7-Way Vehicle Power Adapter for Furrion RV Observation Camera

This short cable immediately fixed the problem we had. On its own, our 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500 does not supply enough current to power all 4 of our Furrion cameras. We've been running with only one (which is installed in the 5th wheels mfg. supplied Furrion mount) of the 4 cameras while driving. This cable does some rewiring to the circuit which allows all 4 to run as intended.

The cable cable unit is well build with good components, about 9" long and simply plugs in between our 7 pin trailer cord and the trucks 7 pin socket. the connetion is very firm and should not come out during use.

The female end is capped and has a small flange which would allow someone to permanently into a body panel, which I did not do.

Bought this for my 2022 Chevy 2500. It was a new truck that I’d only towed with a couple times when I purchased the adapter. Pulled with it for the last 10 months and doing an emergency stop on last trip I surmised that my trailer brakes were shot as I barely stopped in time. Had the trailer checked out and brakes were good. Tried it without the adapter and I had great brakes again. I always felt the trailer brakes were weak since purchasing this truck and assumed it was the truck. It was the adapter. A very dangerous purchase. Now I’m back to no camera, but at least I can stop. On a side note I tried the adapter once more and it’s totally inop now. No camera or brakes. Just lights.1686645

I am so sorry to hear that. How frustrating! I reached out to the manufacturer and it looks like their thought is you may just have a faulty adapter. I sent you a email requesting some information for a warranty claim.

I had high hopes this was the answer to my problems and I would finally be able to use the RV backup camera! And it would be as simple as plugging in my RV lights!
-Picked up this adaptor as my tow rig is a '21 Chevy's with the screwy trailer park light system that can't power a back up camera. My RV is a 45' 5th wheel so this adaptor was only used inside the pick up box with plenty of slack cable, no stresses ever applied and really overall protected.
-The sad part is this adaptor didn't last even two fairly short trips.
-It worked great when first connected and tested before the first trip out. But noticed some issues with the trailer park lamps - at random - on that trip. Camera did work this time. Figured a dirty connector contact so cleaned all the terminals on the truck and trailer connectors. Seemed like it helped on the return trip. Daylight driving though and when I turned on the lights for the camera, they and the camera worked.
-On the second trip out the truck started to give random trailer light warnings, none on the first trip, and the RV park lights really started to not work properly. Had to remove the adaptor to have park lights, once removed all the lights went back to normal and no warnings. Finished the trip to camp and couldn't use the camera, again.
-Reconnected for the return trip and installed the adaptor to give it another shot. So disappointing, no park light function at all AND now no right lamp function. Removed the adaptor and connected like regular - NO issues at all then and for the entire trip home, of course no camera function then.
-Overall extremely disappointed with this purchase and would not recommend this item to anyone.1632892

UPDATE: I wish to make clear that in NO WAY is this review a reflection on etrailer.com! I have always received GREAT SERVICE and PRODUCTS from these guys! After my initial review above, etrailer.com reached out, as noted above, and I proceeded with the warranty exchange - very easily handled with a couple of emails and shipped the defective part back. Kudos to etrailer.com! The replacement showed up in a reasonable time. The drawback was I was unable to utilize the replacement right away and had to wait until the last week of Sept 2023 to again connect to my camper. I had hopes that I had just gotten a bum original part and this replacement would take care of it. And once again, I will have to give this product a 1-star review and strongly recommend against it for GM truck owners. I hitched up to my camper, opened the package and plugged it in. Proceeded to do a light check walk around and had no park lights at all! Or camera Rechecked all the connections, OK. Removed this adaptor and directly connected the trailer again - all lamps work properly. The original unit worked properly for a little while this replacement unit didnt work right out of the sealed package! I had the thought that, OK, perhaps it is my vehicle. I plugged this adaptor into a friends camper and truck, also a 2021 GM product with a 5th wheel, same failure! This is a great, simple idea to address these new truck trailer light rear camera issues that plague us these days. As much as the trailer back up camera can help you when its needed, I feel it is way more a priority to have dependably operating trailer lights at all times. Maybe these units can eventually be tuned or fixed to work with each of the truck manufacturers properly and dependably. Until then, I strongly advise against wasting your money on this adaptor if you are driving a GM product.

Still working perfectly!

After 2 years finally got the adapter needed to use with a 2021 Silverado. I wish that Furrion had come out with a wireless adapter to connect to the Silverado integrated trailer camera connection. It now works flawlessly though on my Furrion display. Thanks etrailer!1364805

Great! No issues and the Furrion 7pin adapter has worked perfectly on my 2021 Silverado.

I have a known issue trying to connect a Furrion rear camera system thru a MY23 GM pickup. The truck electronics + my trailer do not allow the camera to connect to the display as designed, this harness was supposed to be the fix for the issue. After much troubleshooting on several trips after receiving this part, I've concluded that this part does not solve the issue for all cases. I confirmed my camera/monitor combination works correctly as I was able to successfully connect using a MY20 Jeep directly to the vehicle plug-in. Please don't advertise as "The" fix for this issue if it doesn't work in all cases.1678819

This worked out great for solving our GMC LED lights not sending enough power to our Furion back up camera issue. Though we do have to disconnect it in the rain or, for some reason, the running lights on the trailer go on and stay on all night.1645925

Caused intermittent fault codes in my 2022 GMC 3500. Had to purchase an additional adapter to then correct this issue. Finally hard wired the power lead to the camera to a separate switch which rectified the entire issue. Would be happy to make someone a deal on the pair of adapters.....1647480

I just upgraded from a 2019 Chevy 3500 to a 2022 Chevy 3500. I pull a 5th wheel that uses a 7 pin plug that I connect to the truck. With the new truck, I could not get the observation camera on the rear of my RV to power up. Read online that this was a problem with the newer GM trucks. Googled for an adapter and etrailer popped up. Since I have bought several things from etrailer over the years, I trust their technical advice. Suggested I get the power adapter FR87PR. Ordered the adapter and received it within 5 days due to the 4th of July holiday. Hooked up the adapter to the truck plug then to the RV and now my observation camera works as it should. The Instant I connected the harness i got a clear continuous video from the camera. I do not have Furrion cameras rather a cheap knock off. Either way I am happy to see it works with my new truck as it did on my older truck. I have yet to drive with it but I can tell it will be fine.1648323

I have a 2023 1500 Denali. I recently bought a 2023 Tab 400, and put on the Furrion rear camera. Driving back from PA, to OK was a nightmare. The camera would work for 1-2 seconds, then go off for 15 or more seconds. After a couple hours of this, I unplugged the monitor. When I got home, I started doing research for a booster, or anything that would make the camera work. I found this adapter and decided to give it a try.
WOW, what a game changer!! With this adapter, I have immediate picture on my monitor, and there has not been any issues with the camera losing signal. This is a must for anyone who has a newer Chevy/GMC.1584439
