Hi everyone. It's Evie Angeline, here at etrailer. And today we are looking at the replacement rubber straps for Hollywood Racks bike racks here at etrailer. A reason you might be looking for replacement rubber straps is you've had your Hollywood Racks bike rack for a while. And you've noticed that maybe the rubber straps have lost elasticity. They've been out in the sun for too long where extreme weather conditions may affect the rubber.

These are usually strong and sturdy straps but things happen, which is why we offer replacements. This comes in a pack of six straps. So it does depend on what kind of bike rack you have in terms of, if you can replace all of your straps or not. If you have an anti-sway cradle you can replace up to two cradles worth of straps. If you have a three bike rack without any anti-sway you could replace all three.

These are eight and a half inch long rubber straps. They feel nice and durable. You then have different holes which you will use depending on the size of your bike. And let's say you have a larger frame, you can use the last hole and wrap that around the other knob on the other side of the cradle. A couple of tips that I've learned from using these bike racks all the time is it's really helpful to actually just switch around the straps so that they have an equal amount of wear and tear. Let's say you're using the closest one a lot more often than the furthest one, you can rotate them, just like you rotate your tires. Another helpful thing is, as you are driving around and you don't have a bike attached, please attach the other end and leave them strapped onto your cradle so that they're not flopping around in the wind.

And you decrease the chances of losing it or damaging it. Now the straps are just straps and you still have to follow the weight capacity, which is 35 pounds. As well as, please use the safety strap that comes with your bike racks, as you're carrying them. My final thoughts about these straps are that they are a really good idea to have on hand just in case something does happen to the straps that came with your bike rack. If they do snap or you do lose them, that way your bike isn't left in the wind, but you still have a way of securing them.
