Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this replacement control plate for the MaxxFan Roof Vents. Now, this will replace the control plate on your MaxxFan Roof Vent. It will work on the part number MA00A04301K or the MA00A04401K. Both of those vents we do sell separately on our website.
This part will also work with the Deluxe vents and the Plus model vents. This part is a white plastic construction. It does use the existing hardware for installation. A few dimensions on this I want to give you. Overall width is about 13 3/16 of an inch.
The width this way is the same, 13 3/16 of an inch. The height of it is only about 11/16 inches tall, and the inner diameter of that hole is going to be right at 12 1/8 inches. Now, if you look at this plate you can see over here has the cutout. That's where the key pad will install. In this corner.
Over here, this is where the vent lid knob for the open and close the vent will install. Then there's a little hole right up here. This is where the thermostat temperature sensor would go. But that should do it for the review on the replacement control plate for the MaxxFan Roof Vent.

Replaces the control plate for your MaxxFan roof vent. Not trailers fault. This is the third one i have had to change in 6 years. Pitiful. They warp then the plastic cracks. Also I used to be able to purchase at local RV store but now you are the only one I could find etrailer did fine and sent the part out in good shape ( wish I could say the same for Maxxair ).
Works great
This plate fit our Maxxfan perfectly.
I installed this as a bathroom fan through the sidewall of my T@B teardrop camper. Works great.
Great instructions. Very nice product. Installed nicely and looks beautiful. You will need to buy the butyl tape to properly install and of course the self leveling roof sealant.
Great fan with multiple speeds, including reverse. Easy to install, comes with everything you need (except butyl tape). Has made a really big difference in the temp. comfort in my RV. The only negative is the supplied electrical connectors-I put them on, tested the fan & then installed the trim ring- then no fan! Turn out the connectors had fallen off- replaced with standard wire nuts and reinstalled the trim ring....VOILA....coolness!
I have two of these installed in our stepvan - they were one of the first things we installed during the build process, and thank goodness we did because they kept us cooler during the summer build. Easy to use, the multiple-fan settings are nice, and the exhaust feature can pull a lot of air. We don't have AC, so these fans make a huge difference in pulling out hot air and replacing with outside air. Great service from etrailer - I ordered the wrong fan the first time and they were great to work with in getting another shipped out to me.
Nothing but issues.
It has worked fully for maybe 3 months in the last two years.
At multiple times an owner of these will experience the beeping and blinking green light issue.
You’ll be told “oh, moisture in the mother board” so, you replace the PC board and add electrical waterproofing (which voids your warranty).
That holds for a while then the beeping and blinking starts again “oh, its gotta be the current draw, the fans require a solid 12v”. Add a DC/DC stabilizer to each fan should settle the issue.
Nope, only another two month fix.
You can reset these fans easily by just disconnecting the power to them and that seems to get some time but the issue of your fan not going above low and the beeping and green light will inevitably return.
there seems to be a lot of people who experience this exact issue leading me to believe it’s a quality control issue at and is not being addressed.
I would not recommend these fans to anyone.
Etrailer helped direct me to the MaxxFan 7500 I believe letting me know that I can probably use the wires to a near by light to power it and they went extra and sent me to videos and also a way to still use the light to with a special switch. I realized that the bathroom fan wasn't working too and an older dome fan so ordered this right away as it's replacement. It arrived in manufactures box and all parts appear to be with it. I also have the sealant materials so it's ready to be installed as soon as our weather up here in NW MT cooperates. Great extra mile answering my questions about installing an electric fan into a screen vent no power space but same size. So helpful to know it's possible.
It worked great until it didn’t. I used the fan approximately two dozen times over the course of a year. I usually ran the fan for an hour or less. Now the fan controls just beep. It will not turn on.
These are awesome! They can be used whether it is raining or not, no middle of the night scramble to shut all the vents. Since install we rarely run the AC. We have 2 installed, with a 3rd vent being the brand "fantastic fan" (it was our 1st one installed). Wish we would have known about these before listening to the dealer and wasting our time and money on the 1st install--all would be the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent!
It's a fabulous fan! Love it! It is quiet and I love that it is reversable - able to blow air in or out, and it has several speeds. I'm a little concerned about the touch screen power pad failing at some point, but that is because my experience with electronic touch pads is that they wear out pretty quickly, especially compared to switches or knobs. We will see, I guess.
I purchased three of these fans. A year later, there are no issues with them. The fans appear to be well built, had a straight forward installation, and are user friendly. I like that the fan assembly detaches from the mounting base for easier replacement if I ever need to replace one. My only complaint is that they are not available with a black housing. Unfortunately, the white plastic housing will eventually start yellowing, which white plastic components seems to always do after a few years. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase and would buy them again.
Installed this fan myself, fairly easy to install, once you fix the stuff that they should have cleaned-up and finished at the factory. Fan works as expected. MUCH better than the cheap fan I got at purchase. Happy with purchase, would buy this fan again.
Nice product, very impressed with it’s design, construction, functions, quality and ease of operations. It looks great on my Transit van. Being it’s a medium height roof I don’t want it to be any higher than it has to be. The low profile is nice. The height of van with Maxxfan open is 9 ft. 4 in. The etrailer installation video on the Transit was very helpful. I made a frame just as described on the video. Using the 2 x 2 ft. piece of 3/4 inch plywood to make the frame is the way to go. It provides the strength I needed due to the weight of my solar panel bracket just 3 inches away. The two screws you see near the edge of the frame is the solar panel bracket. A constructed picture frame style frame would never support the weight. It is a strong solid frame. The roof is solid.
Installed this 15 months ago, worked pretty well, bearings make some noise, and fan has slight wobble, but worse-off, just this week began to turn on by itself, and via the control panel would sometimes turn off when I pressed the power button, but most buttons just don't do anything when pressed. I had to disconnect the power, then re-connect, and, at first, it would be okay, but now it just stays on at a high speed when connected to power and unable to change anything on it, power, speed, direction.

> Now it just turns on when I connect power, and none of the control panel buttons do anything.
>
> It is connected to 12 V system 2 100 ah lithium batteries to buss bar and fuse box.
>What a shame at over $200 you would think this would last at least 3-5 years.
But, I suppose these days of cheap manufacturing and execs making more top dollar, well, we consumers pay the price.

Purchased this hitch bc it was confirmed it would bolt on my 2002 E-150 with no drilling, it's more hitch than I need for a bike rack (I've seen other reviews mention this) but it indeed installed easily and came with everything necessary. We didn't even need to move the canister, it was not too close to the bolting location on the frame. We watched the 2003 Ford van install video and it gave us all the info needed. Really happy with this purchase and etrailer for having all the info we needed available and answering questions promptly!
