Today we're going to take a look at the replacement oil seal for the Kodiak XL Pro Lube Kit. Now this will replace the seal in the Kodiak XL Pro Lube Kit for 3500 pound axles. We do sell that kit separately on our website. It's part number XLPROLUBE1980KIT. This does include the one replacement oil seal. Now this oil seal is a ribbed anti-rotation design on both the inside diameter and the outside diameter. It is designed to fit a 1.72 inch spindle outside diameter and 2.56 hub inside diameter.
It is not for use on the the 1.68 inch spindles. But that should do it for the review on the replacement oil seal for the Kodiak XL Pro Lube Kit.

Replaces 1 seal for Kodiak XL ProLube kit for 3,500-lb axles (XLPROLUBE1980KIT).I purchased these seals and they indicate that they are for a 3,500# axle and 1.98 shaft size, which is exactly the axle size I have. I installed them only to find out they are not that size. I tried to return them only to find out, it would cost me more to return them than keep the wrong size. I sources them out locally and fixed the problem, no thanks to etrailer.com
Excellent product and it arrived a day early!
This seal was used with a kit to convert my trailer wheel bearings from grease to oil lubrication. Oil lubrication worked well, unfortunately these seals do not seal well and end up leaking lots of oil. I went through several of these seals before I pulled the kits out and went back to standard grease lubrication.
This is the kit: [link to/XLPROLUBE1980KIT] I do not recommend this kit.
Right parts at the right price
Just what I needed. Other seals were not working out on these hubs, water was sipping in and oil dripping out. Thanks. Im using the seals on a boat trailer with oil bath hubs.
I use TieDown Oil bath hubs but these Kodiak oil seals are far superior to the TieDown seals.
It's kind of dodgy. Make Sure your hub takes a 2.56" rear grease seal. Also, If its had plain grease seals that left a groove, it will leak overnight. I just finished mine, have not road tested it yet but they have not leaked a drop in a week.
Great concept that never stops leaking… bought 4 seals … reinstalled 4 seals….. leak leak leak….
good customer service so so seal
