Hi there neighbors. Today we're going to be taking a look at Hopkins 4-flat mounting bracket. This bracket's going to be a great addition whenever you're installing Hopkins wiring onto your vehicle. It's designed to work specifically with Hopkins 4-pole flat connectors, to hold them nice and tight and give you a sturdy mounting point for you to place your 4-flat on the outside of your vehicle. What's nice about this is typically your 4-pole flat, you just hook onto your safety chain loop and it just hangs there. There are other bracket designs, but this one here is going to clamp nice and tight and hold your Hopkins in place, and it is easy to install because it comes with two self tapping screws so you can either run it into your bumper, you can run it into your hitch, or to any other types of bracket that you install on there. The bracket's constructed of a lightweight polypropylene.
It's going to be durable and resistant to UV rays and road grime. So this is going to be a great addition to any wiring install. It's going to keep your 4-pole flat in an easy to use location, and it's going to make it look nicer as well. This'll also keep your wiring up off the ground to ensure you have a long lasting 4-pole flat connection. This 4-pole flat bracket is quick and easy to install.
Your 4-pole flat will simply clamp in between the two sections. There is a small cutout on each side for your dust cap, if it does have a pre-attached dust cap like this one does. You just clamp it over and squeeze it shut.To get it mounted on the vehicle, you can either use the self tapping screws that come in the kit to mount it to the bottom of your hitch, or your bumper, or you could use a short bracket like the one we're using here. The short bracket's going to bring it further towards the rear to make it more accessible. And it's also going to keep us from having to modify anything so we don't have to drill holes in our hitch.
We don't have to drill any holes in the bumper. We can just mount it directly to this. Now the self tapping screws that come with it won't work, so you are going to have to provide your own hardware to get it mounted to the short bracket. There's also long brackets available if you need a further distance to extend it and bring it closer to the back. I'm going to take our hardware, we're going to slide it through our connector. We're going to be going from the bottom, which you can put it either way, it's really up to you which side you want to make the bottom. We're just sliding our screws through the slotted holes, and then these will line up with the holes in our bracket.
On the other side, we're just going to place some nuts on there and then we'll tighten it down. Once you've got all of your hardware started, we can just tighten it down. And that completes our look at Hopkins 4-flat mounting bracket.

Sturdy polypropylene bracket lets you mount your Hopkins 4-pole flat trailer connector to your vehicle. The bracket folds over your connector to quickly and easily secure it in place and provide a permanent fixed connection point.Fits Hopkins 4-ways perfectly, with a channel for the rubber end cover that comes with the 4-way cable. As other buyers noted, the screws don't make the most sense. I figure they're a fine universal solution. I bought bolts, nylon washers, and locking nuts to mount the mount onto my car, had to drill two small holes for mounting. No problem.
easy to install and it did the job
For the pricing on this product, it was a great solution to create a permanent mounting solution to secure the trailer wiring connector on my truck. I wasn't able to mount it to my bumper due to the way it was designed, but I was able to get it mounted to the trailer hitch frame itself on the truck. The bracket fits the connector plug like a glove, and combined with the connector cover, it looks very nice, almost like a factory job. My only complaint (and thus my justification for 4 stars instead of 5) with this is the Phillips head screws. I do not know why manufacturers continue to provide these with products that need securing, especially where driving them into a metal surface is highly probable. Please, please, please - update this package to include hex head screws where they can be driven with a nut driver socket on a drill. Phillips screws are very prone to stripping and a pain in the posterior to work with. I have mine secured now with the supplied screws, but I will be replacing them with hex head screws ASAP.
Great accessory. Easy install. Vg.customer support.
Wiring harness was perfect and an easy installation. Thank you for prompt service.
The Hopkins Fold-Over Mounting Bracket worked great for my Hopkins 4-way Flat Trailer Connecter. It was very east to install and looks great. Christian at etrailer was very heplful in finding the correct bracket for my wiring harness.
Perfect for application
This will replace the factory bracket on a 2015 Highlander as the Hopkins plug it is designed for is an exact match to the factory plug. The sheet metal screws it comes with won't work, but you want stainless steel anyways. A couple of 10-32 screws will just fit through and aircraft nuts will make sure it does not rattle loose.
Easy install and it looks awesome to boot. Highly recommended to anyone installing a trailer wiring harness looking for a clean install.
Better than a dangling connector.
Ordered trailer hitch wiring connections, wires, mounts, etc. All arrived just as ordered, and within 5 days. The quality was top-shelf, which is why I continue to reorder from etrailer.....NO JUNK & NO MISTAKES, sounds simple but so many companies get it wrong
I have not received bracket yet but, I installed one on my 2013 ford escape and it worked great no problems trailer hitch had a plate to install to. I'll have to install this one onto plastic bumper
The inside is shaped to match the shape/ridges of the plug so that once it is clamped down the plug won't back out when plugging in the trailer plug. The standard metal brackets, when mounted on the bottom of the hitch, hang down too low and get damaged when the rear of the vehicle encounters a slope (driveway, etc). This mount is low profile and barely noticeable.
The Hopkins 12" 4-flat connector extension and the Hopkins mounting bracket are top quality and will allow me to extend my truck's factory trailer wiring connector to the mounting bracket for a professional looking install. The mounting bracket will allow a much easier disconnect of trailer from truck. The quick response from the etrailer Team is remarkable and I look forward to additional business with them.
It fit my wiring plug and dust cap perfectly. Had some trouble deciding where to mount it, but that's not the product's fault.
Well, the product is probably a good product, but would be better if it listed what 4-way plugs it would be compatible with; however, the Curt 4-w plug connector that I ordered did not fit into this mounting bracket, it would not close completely, as the tabs on the Curt 4-way connector stick out too far, even if they would have been lower, like if I filed them off, it wouldn't fit properly unless I used some silicone RTV or something to fill the gaps so it wouldn't bee loose. So basically I will have this mounting bracket laying around in a drawer until I have need of it, if I remember where it is if that day ever comes.
Straight forward piece of equipment. Serves its purpose well. I used the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector - Item # HM11143865. The harness and this mounting bracket work perfectly together. I just installed this today; as I write this review. Longevity is TBD.
This is a great device, but it didn't fit the 4 pole connector on the Subaru-specific wiring kit I bought from etrailer. I did buy another for "contingency" sake.
All items shipped and delivered a day sooner than the expected delivery date. The videos on the web site were a big help during my installation. I would order from etrailer.com again!!!
This is a simple and very good 'container' for a 4-way plug on a vehicle. The wiring loom I used had a cap for the 4-way plug that was attached with a very thick molded length of rubber strap. That strap prevented the 4-way plug from easily fitting into this 'container'. Once I got past that issue, mounting was very easy. This 'container' will hold the 4-way plug in an easy to reach location next to the receiver hitch.
Wasn't able to use.not strong enough Wanted to come apart. Not using it. Sorry for a negative review.
Worked as it should
Didn't know they made such a thing. I was ready to install a regular kit that would have involved splicing, soldering, heat shrink, etc etc. I'm glad I decided to check out you tube for tips. There I found this item. SOLD!! Installed great and works great! Huge time saver!
Note... not all wiring harness fit into this snugly. Ours was a bit loose so I added thickness with tape temporarily. Attaching was easy enough with the self drilling screws. Good product and does its job.
After a year, hasn't let go of the dang plug. Must need when installing you're own four pin setup.
