Flexible Rubber Brake Hoses

Kodiak brake hoses are made of rubber, making them a practical choice for a variety of applications. Because you can easily bend them, rubber hoses are simpler to work with than rigid stainless steel brake lines. This flexibility makes rubber hoses great for use with foldaway trailer tongues because they are less likely to kink or break when bent. In addition, rubber hoses allow for a wide range of motion so articulating parts can effectively function. These qualities make rubber hoses better suited than steel lines for trailers with torsion axle suspension systems and trailers that have disc brakes.

Stainless steel brake lines have braided exteriors, which can not only wear against exterior surfaces, but also against the interior lining of the hose if dirt gets underneath the steel braid. And if the braid on a stainless steel line tears, it can cut into the hose lining. The exterior surface of these hoses is solid rubber, so there are no crevices for debris to enter.

Durable Fittings with Deep Threads

Kodiak Hose Flare

Kodiak brake hoses have corrosion-resistant brass fittings with stainless steel flares. These fittings have a gap built into them that allows room for a line wrench - also called a flare nut wrench - to slide over the line and down to the nut. This type of wrench grips the nut better than a standard open-ended wrench so there is less chance of stripping the threads as you tighten down the nut.

The stainless steel that is used to create the flares on these hoses is stronger than brass. As a result, these fittings are more durable than ones made entirely of brass. The stainless flares are primarily designed to keep the fittings from splitting when you tighten them down, but they offer absolute rust protection as well.

Kodiak's fittings have deeper threads than many other fittings on the market to provide a higher thread engagement. Deeper threads offer an advantage when used with fittings that have the same thread depth. These Kodiak fittings will work with most fittings on the market, but when they're used with other Kodiak fittings, the result is a stronger connection with fewer leaks.

I am not actually finished with the complete installation. I managed to get all 4 of the old drums off the camper and the 4 new rotors installed last fall. The day I went out to try and get the brake lines tied into the rotors, it decided to snow, and I decided to call it quits on it for the year. I will finish the install with the addition the brake controller and hooking up all of the lines once our spring season is here.

Once I am done, I will have photos that I will gladly share with everyone.

I am sorry that you were missing some of the lines. I have sent your information over to our customer service department for them to look into some sort of compensation.

Brake conversion was easy with provided parts. Rubber brake lines in kit could be engineered to mount more sanitary. Instead of strait rigid tubing to flared fitting a 60 degree bend would make it tuck in better. Overall good kit. Everything for single drum to tandem disc fit good.

I have never had better service with any company! Kearra D. Took my first order. She answered several technical questions clearly and fully.
I forgot an item, so called back and spoke to Noah G. The first order was already on the truck, so he took a second order to complete the transaction. Kearra and Noah were both excellent. They quickly made me feel confident about ordering the proper set of electric over hydraulic disc brake upgrade (from drum brakes) components. They both kept completely in touch by email including links for future installation/technical support.
I received both orders together in two days. Merchandise was very well packaged. The outside of the shipping boxes had ordinary, cosmetic dings. I think this is common in shipping items this heavy. The contents appear to be in perfect condition.
I definitely recommend Kearra, Noah and etrailer!
Will send photos from installation in an update.

A must have for heavy trailer. I got rid of the two longer rubber hoses, and installed steel brake line from side to side.
The trailer is braking perfectly.
Expensive, but totally worth it.

No issue.... the brake are great. I had to protect the rubber hose that cross from side to side because they were to exposed. I use a plastic hose slotted on its length.

by:

The product was great and easy to install. Very happy with the experience.

by:

So on the last trailer I converted to hydraulic disc, I used the Titan kit with actuator. This trailer is a cargo trailer for work 14'X8' and not that heavy. I went with Kodiak discs and the Hydrastar actuator. I mounted it inside the trailer to protect it and keep it out of sight. It's so quiet but works flawlessly! Even with the door open, it's tough to hear, so for bleeding, I set up a remote switch to activate the system. It doesn't leak, has plenty of power, and is very smooth coupled with my factory Ford brake controller.. It's been a year, so long time reliability is a wait and see, but so far, I'm very happy.

by:

Installed complete kit with rotors and actuator ,system works great only had issue with not receiving full order but customer service took care of issue and got the rest of the order out to me.

by:

What can I say about Kodiac rubber brake lines. The best part of these lines are they can be routed just about any where. Easy to bend around never kink. Great product.

by:

third different hydraulic brake line kit i've ordered. all have been simple to install and look great as well.

by:

Complete kit made plumbing up surge brakes easy and fast.

by:

Product as described, fast shipping and excellent service. Thanks e trailer!

Issue resolved immediately ! Will be a return customer !

Good kit brake , kit Easy to install, I like. ??

by:

Bought this to us on a 5x10 trailer, so it is longer than needed. No complaints awith it other than that, far easier than hard lining it.

  • Electric Over Hydraulic Disc Brake Actuator for Camping Trailer and Chevy Factory Brake Controller
The Tuson ActuLink Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi # 335ACT-1600 is not compatible with the Factory GM brake controller in your 2014 Chevy Silverado. My recommendation for you is to instead use an aftermarket brake controller like the Curt Echo # C51180 which will take priority over your factory controller and will work well. Another option is to use the HydraStar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi # HS381-8067 which...

  • Correct Length of Kodiak Tandem Axle Brake Line Kit
The Kodiak # 20TA-BLKIT 20 foot brake line kit will work if the distance from the rear of the coupler to the front trailer axle is roughly 18 to 19 feet, as you'll need some slack for the swing-away coupler to move freely. having a little extra length won't hurt, but you don't want to come up short because you can't easily make a splice like you can with steel brake lines. So in a nutshell, the advertised length of the kit you need will be the length of the longest line in the kit, and...
