Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com, and today we're going to take a quick look at the replacement wall control panel. This is a direct replacement for the wall control panel on your factory Maxxair Maxxfan Plus RV roof vent with the model that you see on the screen there. So if you have that model of Maxxair Maxxfan Plus RV roof vent, this is going to work with your unit to allow you to control both the speed, the electric lift lid as well as the thermostat and both the intake and exhaust. So just like your original, you've got all the same buttons, everything is exactly the same. They include the mounting hardware that you're going to need.
So the two screws, this little unit here that you'll screw into the wall and then simply slide your unit onto it. You can see our port there where we'll plug in our cord to control the fan.Just to give you an extra little peace of mind that this is the exact same as your original. Give you a few measurements here so you can see we're just over three inches. Call it about three inches and one eighth of an inch tall and right about two and three eighths of an inch wide. So it's going to do the exact same thing that your original did, allow you to control that roof vent.
And that's really all there is to it. So if you're needing a replacement for that control, this is going to be the part that you need. And that is going to complete our look at the replacement wall control panel. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

Replaces the wall control panel for your factory MaxxAir MaxxFan Plus RV roof vent.I added this wired controller to my remote controlled MaxxAir fan. Now I can control the fan while driving (the ir remote doesn't work from the drivers seat of my van). The cable plugs directly into a port on the fans control board. The hardest part of the install was running the wire.

Do not purchase the MAXXAIR fan. I’ve had nothing but trouble with it since I purchased it. Most of the time when I try to use it a green light flashes on the controller the fan shuts down and the lid closes. The only way I can make the unit work again is to disconnect it from the battery. I’ve talk to a MAXXAIR technician and he said it was the fan motor. They sent me a new motor and I installed it but the fan still shuts down for no reason. What a piece of junk. Now if I take the unit out and throw it away I’ll have a hole in the top of my camper shell. What am I to do.
Worked with no hiccups, it is approx %25 chunkier then the original.
When I ordered this controller I didn't realize that it's hard wired to the fan. I'll have to see about some cable and the best way to run the cable from the fan to the controller. Other wise the controller seems to be fine for the maxxair fan deluxe.

This is a direct replacement for specific fans. If you do not have the proper cable, you can purchase a communication cable like part # MA69FR. There is currently a back order on this right now so you would have to order to get on the wait list. In the meantime, you could use a RJ11 cable, but some of the functions may not work or will work backwards.

This is a good product though it is not an exact replacement in size. I had to make some mounting adjustments to get it to work. I recommend etrailer if you need Maxxair Fan roof vent parts. They have them in stock and ship them promptly. In fact, I received notice that my order was ready to ship 11/2 hours after I placed it. These guys are good especially Greg S.
etrailer is awesome. I can’t say enough great things about this company. There staff are ALWAYS helpful and will try there absolutely best to solve your issues and get you the right product. I have a 5th wheel and trying to deal with the dealership where I purchased it was a nightmare. I found etrailer on line and tried them out. Like I said before excellent customer service I won’t go anywhere else.
PROS: This replacement looks like it is better designed than the original membrane button panel it is designed to replace. The motorhome manufacturer typically makes a larger hole than necessary for the connecting phone cord to come through the wall, thus preventing use of at least one of the two mounting buttons and screws that come with the replacement unit. However, the Maxxfan Corp cleverly designed the unit to press fit into the previous mounting bracket for the unit being replaced. Although the control panel sticks out from the wall more, it's acceptable in appearance and makes mounting possible in the above cases where too much wall was cut away. The swapout is extremely simple, and takes 30 seconds if you've done it once before.
CONS: Maxxfan could have made the buttons appear more flush with the control panel face than the sort of "crooked" appearance they now have. However the unit is completely functional, and worked first try.
P.S: eTrailer Customer Service did a great job in correcting a misdelivery that was not their fault.

Works with the 5100k with a straight through ethernet cable with RJ 45 connectors on either end. I purchased a cat 8 cable and had to remove a lot of strain relief. Instead I would look for an older cable next time that is long enough.
took only a few minutes to replace 2 of the older units I had with bad keypads.
Works as it should.
Product was exactly as describde. The product was a upgrade and was an exact fit.
I had an issue with installing the RJ45 connection to the board inside the fan. The plug stuck out and made it difficult to put the fan back together. I do like the wall control better than the remote.

You have to read in the small print if a unit needed more parts to work, the vent I ordered needed the wall switch to operate in the correct manner I know you say this but should be clear right up front if any other parts are needed to make it a complete unit
