If your RV does not have a refrigerator vent or you need another entry option for your solar cables, the Go Power cable entry plate is a perfect solution. The plate makes it easier to connect your cables with pre-installed MC4 connectors and lets you choose a convenient entry point on your RV. Additionally, the covered housing helps protect your wiring while preventing leaks by covering and sealing the install area.
The MC4 connectors provide a quick way to attach the solar cables on the outside of your rig to your internal wiring. Inside the plate, the jam-nut is thread-locked to resist vibrations and protect the connections during travel. Additionally, the plate has channels on its underside that guide adhesive sealant during the mounting process to ensure a proper waterproof seal.
This cable entry plate comes pre-wired with 7' of MC4 cables for your internal RV connections. Typically, these will connect to your solar controller. Use 10 AWG to 6 AWG wire for additional internal wiring. The ideal location of the plate, as well as your solar panels and solar controller, is near the battery compartment. The total cable length should not exceed 25 feet. Using a drill, install the cable entry plate to your RV roof using 6 pan-head (#10 or #12, not included) screws.
Use a sealant that suits the material of your RV's exterior. If you have to attach the plate's cables to your internal wiring, you need compatible, heat shrinkable butt splices (10 AWG to 6 AWG wiring). Finally, as an additional safety measure, connect a 30-amp in-line fuse (not included) to the positive wire near the battery.

Also, the product that showed up does not look like the photo. It is missing the two holes that hold the wire after it exits the entry plate on the outside. There is also a piece of plastic on the underside that does not allow the plate to sit flat on the roof unless you drill an enormous hole (3/4”+). Not ideal. Will be returning.
Works great. Easy enough to install.
This is an excellent heavy duty pre-wired unit with MC4 connectors that will solve a dealer mess up. Dealer went through the sewer vent pipe boot. I plan to replace the boot and install this beside the vent to use the same chase. Good price and fast shipping. Customer service was tops in answering my questions too.
Good delivery as promised, product looks good, will update after installation
This little Go Power junction system made the job of running wires through my camper roof so much cleaner. Great item.
Works as intended but gave it 4 stars because it did not come with a gasket. You would think it would being that it is an entry port. Not a big deal, you just have to get some silicon
The wire and entry gland are made of quality materials.
