Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a quick look at the replacement motor for your quickie step. This is going to be for the 42 series steps. That's going to be the one that's kind of an enclosed housing, and it's going to slide directly out from your RV rather than kind of deploying out and down. So this is going to be that replacement motor if one happened to not be working for you, it started to fail out. This is going to be an older style step.
It's manufactured since 1999, so things can go bad. And this is going to be that piece that we need to make sure that everything's working again.So here's a little closer look at it. We're going to plug in our wiring up here at the top with that little port that's in there, and then the linkage arm is going to connect to this little gear here. So this is the part that's going to operate the automatic shutdown. So if you happen to deploy those steps out maybe a little too close to a pylon or some kind of obstacle, and it happens to strike that, it will automatically retract the step.
So if that's gotten broken or maybe got fried out, that would maybe be a reason why you'd want to replace this. Has the holes here to mount in place. Does not come with any additional hardware.As far as specs with this, it's going to be about six and three quarter inches long, and then four and three eighths inches wide. And about one inch, or excuse me, about two inches tall. The current draw for a clockwise operation is going to be 17.2 amps.
Counter-clockwise is 20.1 amps. The RPM rating for this is 40.4 in a clockwise configuration, and then 31.8 for counter-clockwise. It does weigh just about a pound and a half. 1.63 pounds. Has a one-year warranty and is made in the USA.That's about all there is to it for a replacement motor for the quickie step.

This motor does not work with a 42 series step. To small and wiring plug in is not compatible with harness on motor home

Hi Jenny yes our motor home is a 1996 Luxor by Winnebago diesel pusher. The step is a Keizer 42 series two step slide out. Hope that will help

If the step has not been replaced since before 2004, which it sounds like it has not been, then there is a motor upgrade kit available for the series 42 Kwikee step part # LC380266. It would include the motor, linkage, control unit, switch kit, and hardware to install.

The motor looks like an exact replacement of the original. I have not yet installed it but expect no issues. The one disappointing feature is that it was advertise as made in America which confirmed the sale for me, but upon receiving the motor it is stamped made in China.

It would be disappointing to receive this motor and then it does not work for you. Can you tell me how old your steps are? Are they made before 2004? If they are then for the series 42 steps you would need motor part # LC380266 instead. If they are newer than 2004, then can you tell me the exact model number of your step?
