Video Transcript for Review of Lippert Camper Jacks - Landing Gear Switch and Harness - LC145236

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Lippert Ignition Proof Fifth Wheel RV Landing Gear Switch with the wiring harness. Now the Lippert component's power landing gear is what is standard on most fifth-wheel RVs produced today. And this here is the replacement standard landing gear switch with the wiring harness. That'll get you back to camping, enjoying the great features of your powered landing gear. This switch will let you extend or retract your landing gear on your RV.

It is very easy to install with minimal assembly required. It includes the switch right here you can see, and if you look at it, it's labeled retract, and you do have to hold it down or extend in the same way you have to hold it down. That includes the gear switch, the wiring harness, has the 30-amp fuse on it, and then the face plate when you go to install it. This part is made in the USA. But that should do it for the review on the Lippert Ignition Proof Fifth Wheel RV Landing Gear Switch with the wiring harness.

I did have an issue with the first switch where it quit working but I contacted support and it was replaced within days. Excellent customer service!!!

by:

This was our second order with etrailer and we are very pleased with the service and products. We definitely will continue to order from them for all our trailer needs1

by:

I purchased these after my original set broke, it’s more that what I needed but it does very well. Speed is faster, I’ve had to replace the switch but other that that it works great, I don’t like the original switch now that came with it, it sticks out about too far, so when it broke I replaced it with the factory style switch.

by:

Replaced my landing gear switch a year ago and the new one works great. It was easy to install and delivery was super fast. Great quality and a good price, what more can you ask for.

Still Working as good as the day it was installed. No complaints

by:

Perfect match for my failed landing gear switch.

by:

Exact replacement part. Delivery was quick. Will be installing next week. I also purchased a gear kit fir my front load leg. That was also the exact replacement. Thank-you e-trailer.
I will buy from you again

by:

The only issue I had was wiring the motor leads. I had to put the red lead to the black lead of the motor in order to make the motor run to match the button directions (ie extend for down, retract for up.

by:

Good price, fast delivery, used the Q and A page for proper connection. Product works as described

by:

Super fast delivery, awesome quality products and very nice and knowledgeable service when I phoned with questions while on the website

by:

Great harness and made wiring very straight forward

by:

  • How to Wire Replacement Landing Gear Switch
Do you know who the manufacturer of the landing gear is? That would be the only way to know for sure if a switch will work so the best option is going to be the Replacement Switch # LG-145236 which is designed for Stromberg Carlson landing gear but will work with most electric landing gear sets, such as Lippert, Venture and Atwood. Wiring this is pretty straightforward and I have included a diagram showing you how it is done (the switch also comes with written instructions). You only need...

  • How to Run Wiring for Replacement Landing Gear Switch
If you are using either the Lippert Components Landing Gear Switch # LC145236 or the Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear Switch # LG-145236 you will connect the red wire without the fuse along with the longer black wire to the red and black wires on your motor. The short black wire will be run to the battery's negative post and grounded and the pink or red wire with the fuse will be connected to the battery's positive post.

  • Replacement Switch For Landing Gear On 2021 Forest River XLR Boost?
Yes! I confirmed with Lippert that the Lippert Ignition Proof 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear w/Harness # LC145236 will work as a replacement switch on your 2021 XLR12 Boost Toy Hauler.

  • How To Find the Correct Replacement Switch for a Landing Gear Set
I have some great news, landing gear switches are fairly universal so we will have an option for you and for this I recommend the Replacement Switch for Electric Landing Gear part # LG-145236. If you have a dual motor setup and want to control each with a different switch then you can combine two otherwise you would just need one. In regards to installation, you might not just be able to match color for color but it will still be a sound replacement option. The wiring instructions will...

  • Troubleshooting Replacement Lippert Jack Operating in Opposite Direction
Although you wired up the new Lippert jack the same was as the failed unit, the fact that the jack is operating in the opposite direction from what you are pushing on the switch does indicate that the wiring leads are somehow reversed. Swapping the positions of the wires to the motor on your system should resolve this issue so that the stabilizer jack starts working correctly again. Please just let me know if you have any further issues and I wll be happy to do some more troubleshooting.

