Once again etrailer came through for me! While performing brake and suspension maintenance on my 2019 Grand Design 337RLS I found one of my brake calipers was leaking fluid and the inside pad was virtually gone. Leaving for an extended trip in 4 days. etrailer got me a new caliper express shipped and after installing I have some breathing room before departure! Thank you again etrailer!!!

These calipers were a perfect replacement for my original discontinued Atwood CL calipers. The pads and piston seal look like they’re excellent quality. Thanks to e-trailer for their tech support and easy to order process. Communication from them while product was being shipped to Canada was appreciated as well. Thanks again!

The staff at etrailer is very knowledgeable and helped me get the right trailer parts I needed and within the time frame I needed it. Highly recommend etrailer and absolutely will use again

Perfect fit on my 2004 MasterCraft tandem axle trailer. Drop in replacement for the "Reliable" calipers that were on there.
Incredibly fast shipping, came loaded with pads and all the hardware needed to bolt them right up and bleed them. Couldnt be happier!

One year later - my only regret is not doing the Kodiak install sooner!

The customer service level is outstanding I hope everything is appreciated by etrailer as much as I am he's very diligent and help me find the right parts I comend him for his dedication

These are better than original. Installation for a triple axle trailer only took an hour not including running brake lines.

I paid a $105 for overnight it was not done I want some of my shipping back,, On top of it you didn't even send me a tracking number on the order piss poor Information.....

So, it looks like our customer service department has been made aware and is issuing a refund for the shipping. Im sorry to hear that it didnt arrive on time.

Perfect fit for my trailer and work great. Thanks eTrailer!

Great experience. Fast delivery! Thank you!

Still working great!

This is actually the second time I purchased one of these calipers. The first time was about a month back when one froze on me due to water in the brake system. Of course this happened the day before I was going on vacation.
While very happy with the quality of the caliper it was the customer service that was most impressive. I called in a panic in the early afternoon to see if I could get the part overnight. The sales consultant went way beyond what he could have done and hand delivered my order to shipping department so it would get out yet that day.
My point here is that you can buy good parts anywhere on the web these days but the reason I came back and will keep coming back was the service I got (get) from eTrailer's employees. That extra effort allowed me to leave on time for vacation with my family.
Oh and yeah Kodiak makes good stuff. Everything installed well and is working great. Thank you!

Bill T.

Everything has been working great. Still appreciate the excellent service I received and look forward to doing business with etrailer again.

Only place I could find the caliper. Was initially out of stock, but had prompt shipping once it came in. Staff was very helpful in keeping me informed about the product availability.

Fantastic product selection excellent customer service

Arrived on time, and I was surprised it came with the lads and mount bolts. I’ll be installing it tomorrow.

They look and work great

Perfect replacement. And thanks for the quick shipping.

Stacy A was very helpful. Extremely knowledgeable
Great service
Thank you

Boat trailer caliper was seized and causing the brakes to overheat. Headed over to since they seem to have the best part selection and easiest website to navigate.

I purchased a caliper that came with pads pre-installed ( and a rotor (

Installation went smoothly. I'll be back for the other side when it's time.

Easy product search process. Easy order process. Fast delivery.

Great help when you are looking for parts on a discontinued trailer!

Fast shipping.

AS described got here in 3 days. Went on easily. all parts in the box. Slides moved freely tested and worked great.

The calipers have been great and still working strong, very Pleased.

The ordering process was quick and easy. The Part was delivered a day early. Packaging was done well. The part was exactly what I ordered and fit perfectly. i would highly recommend this company.

I ordered new Kodiak 225 caliper to replace the frozen one on my boat trailer, which I use in Puget sound area. The part came as advertised, quick delivery no hassel no problems. I upgraded to a more salt resistant caliper. Use stainless if you can afford it

Etrailer service outstanding

The brakes on my boat trailer looked like they never worked since new. The pistons were bonded in place with rust. These are the exact same brakes so they went on with no problems. Learned I needed to inspect trailer brakes a lot more often. One star off because one of the bleed screws would leak no matter how tight I set it. I had an old screw so I just used it.

Service was great

fast shippiong

I ordered Dakota 225 brake caliper. It worked as it should. The problem is that I had bought two calipers and two rotors 3 years ago from E trailer and installed them. They worked but on seized up (would not release from the rotor) and overheated. I had to place the overide pin in my surge actuator and drive tow the boat and trailer .
I would think the caliper would last more than three years with less than 25 trips to the lake.

