These brakes are excellent! And so is the service/technical support provided by George J of etrailer and others. This was the first time I ever replaced trailer brakes and I also bled the brake system for the first time. Everything went very smooth. I live in Florida and all of use of the trailer is in salt water. The brakes have held up very well.

by:

Good quality brake pads, Needed these in stainless steel for ocean water.

by:

I have a dozen trailers and do most of my own maintenance. etrailer is my go to for the right parts at the right price with excellent shipping and superb customer focused advice. Alex handled my last parts order and he is a credit to the organization!

by:

Best customer service ever!!!!!
Was
trying to get boat ready for a trip to the coast and found that the original brake pad backing had deteriorated due to saltwater. I also found I had two wheel seals leaking. Got on etrailer.com and found the parts I needed with ease. I ordered everything I needed and had them overnighted at 4:36pm on a Tuesday. Customer service called 30 minutes later to apologize and said that my order was placed after the orders for the day had been sent out. They promised they would do everything they could but it would probably be the next day before they could send them out and I might not get them until Thursday. I completely understood and was not upset. Well, the next morning (Wednesday) by 10am my parts were sitting on my porch!!!! Not sure how they made it happen but thank you to whoever did.
The parts were top notch and the stainless steel backing brake pads and stainless lug nuts were just why I needed!
Top notch and will never buy trailer parts from anywhere else. Thank you and now I’m going fishing a day early!
Boats in the water thanks to etrailer!

by:

Stainless replacement brake pads. Wish they would last longer.

by:

These are going on a Sport Trail boat trailer. Great pricing and extremely fast delivery. Will definitely be a returning customer! Thanks

by:

you had all the parts to completely rebuild my trailer brakes to new condition. As it is a salt water trailer, they are holding up very well. Thanks for being here and your good service

by:

Adding disc breaks to my was the best upgrade I have ever made. The breaking power is fantastic, they are always in adjustment and I can stop my 36 ft 5th wheeler faster and safer with less strain on my truck.

by:

Pads were exact fit replacements. We will see if they are high quality stainless steel backing plates (don't rust). Time will tell.

Recommended Item. Perfect for Salt Water Environments

by:

I bought these on a contingency and have not used yet.

Fit was perfect and the ones I took out still had some good meat left after 3 years. When it comes to trailers I do preventative maintenance.

The Kodiak brakes from etrailer hold up better than 99 of the brakes on the market. Our guys are on the go everyday from sun up to sun down and we never have an issue with these brake pads. I highly recommend these to anyone!

by:

Holding up very well. Price is just a little high but could not find it any less anywhere else

by:

So far so good, I just installed these even though I ordered them a year ago. Can't wait to see how the Stainless Steel holds up on my boat trailer, the ones I took off were in terrible shape even though there was a lot of pad left. Great stopping power, I turned down my brake controller after I installed these.

by:

If you need replacement Kodiak brake pads for your trailer, and you launch in salt water, the pads with the stainless backing plates are the only way to go. I had the pads break free from plain steel backing plates, and damage my rotors. Not worth it.

Brakes pads shipped promptly. The fact they were priced competitively and shipping was very reasonable is a bonus. etrailer rocks.

by:

The stainless steel rotors and stainless steel brake pads were delivered on time and in good condition. Installation went smoothly and the brakes are working well. The trailer will be dunked in saltwater regularly so stainless steel should not rust like the previous pads. The old pads still had plenty of wear left but they rusted and the pads separated from the backing plate. The outside pads fell completely out of the caliper. If given the opportunity will provide an update after some use.

by:

I'm glad I got the Stainless Steel versions for my 8K lb travel trailer...after 5 years and 10K+ miles, there was not a speck of rust on these pads or the Stainless brake cylinder / pad carriers. Actually, the pads were less than 50% used but I decided to replace them as I can't afford a failure or downtime on the road. A little cleaning of the guides and some silicone grease and the guides / carriers were like brand new.

by:

If you put your trailer in saltwater, it is totally worth the extra cost for the stainless rotors, pads and calipers to have brakes that work reliably for a long time and not just a distant battle with rust

by:

I ordered the ceramic brake pads with ss backing plate. I have the Kodiak ss calipers and ss rotors on my boat trailer. There was no rust on the old pads or any of the Kodiak equipment even though I fish saltwater frequently. I expect the new pads to perform as well. They arrived on time and were delivered to my mailbox.

by:

The brake pads were much cheaper than anywhere else I looked, even after paying for three day shipping!

Its been a year now, and the pads are still going strong!

by:

Thanks for getting my brakes on time and fast response. I did excellent in canceling the previous order with 2 day shipping the day before Christmas. Change it with the help of one of youre representatives and created a new order with next day shipping . Sunday i saw movement of the pakage and monday was on its way . I got the package tuesday In Puerto Rico at 2:00 pm excellent job to you and UPS for moving the package quickly. The pads have no damage and box also in great shape . Thanks again and thank you great Team etrailer have. Happy holidays to all and God Bless

by:

These brake pads replaced an identical set from the OEM on a WESCO dual axle trailer. Unfortunately, the original set disintegrated after two years of salt water use, but these pads seem like great quality and were very easy to replace. I am not certain if the original brake pads were SS backed, so I'll give these some time.

by:

great video instruction-simple to replace pads, good price. previous pads wore unevenly-no air in the lines, unclear reason. new pads -ceramic and stainless-eager to see how long they last.

You will want to check your calipers for the number stamped on the outside between the two bleeder valves. If you need pads with stainless steel backing plates (if your trailer gets launched in salt water you will want these) you would want part # K225CPSS.

The 225 calipers are more prominent than the 204 calipers but they are not directly interchangeable. • Is it Okay if Inner Disc Brake Pad Is Not Held Tight to Piston
The reason the inner pad feels like it's not held tight is because the caliper is floating which means when there's not pressure one of the pads typically drifts further apart. But when the braking pressure is applied the force on both sides of the pad equalizes as the caliper floats. It's kind of a weird thing to try and describe but if you apply the brakes with the wheel off and watch the pads you'll see how it all works together.

The Kodiak Ceramic Brake Pads with Stainless Steel Backing Plate - 3,500 lbs to 6,000 lbs # K225CPSS should fit your 2002 EZ Loader boat trailer.