  • How To Test A Landing Gear Switch Harness
I contacted Lippert and their guidance for testing the Lippert Components Ignition Proof 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Switch w/Harness # LC145236 is to use a voltmeter to verify power is getting to the motor. Test for power both before and after the switch. If you have power before the switch but not after, then the switch is bad. You will want to make sure the switch is on when testing. If you have power after the switch then the switch is good but if you don't have power before the...

  • Replacement Switch Availability for Powered Landing Gear for 2002 Thor Transport
I'd need a little more info to be able to recommend for sure what the correct replacement switch is that you'd need, but we do carry replacement switches for powered landing gear sets. The Lippert landing gear replacement switch part # LC145236 is the most likely switch you need since it fits the most popular landing gear set out there. This also fits other popular brands like Stromberg Carlson and Venture.

  • Troubleshooting Lipperty Hydraulic Leveling System Where Jack Won't Retract- Only Extends
It's definitely possible that this has occurred during your re-build but it's more likely that whoever re-installed the unit got the plumbing for the hydraulic system mixed up. You'll want to make sure that the black hose is connected to the extend feed and the orange hose is connected to the retract feed-this is the opposite of what would be on a 5th wheel trailer with a similar hydraulic system, so that might be where the error lies. If both hoses are black then you would need to follow...

We do have a nice selection of replacement switches that may work on your Cedar Creek Silverback landing gear system. The Lippert Ignition Proof Landing Gear Switch # LC145236 that you were looking at is compatible with most systems produced today (as Lippert produces most of them), but if you can tell me what manufacturer/model landing gear set you currently have, I will be happy to confirm if it will work for you or make a different recommendation. • Landing Gear Legs Keep Blowing Fuse Even After New Motor
If you still continue to blow a fuse on your lading gear legs even with a new motor then that would lead me to believe you have an issue with the wiring or switch. Therefore, I recommend you trace the wires from the motor to the switch and then from the switch to the battery. If I had to guess I would say you have a short in one of these wires but I don't think the relay would be your issue. • Lippert Motorized Hydraulic Leveling System Controls Work The Wrong Jacks On a 2007 Daymon Daybreak
It sounds like the wiring was changed going into the solenoids at the hydraulic pump on your 2007 Damon Daybreak. I would check these connectors as it sounds like they were mixed up if the unit was swapped out. This would explain why your jack positions are all off and why the auto level fails when you try to use it. The system sends power to one jack and when a different jack lifts the camper the internal sensors read an error.

  • Replacement Landing Gear Switch Recommendation Rockwood Travel Trailer with Lippert Landing Gear

  • How Many Terminals Are On the JR Products RV Landing Gear Switch
The JR Products RV Landing Gear Switch part # 37213635 has four terminals; power, ground, motor in, and motor out. This will be the case for all of our landing gear switches. That said, most likely you have dual landing gear motors and just need to combine the motor in and motor out for each side before attaching to the switch. If you like, you could also just use two switches, one for each jack leg. The Lippert Components 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Switch part # LC145236 comes with the...

  • Replacement Switch for Lippert Components Power Landing Gear
I do not know what landing gear you have on your 2013 Heartland Cyclone 5th wheel just from your RV information. But, more than likely you have a Lippert Components power landing gear set-up. • Landing Gear Switch Installation on 5th Wheel Trailer
For six poles on landing gear switch, I assume you are referring to a three switch assembly for passenger leg switch, dual switch, and driver leg switch. Unfortunately we don't have a schematic on your exact system, but typically on a 6 pole switch system, you have a power to the battery and a ground to the chassis. Then you have polarity for each motor. Positive polarity is normally red, and negative polarity is usually black or yellow depending on the manufacturer of the motor. We...

One of your motors is connected backwards and you'll need to simply swap the wires at the switch assembly # LC145236.