  • Will Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper Work With Trailer Surge Brake System
The Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper # KDBC225DAC is designed to be used with a surge brake system so yes, it will work with your trailer setup. Just make sure that your axle is rated for 3,500 - 6,00 lbs, that your rotor diameter is 10" or 12", and that the caliper mounting flange bolt holes measure 5-3/4" on center where the caliper will be installed. Attached is a review video for you to check out.

  • Replacement for Reliable Calipers on 2003 Prestige Trailer
In the past we have had customers successfully replace Reliable calipers like the CL-1000 with the Kodiak # KDBC225DAC. This is designed for 3,500 lb - 6,000 lb axles and work with 10" and 12" diameter rotors. This hasn't been officially tested by the manufacturer, but based on the specs they seem to be an exact match.

  • Bleeding Trailer Brakes After Installing Kodiak 225 Disc Brake Calipers
When you bleed the brakes on your trailer after installing the Kodiak Calipers # KDBC225DAC, you will want to start with the brake that is furthest away from the actuator. Of the two bleeder valves, you will want to use the bleeder valve that is on the top. If you are manually bleeding the brakes, it is easiest to use a clear jar to collect the brake fluid in so it is easier to see when there are no more bubbles in the fluid. Be sure to open the top bleeder valve when you are bleeding...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Disc Brakes that Won't Activate Although Actuator Moves Fluid
First step I would try is bleeding the brakes. It sounds like you have an air bubble that needs to just be worked out of the lines and then the brakes should start working again. I attached a help article on bleeding trailer brakes too. First top off the master cylinder with appropriate fluid. Next you will want to pump the fluid from the master cylinder. You can do this by unbolting the plate that holds the lever in place and then use that lever to actuate the master cylinder and force...

  • How to Find Correct Replacement Braking Assemblies for a 1989 EZ Loader Trailer
The part number supplied looks like it's coming back to the Raybestos FRC11046 brake calipers which as you are aware are not available anymore. That being said, we don't have any replacement parts for these braking assembles as we've never carried their parts. It's typically much more cost effective to just replace the entire assembly, which is what I recommend doing. In order to find the correct braking assemblies, I am going to need a bit more information about what you're working with....

  • Replacement Brake Caliper Recommendation for a Boat Trailer
The correct replacement calipers for your 2003 Mastercraft boat trailer will depend on the current brakes you have installed on your trailer to a certain extent. • What Info Is Needed to Pick Out Replacement Brake Caliper for Trailer Axle
Basically I would need to know the axle capacity and the brand of brake components to know what you would need. For example, the Kodiak part # KDBC225DAC is a Kodiak caliper for a 3,500 lb axle. Nearly all calipers will have their brand and part number on back of the caliper as well.

  • Replacement Reliable CL-1000 Calipers for Hydroglide Trailer
Based on my research, the Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper # KDBC225DAC should work perfectly as a replacement for the existing Reliable CL-1000 Calipers on your trailer. This hasn't been officially tested by the manufacturer but based on the specs they appear to be an exact match. They are designed for 3,500 to 6,000 pound rated axles and work on 10 and 12" diameter rotors. I have also attached an image of a customer-submitted review that describes using these to replace original Reliable parts...

  • Replacement Disc Brake Caliper for Reliable CL-1000
The specs listed for the # KDBC225DAC Kodiak caliper I found online match up with those of the Reliable CL-1000. Either would be compatible with a 3500 to 6000 lb axle but because it hasn't been officially tested, If I were in your shoes I'd replace both calipers to ensure you're getting the exact same braking on each side for the sake of safety. We don't have a rebuild kit known to be compatible with the Reliable CL-1000 caliper.

  • Which Brake Assembly to Start with When Bleeding Trailer Hydraulic Brakes
Sounds like your question is related to the trailer brake bleeding process where you are supposed to pick the assembly that is the furthest from the actuator to start with. Basically if you have more than one trailer axle you pick the rear-most axle and then start with the assemblies there. Once you've bled either assembly on that axle you then move to the one in front of it. Of the two bleeder valves, you will want to use the bleeder valve that is on the top. That's because air bubbles...

  • How to Determine Right Hand and Left Hand Brake For Disc Brake Caliper Installation
Yes, you would look at the trailer from the rear to determine right hand or left hand. The terms right hand and left hand come from right turn and left turn. The right hand brake is on the right side as if you were making a right turn. The Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper, # KDBC225DAC, can be used on either side. Kodiak designed the caliper so that there are multiple bleeder valves allowing you to switch them depending on which side you need the caliper on. .
