Hi there neighbors. Today we're going to be taking a look at Hopkins 4-flat mounting bracket. This bracket's going to be a great addition whenever you're installing Hopkins wiring onto your vehicle. It's designed to work specifically with Hopkins 4-pole flat connectors, to hold them nice and tight and give you a sturdy mounting point for you to place your 4-flat on the outside of your vehicle. What's nice about this is typically your 4-pole flat, you just hook onto your safety chain loop and it just hangs there. There are other bracket designs, but this one here is going to clamp nice and tight and hold your Hopkins in place, and it is easy to install because it comes with two self tapping screws so you can either run it into your bumper, you can run it into your hitch, or to any other types of bracket that you install on there. The bracket's constructed of a lightweight polypropylene.
It's going to be durable and resistant to UV rays and road grime. So this is going to be a great addition to any wiring install. It's going to keep your 4-pole flat in an easy to use location, and it's going to make it look nicer as well. This'll also keep your wiring up off the ground to ensure you have a long lasting 4-pole flat connection. This 4-pole flat bracket is quick and easy to install.
Your 4-pole flat will simply clamp in between the two sections. There is a small cutout on each side for your dust cap, if it does have a pre-attached dust cap like this one does. You just clamp it over and squeeze it shut.To get it mounted on the vehicle, you can either use the self tapping screws that come in the kit to mount it to the bottom of your hitch, or your bumper, or you could use a short bracket like the one we're using here. The short bracket's going to bring it further towards the rear to make it more accessible. And it's also going to keep us from having to modify anything so we don't have to drill holes in our hitch.
We don't have to drill any holes in the bumper. We can just mount it directly to this. Now the self tapping screws that come with it won't work, so you are going to have to provide your own hardware to get it mounted to the short bracket. There's also long brackets available if you need a further distance to extend it and bring it closer to the back. I'm going to take our hardware, we're going to slide it through our connector. We're going to be going from the bottom, which you can put it either way, it's really up to you which side you want to make the bottom. We're just sliding our screws through the slotted holes, and then these will line up with the holes in our bracket.
On the other side, we're just going to place some nuts on there and then we'll tighten it down. Once you've got all of your hardware started, we can just tighten it down. And that completes our look at Hopkins 4-flat mounting bracket.

Sturdy polypropylene bracket lets you mount your Hopkins 4-pole flat trailer connector to your vehicle. The bracket folds over your connector to quickly and easily secure it in place and provide a permanent fixed connection point.Doesn't match up with Curt connection. If your 4 pin is flat maybe it would work
Work great on my Tacoma trailer wire. I just suggest pre drill the two holes if you're bumper is thick steel like mine was. They do provide two self tapping screws. But being a steal stud framer for years. I know the self tappers tips can dull. So just better to pre drill inlets you have soft steal. Great product. I'd buy again

Still works great a year later. One thing I forgot to note is this is made to work with Hopkins wire harnesses. Not other makes or brands. But Im very happy with it still a year later.
The hitched are first class. The only reconnendation I would provide id two sets of bolts, 1 set metric and 1 set SAE. On some vehicles it is hard to determine which to use until you start the install. Saves a trip and cost to get the right size.
Didn't fit well, didn't really hold the flat four connector I had well. Screws were galvanized and for this location on a vehicle, I would want stainless due to rust issues and the amount of salt that it receives with the winter.
Item #HM48595 does not let Item #TK26FR be mounted you should only send items in an order if they will fit each other.
Call and you told to return item but I had to pay freight of over $x for an item that cost $x dollars. ordered a different mounting bracket and you wanted to charge me freight even if it was your fault that I had to order a different item.
Went to U-Haul bought bracket.
Very poor costumer service for a mistake that you made not me. You are supposed to know what fits with what not the costumer.
Will never again buy from etrailer looks like they only want to sell even if the items don't fit each other.

While most brackets will fit multiple harnesses, unfortunately this one is only designed to fit other Hopkins products. I apologize that our system was not able to catch that they are not compatible. We are working towards a more sophisticated system that can better assist all of us in our product compatibility.
It's great to have the trailer connector securely mounted. Won't need to worry that it got tangle and pulled off.
I opted to not use the self tappers, as I couldn't find a good spot to drill, but I zip tied it to the tow hitch mount, and it's doing just fine!
Very happy with my order. It took a bit of know-how to install, but the instructions were plenty clear. Works great.
Easy installation and looks great on my Subaru Crosstrek.
simple a easy installation.
Fits Hopkins 4-ways perfectly, with a channel for the rubber end cover that comes with the 4-way cable. As other buyers noted, the screws don't make the most sense. I figure they're a fine universal solution. I bought bolts, nylon washers, and locking nuts to mount the mount onto my car, had to drill two small holes for mounting. No problem.
just what I was looking and was the best price I could fine.
Great for protecting your connector and keeping things looking nice on the install. I highly recommend using one of these to prevent damage to your connector.
It makes installation a lot easier, and looks professional, clean.
The Draw-Time trailer hitch went on without a "hitch". The process of ordering the correct components (hitch, wiring harness and 4 pole plug mount) for my 2016 Ford Flex was nearly effortless with only one call to clear up one concern. etrailer's videos that were vehicle and product specific made for a great experience. Thanks
It is functional, I have modified it to Work with my application.

still works, but ... not to my expectations
For the pricing on this product, it was a great solution to create a permanent mounting solution to secure the trailer wiring connector on my truck. I wasn't able to mount it to my bumper due to the way it was designed, but I was able to get it mounted to the trailer hitch frame itself on the truck. The bracket fits the connector plug like a glove, and combined with the connector cover, it looks very nice, almost like a factory job.
My only complaint (and thus my justification for 4 stars instead of 5) with this is the Phillips head screws. I do not know why manufacturers continue to provide these with products that need securing, especially where driving them into a metal surface is highly probable. Please, please, please - update this package to include hex head screws where they can be driven with a nut driver socket on a drill. Phillips screws are very prone to stripping and a pain in the posterior to work with.
I have mine secured now with the supplied screws, but I will be replacing them with hex head screws ASAP.

They have worked out well. I liked being able to mount the trailer connector to the bottom of the bumper and the connector cover was a nice + to protect the pins. From what I remember, I seem to recall using hex head metal screws in place of the provided Phillips head screws as they are much easier to work with without the risk of rounding out the head of the screws.
Very easy to install, and good plug len gth.
easy to install and it did the job

I have not received bracket yet but, I installed one on my 2013 ford escape and it worked great no problems trailer hitch had a plate to install to. I'll have to install this one onto plastic bumper

With a little tweaking works great not hard to do
Ordered trailer hitch wiring connections, wires, mounts, etc. All arrived just as ordered, and within 5 days. The quality was top-shelf, which is why I continue to reorder from etrailer.....NO JUNK & NO MISTAKES, sounds simple but so many companies get it wrong

Thanks again Jim for the great review and rating! Hopkins appreciates your business.
What can I say except it works!
Thanks. The videos help.
This is a great device, but it didn't fit the 4 pole connector on the Subaru-specific wiring kit I bought from etrailer.
I did buy another for "contingency" sake.

I went to the warehouse and retrieved both the Hopkins mounting bracket, and the Curt 4 pin connector. This mounting bracket is designed to hold the end of the 4 pole connector passed the bump on the end of the plug. Most 4 pole pins have this bump, so you will need to make sure that the mounting bracket is not on top of that bump, otherwise you will experience the mount not closing, as seen in the pictures attached. You can see a red circle in one of the pictures attached; that is where the bump is located on the pin connector and how the mount should be properly placed on the pin connector.
