's going to give us a diameter of 7/32 of an inch. The maximum load or break strength is 5,600 pounds.

A safe working load limit is 1,865 pounds. Please note that all straps and cables should be chosen according to their safe working load limit, which is always going to be a third of their maximum load or break strength. That's going to do it for today's review of part number FWC7500100. .

Seems to be high quality and I bought it for my new Fulton winch.

I tried to write a review on your link
below, but no luck tonight. We have completed our ATV/Tractor log arch (pictures attached) of which included the Dutton-Laison Hand Winch (DL14881) and the 7/32" x 50' Fulton Galvanized Winch Cable(FWC7500100). I purchased both items from etrailer, and together they work to easily drag and then load up 14" to 22" white pine logs into the log arch. While most logs are 8' long, the winch will easily handle a 16' log. The winches hand brake works very well in tandem with the down mode of the winch handle, when lowering a heavy log back onto the ground. Both of these items met and exceeded my expectations for both quality and price point, plus another bonus is the winch is made in the USA. I am very happy to say that you and etrailer have made our log arch project a big success!

I use my Dutton-Lainson Worm Gear Winch with Hex Drive and Fulton Winch Cable to raise and lower my Purple Martin Gourd Racks. They were an excellent choice and I just use a Cordless Drill to do all the work.! My old winches had cranks. They were jerky and hard to crank! These winches are so easy to use, no cranking, no straining, no sweat, they stop when you stop.!! Very Strong, Safe and Reliable Winches that work Great!! Wish I'd got them years ago!

by:

Worked well to lift 34' X 18" Laminated Veneer lumber.

by:

as per usual, etrailer delivery is quick (though still awaiting one back order item-1.5 wks).

Before ordering, I posted a question that wasn't exactly answered. In spite of the "e-trailer expert" recommending a different winch and a different mounting plate, the D-L winch with worm gear (listed below) retrieves more than adequately for safety when outfitted with 3/8" drive hand drill.

This set up (once 2" receiver mounting bar arrives), will be ideal to winch our light weight travel trailer up a slight incline into our angled storage unit.

Has been working great for a year, used twice a day for our bedroom stairs in our tiny house. Very easy to use. We use synthetic line so it doesn't bind and is much quieter than steel cable for our use. Our stairs are a couple of hundred pounds and the winch pulls it up with no issue and the brake works fantastic.

I bought this cable to replace the cable on a pontoon scissor lift trailer winch. Cable rating for this size is much higher than big box store ones. Hook already on is a bonus. Very quick delivery and excellent communication from the seller. Great company to deal with.

by:

I would have rather spent 300 dollars on a nylon fulton boat winch than this cable. After winding it up the cable gets stuck, and is very hard to release.

by:

Good, powerful Fulton winch. Cable loaded good. Winch is awesome. Good quick service from nice folks.

by:

Cable seems very high quality. heavy duty. Should work well for my car trailer.

I always shop etrailer when I am looking for trailer parts. Fast Service.

by:

Love this boat synch, very heavy duty
My
boat weighs 10,000 lbs and this does a good job
Showed it to my boat dealer and they liked it
Thanks e-trailer

by:

Cable assembly appears great. Courteous and prompt customer service. Weld at end of cable could have been a little less bulky, but nothing a little grinder couldn't handle in seconds.

by:

Great cable for me! Works well on the Fulton Winch

by:

I ordered a manual winch for by boat trailer, but was unsure of the size, the woman on the phone helped me - she had a list of the required loads for different sloped boat ramps and helped me pick out the correct winch. She helped me tremendously. I was impressed that they would take that time to help.

by:

Great product and even better service ! I ordered at 9.00pm and it was shipped at10.pm. I received the winch cable 36 hours later. Awesome service !!!!

by:

This product worked great for a boat trailer I have with a rusted cable. I saved a lot of money only buying what I needed instead of an entire winch assembly. Shipment came in on time.

by:

I am now picking up winch and cable from USA tomorrow but your service is professional, timely and excellent

by:

Shipped fast. High quality wire rope. Nice product.

by:

No issues, proper parts at the cheapest price I could find.

  • Line Capacity of Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch # F142430
The Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch # F142430 referenced in your question does indeed have a drum storage capacity of 185 feet of 7/32 inch cable. The longest 7/32 inch cable we have available is the Fulton # FWC7500100 that measures 50 feet long and also includes a hook. This hand winch features a 3,700 pound weight capacity and will work really nicely for your general purpose lifting or pulling as it does include a hand brake to let you manually control release of a load...

  • Winch Recommendation for 3,190 lb Boat
The 3,200 lb 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch with 20' Strap and Brake # 315-W3200D will be sufficient to pull in your 3,190 lb boat if your trailer has rollers on it as that will make your boat easier to move. If you have bunks then it will technically work but you'll be pushing the winch to the limit so you'll want to use a winch with a higher weight rating like this one: - 3,700 lb Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch with Handbrake # F142430 - Fulton Galvanized Winch Cable with...

