Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Furrion stainless steel microwave trim kit. This is a trim kit that's going to mount onto your Furrion standard microwave. This will work for both the standard black microwave, and the standard mirror glass microwave that you see on the screen there. So if you have either one of those, this is going to fit right around your microwave. It is constructed of a hearty plastic, and so it is going to withstand your vibrations and bumps that you experience in your RV while traveling.
And it does have that stainless steel color, so it is gonna give it a nice, sleek, finished look. Everything you're gonna need to get this installed is included, including the metal mounting plates that will install right onto your microwave itself. The screws that you're gonna need to mount these onto your microwave, and then get it mounted onto your cabinet as well as instructions to walk you through that process step by step. Now these mounting brackets, do use the holes that are already in the sides of your RV's microwave. So I've got the black microwave here so you can see what these are gonna look like once you have them installed.
So we've got our screws there in those pre-drilled holes in the microwave, and it's gonna give us these nice solid mounting brackets. So then it's very simple to get our trim put in place. We just slide it over top the microwave there, and then click it in. We've got tabs on the backside here that are going to click into those openings in our metal bracket. And then it's gonna give us that nice finished look there.
So as far as our dimensions go, make sure that this is gonna fit in your RV's kitchen. You can see this is right about 23 1/2 inches wide by about 15 inches tall. You can see that it doesn't have a super snug fit around the microwave, so we are gonna have just a little bit of gap going around there. Our inner opening dimension is right about 19 3/8 of an inch wide by about 10 5/8 of an inch. So it is gonna give us a nice look on our microwave.
It's not going to be a perfect fit, but it is designed for these microwaves, so that's the way it's supposed to fit for you. I'm gonna go ahead and remove this again. So if you are looking for a stainless steel look for your microwave to give it kind of that finished feel, give it a more sleek put together look, this is gonna do a great job for you. Included screws provide a secure hold.I bought this trim package as a replacement for our non Furrion micro because the dimensions were close enough. With only minor modification, it fit and worked perfectly. This replaced a one piece stainless steel unit that had fractured due to stress and poor design. Quite happy with etrailer and this purchase.
This looks great on the microwave, gives it just a bit of stainless look.
Its not a real snug fit so hopefully there are no issues driving down the road with it.
we would have really liked to see photos of it on the microwave before we bought it so i have added some here
