Video Transcript for Hopkins Brake Controller HM47855 Review
Today we're going to be taking a look at part number HM47735. This is the Hopkins plug-in simple brake control wiring adapter. This unit is going to fit the Ford Super Duty vehicles. To see if this fits your particular model and year, you can refer to the vehicle fit guide located right here on our website. This adapter is designed to simplify the installation of your Hopkins electric brake controller. It simply is going to connect your Hopkins brake controller to your vehicle's factory tow package. The flat plug right here is going to be inserted in the back of your electric brake controller. This plug right here is a custom fit plug, that fits into the factory installed port under your dashboard. One of the great things about this adapter is that it does not require any cutting or splicing of the wires for installation.
All you have to do is plug it into the ports and then you're set to go. This does work with a variety of Hopkins brake controllers that have the female connector on the back of the controller. Today, I'm going to show you the agility. This is the port that I'm talking about right here. If you have a controller that has a port that looks like this, then this would be a fit for you. Really simple connection.
All's you have to do is plug the two pieces together. Push it until you hear it snap into position and then it's fully connected. To disconnect, all you have to do is lift up on the tab, wiggle the connections until they disconnect from one another. The amount of wiring we're going to have between the plugs is going to measure 36 inches. They're going to be taped at multiple points along the wiring. That's going to insure that the wires stay together and that they don't loosely hang by your pedals or behind the dash of your vehicle. That's going to do it for our review of part number HM47735.
