Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the sink strainer with threaded basket and tail flange.This is going to have that tail flange coming out to fit into your plumbing, and then we'll also have our drain with the strainer basket. This is going to be a replacement for our sink strainer in our kitchen area since usually that's where you're going to want to have that strainer basket. It's going to help to keep out any food particles from getting down into our plumbing and causing any issues. Whenever we want to fill the sink you can just thread that little strainer down and it's going to plug everything up so you can fill it with water and then just loosen that up to let the water flow through again.
Whenever that it gets full of debris you can take that out, toss the stuff in the trash, and then thread this guy back down in there.This is going to fit in a 2" diameter drain hole. We'll have our tail flange, the rubber washer, our slip nut, and also our thicker rubber washer, and the lock nut. I'm going to take these all off and we can take a look at some measurements real quick. This is made out of a die cast steel construction, say that three times fast, so it should last a long time.The outer diameter of our sink up top here is about 2-5/8" in diameter. The overall outside diameter of the bottom portion is about 1-7/8" across, so again it'll work with that 2" diameter drain hole.
The length of our threads is just about 1-3/8" inches. With the little nod on the end, it's a little bit longer, about 1-1/2". With our slip nut and the tail flange in place, it's going to be longer still, and I'll give that to you. Just a second. That's about 2-5/8", and the outer diameter of our tail flange is roughly 5/8" or 3/4".
It's barbed on the end, so I would think that it would work with a pipe fitting that's about 3/4" or 5/8", somewhere in between there.Well, that's about all there is to it for our sink here. We do have a lot of options here at etrailer.com if you need to pick up some additional parts for your RV.
