A great addition to your Malone Axis load extender is gonna be this roller. It's 42 inches long. It's just gonna make it a little bit smoother to get some of those longer loads up onto your roof, especially for kayaks. You don't really want it to scratch up. Obviously plastic is not as hard as the steel that the Axis is made of, so with the nice soft roller on there, you're gonna be able to just give this a little bit of extra help whenever we're loading up our kayaks, our boards, or anything else that you have. All in all, making a job a little bit easier is always something I look for and protecting my investment is also another thing I look for.
So this is definitely gonna be something that I would definitely get if I had the Malone Axis. It comes with all the hardware that we need to mount it up. All it gonna have is just a little stud, a little nut, and a washer. So we can either put it on the bottom or you can put it on the top, if that's gonna be best for you, but just know all you need to install it is a 17-millimeter socket. This isn't just for loading.
It's also for unloading and not just for kayaks. It can also be for ladders, or also some of those bigger lumber or pipes and stuff that you may be using. It just makes it so much easier to get the load off and it rolls nice and smoothly. You don't hear it scratching anything up. Especially if you're carrying stuff for a job site that potentially could get scratched and you don't wanna bring some damaged item to somebody's house and install it, and it's already scratched.
So it's just gonna protect it as long as you have it up on there. The roller is 42 inches. And what that means is just the rubber section right here. But when we have this installed, we're not gonna be able to do any adjustments with the Malone Axis. So from the inside to inside, it's about 45 inches whenever you have it completely loaded up.
So just know you're not gonna be able to adjust it, but it's super easy to take it off. So if you do need to adjust it in, it's not gonna be a problem. You just have to gonna have to remove the roller, and it's just two bolts. It really isn't a whole lot to this. It's just nice to have those extra little additions to your Malone Axis, just to make it a little bit easier to load up some of your stuff. So that's pretty much it for a look at the Malone Axis 42-inch rubber roller..

First just had the Thule goalpost mounted in front receiver hitch and headache rack on flatbed. Then I put this roller on, what a difference it made! (has about 1”clearance in front of goalpost) now I can load it solo. Thank you etrailer!

Good Product
This is how I turned this into 5 star product: Wings are too loose in the T Bar for the roller to stay level and turn freely. I shimmed the wings with washers and used bolts to make everything snug.I used bolts wherever it called for lock pins. My sole purpose is to load my kayak into the truck. It seems more secure against theft when the truck is left in the parking area.
If they fix the wing issue I would give a 5 star review.
The roller doesn't work properly, does not roll even when i put my kayak on it. The 2 sides that turn up are very rough and scuffs anything you haul. Also, needs to have some eyelets for tie downs.
Use it for both lumber and steel (14'-16') in F150 with 6.5 foot bed. Quick set up and breakdown. Storage is a little awkward due to size but no too bad.

Great product. Assembled right out of the box and loaded one heavy 17' canoe, two 18' kayaks, and lumber to build the storage rack. Carried them about 400 miles with no problem at all---no swaying, no metal fatigue, no stress (except for tailgating 18 wheelers). Highly recommend this carrier.
Good setup but needs padding on cross bar and would be nice if you could collapse the secondary support bar when it is in the vertical position to allow access to your tailgate. Had some sort of material in the primary tube that still has not come out. Easy to assemble.
This would be a five star rating, but I had to run an M8 X 1.25 tap through one of the anti-rattle holes to get the knob to attach. The rack is top notch, and the anti-rattle features are not required but certainly are a plus. I installed this on a 2022 Toyota Tacoma after buying another brand that would not go high enough to be level with the bed. Buy the Malone Safety Flags while you have free shipping from etrailer.
I love this product do to its easy operation and the multi ways you can adjust it.
Its sturdy enough to handle almost anything.
Great tool to have if loading long items in your truck
This guy is awesome... Just opened my own garage door service biz and this will allow me to easily move door panels. I'll be running plywood from the tailgate past the tee for decking so panels don't flex during transit. Awesome affordable option for me... better than a $3500 trailer at this point.

Limited use so far, but it seems well thought-out. Much quieter than I expected.
Outstanding truck extender. Easily assembled by a 63-year-old petit lady. Added an accessory roller to easily slide a ten-foot plus kayak. Easy to disassemble into two separate parts for easy storage. Even though extender includes traffic safety reflector tape, it does NOT include a traffic safety flag. Can’t wait to use it to transport my fishing kayak this summer.
I have owned this extender for one year +. I use it to carry two 12.5 ft. Kayaks. The extender does its job, safely and securely carries the yaks all over the Midwest. The only modification I made was to the "goalpost uprights" I cut a swimming noodle to length, cut a slit to allow the noodle to fit over the uprights. The uprights are a hard point of contact, and needed something to protect the kayak. Quality product.

I have used this more than I thought. Works great and is solid. You need a wrench for two bolts to install or remove, but it's an easy install.