  • Recommended Kayak Ceiling Storage for 2 Kayaks
To raise and lower your kayaks, I recommend the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch with TUFFPLATE Finish, Two Speed with Direct Drive - 1,800 lbs # DL15504. This winch provides an easy to use hand brake to make lowering your kayaks fast and easy. This will work with a strap like # DL24249 or a cable like # DL24045. Another option without the hand brake is the Pro Series Standard Brake Winch - Cable Only - 1,000 lbs # PSKR10000301 with cable # FWC7500100. This has a minimum weight of 50 lbs for...

  • Can Fulton Winch 143200 Be Used With A Winch Strap?
I reached out to my contact at Fulton and the 143200 you mentioned is only compatible with a cable. If you are needing a cable you can use the Fulton Galvanized Winch Cable with Hook - 50' x 7/32" - 5,600 lbs # FWC7500100. I included a video of the # FWC7500100 for you to take a look at.

  • Solutions for Fulton T3700 Winch with Broken Cable
The current version of your Fulton T3700 is the part # F142430 which is a cable-only winch like what you have. Best options I have would be a new cable for yours that is broke like with part # FWC7500100 for a 50 foot cable or to go with a new winch that uses a strap instead like the Jif Marine part # 315-W3200D which has a similar 3,200 lb capacity. Only downside to the straps is they aren't as long as the cables since the layers add up quicker. This comes with a 20 foot long strap.

  • How to Determine What Size Boat that a Winch Can Pull
The Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch with Handbrake # F142430 that you referenced has a 3,700 lbs weight capacity. The size and weight of the boat that it can pull really depends on what your boat trailer setup is like. A boat to winch size capacity is typically 2 to 1 which means that this particular winch should typically be able to pull a 7,000 lb boat. If you have good rollers and a short distance to pull then that could make the ratio 3 to 1. If you have wooden bunks...

  • Electric and Hand Winch Recommendation For 6,600 Lb Boat
I am happy to recommend a couple of winches for you. Since your boat on rollers is just over the 2:1 ratio you need a winch with a capacity of at least half the weight of your boat. For an electric winch, I recommend Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch # BDW15020 which has a 4,400 lb rating and will work really well for your application. It includes a 50' long x 1/4" (6 mm) diameter rope with a convenient hand held water proof remote. The only hand winch I recommend for the weight of your boat...

  • How to Select Appropriate Winch for Car Hauler Trailer
Both the Fulton # F142421 and the Dutton Lainson # DL15440 2-speed hand winches are rated for 3200-lbs maximum capacity. The Fulton works only with wire rope # FWC7500100 but the Dutton Lainson works with a wire rope # DL24104 or a polyester strap # DL24251. Although both are intended for use on a boat trailer they could certainly be used in a car trailer application so long as they offered the required pulling capacity. Most of the time car trailers use an electric winch, like one of...

  • Recommend Hand Winch To Winch a 21.5 Foot 4,000 lb Boat
The guideline when selecting a winch is to weigh the boat when it is fully loaded and ready to travel with supplies, gas, etc. Then, take the gross weight and divide by 1.5, which will tell you the capacity winch you will need. You will want to weigh your boat with it loaded like you were going on a boat outing. If you are trying to winch the boat without submerging the trailer and not getting your bunks wet, this can add more strain to the winch. If you are doing so, you would want to...

  • Winch Recommendation for 10,000 lb Boat
The best option we carry for a 10,000 lb boat is the Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch # F142430 which has a 3,700 lb capacity with Cable # FWC7500100. The winch to boat size capacity is 2-to-1 though it can also be 3-to-1 if you have really good rollers and are not using the winch for much distance. So if you have those conditions this winch will be able to pull a 10,000 lb boat. I have added a link to a video review of this winch for you to take a look at.

  • Recommended Boat Trailer Winch For 5,000 lb Boat
We can get you set up with a good replacement for your 2,600 lb Fulton winch, but let's start with what you asked in regards to the strap vs. the cable, with the latter being the better choice. A strap is fine but there is a risk of fraying or tearing, which doesn't exist with the use of a cable, so I do recommend a winch and cable set up. In regards to the winch itself, winch capacity is at least 2-to-1, so if your boat weighs over 5,000 lbs, it is understandable why your 2,600 lb winch...

  • Boat Trailer Winch that Has Capacity for 18,000 lb Boat
With boat winches you generally only need 50 percent of the boats weight as the winch's weight capacity. So for a 18,000 lb boat like you have you'd need a winch with at least a 9,000 lb capacity. For that we have the Fulton XLT Powered Winch part # F500621 which has a 10,000 lb capacity and would be your best option. The strap is only 15 feet long though so you'd need to make sure you could get the boat within 15 feet from being fully on the trailer.

Winches have the ability to pull their listed load on level ground. Your inline will add just over 50% so you'd multiply the capacity by about 1.86 according to the attached article.
