This is my favorite way to transport my fiberglass kayaks. Boats do not get beat up by the cradles. Easy to adjust and come off for storage in seconds. I can use the same blocks on a trailer or roof rack.

Still my preferred way to cradle my kayaks for travel. As long as the straps are good and tight nothing moves. They can also be used for kayak storage.

by:

These foam kayak blocks have worked well for me. The very grippy bottom material is the best feature, and is something I have not seen on other blocks. The cut-outs work well with my square cross bars.

by:

Pleasant, took the time to look into the questions I had, found the perfect product.
Would definitely buy from trailer again

by:

These are perfect for my Eddyline kayak. They fit over my Malone Airflow2 crossbars pretty well. It was fairly difficult getting them onto the bars. I ended up using soapy water which helped a lot.

by:

Why would anybody buy expensive kayak saddles when this works perfectly? Excellent heavy-duty dense foam with a center channel that conforms perfectly on my oval Rhino Aero rack bars.

It works very well with the factory rack on my 2019 Subaru Outback

by:

This was my first (and NOT last) order from etrailer.com. Someone had literally stolen my foam blocks for my kayak from my FRONT PORCH in broad daylight, and I had made plans to go kayaking with my daughter, and suddenly had no way to get my boat to the lake. I did an Internet search for the foam blocks and found etrailer.com. I ordered the blocks and paid for expedited shipping. The blocks arrived three days EARLIER than expected, in fact, they were overnighted, and were not only in perfect shape, but were nicer than the blocks I originally had....these having a non skid rubber surface where the block contacts the car top. I am VERY happy with the results of my order, and will certainly be ordering again, should the need arise.

by:

Product was exactly as advertised. Dimensions given were precise. Shipping was quick and product was packed properly for protection.

by:

They work well, one on a Thule square bar, the other on a flat rack. They conform slightly to the surfaces they touch, but are still firm, which I believe keeps them from moving around.

by:

Foam block had the non-skid film damaged and lifted up - had to glue it back down.

Fits perfectly on my Tesla Model 3 original Tesla-made roof rack. No more fooling around sliding my T-slot kayak holders into position on that rack. Clean look, no wind whistling through making annoying noises, not wasting energy when not in use.

by:

These foam padding are perfect for hauling our kayaks and the best part is they are made to fit our ladder racks exactly.

by:

Works perfectly. Great that the holes to fit the roof bars are now shaped for modern, aerodynamic bars, instead of the old round ones.

by:

Great product! Had it for more than a year and a great fit!

by:

What you see is what you get. Works well on my aero crossbars

by:

This foam block works as it should between kayak and vehicle roof. Not too soft. Doesn't move around.

by:

Fast, hassle-free delivery. Just what I needed

by:

Worked great for my Toyota Highlander and wilderness system Tsunami 14'. Helped secure Yak with straps and create a more secure fit

by:

Working really good so far......

by:

What I ordered, shipped, and received timely, and works as described, thanks

by:

Fast shipment! Thanks!

by:

Just as expected. Good value.

  • Foam Kayak Blocks to Fit a Roof Rack on a Toyota Rav4 if the Aero Style Foam Blocks Are Too Small
I see that you got the Malone Foam Block for Kayaks # MPG158 in the past. These blocks are designed to be used with round, square, aero, elliptical, and most factory crossbars. But since you mentioned that the Malone Foam Block for Kayaks # MPG158 are too small for the bars on your Toyota Rav4, then the Malone Foam Kayak Block for Truck Racks # MPG159 would be a good route to go. Truck bed racks are typically slightly larger than vehicle cross bars. So if the # MPG158 were too small, then...

  • Carrying 2 Kayaks on Front of 09 Dodge When Towing 5th Wheel
We have a setup for you that will allow you to carry your two kayaks. You will need the Rhino-Rack T-Load Hitch Mounted Load Assist and Support Bar for 2" Hitches - 49" Long # RTL002. This is able to install in a 2 inch front hitch like the one on your 2009 2500 Dodge Quad cab. You would also need a Darby single bar roof rack # DTA968 and some Foam Blocks(described below). For the crossbar, you're able to adjust a little bit, and the instructions will give you information on how...

  • Recommended 2-Kayak Carrier Solution for 2015 GMC Sierra Double Cab with Folding Tonneau Cover
Folding tonneau covers can sometimes be tough to fit along with a ladder rack since often both will use the same or similar attachment points on the tops or sides of the bed rails. But I do have a great solution for you for transporting two 14-foot kayaks with a total weight of 150-lbs that will actually cost you a lot less than many quality ladder racks AND avoid any concerns about compatibility with your tonneau cover. The solution I recommend is a hitch-mount load support bar. Darby...

  • How to Carry 2 Kayaks with the Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier on a 2013 Toyota Tundra
The foam block that comes with the Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier # DTA944-968-924 is really only meant to be used with 1 kayak so if you plan on carrying 2 you need to acquire more blocks with part # MPG158. We do have some tie-downs attached to the load extender down to the safety chain loops to help stabilize the load extender. Please note that this kit is meant to be used for short distances as the roof rack crossbar is very basic and isn't meant for long distance traveling. If...

As long as both of your kayaks will fit on the 48 inch crossbar of the extender the Darby Extend-A-Truck # DTA944-968-924 will work to carry them on your 2016 Ford F-150. You will also need additional Foam Blocks # MPG158, Straps # TH521, and Hitch Pin # PC3 or # e98880.

The Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier w/ Hitch Mounted Load Extender # DTA944-968-924 that you referenced would fit and work on a 2006 Ford Ranger like what you have. This carrier comes with one foam block but an similar additional block, # MPG158 can be purchased. Tie-down straps are not included with the # DTA944-968-924. You can purchase tie-down cinch straps like part # TH521 to secure the kayak.

  • Recommended Carrier for SUP on 2002 Toyota Tundra Extended Cab
I have two options I recommend for you to carry your SUP on your 2002 Toyota Tundra Extra Cab. Either set-up will work great for carrying your SUP. One option is to use crossbars on the cab of your truck to carry the SUP. I recommend using the Inno Square Bar Roof Rack, # INB147 for the crossbars, # INSUT for the foot pack, and # INK532 for the fit kit. These crossbars have a 140 pound weight capacity and a 28 inch spread when installed on your Tundra. To hold your SUP while on the crossbars,...

To install these onto your roof you will also need Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 49" Long - Qty 2 and Rhino-Rack SX Series Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars - Raised Factory Side Rails - Qty 4, parts # RRVA126B-2 and # RRSX100. • Recommendations for Carrying Kayaks and Bikes while Pulling Travel Trailer with 2002 GMC Sierra 1500
I have a way to help you carry all of your equipment at the same time or individually on your 2002 GMC Sierra 1500. First, I recommend the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers - 7,500 lbs # D210. This will work as long as your travel trailer is less than that 7500 lb capacity. This will allow you to carry a bike rack and tow a trailer, or it will allow you to tow a trailer and use a load extender for your kayaks. I recommend the Rhino-Rack...

  • How to Use Rhino-Rack T-Load System to Transport Kayak on 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500
The Rhino-Rack T-Load Hitch Mounted Load Assist and Support Bar # RTL002 that you referenced is designed to be used with an existing roof rack crossbar system or bare roof carrier, which aren't included with the kit. If you want to go with a more permanent setup to use with the T-Load the best route is with a crossbar system. • Will Malone Foam Block for Kayaks # MPG158 Fit on Factory Crossbars of Honda CR-V
Yes, the Malone Foam Block for Kayaks # MPG158 will fit on the factory crossbars of your Honda CR-V. The opening for the bars is a bit larger than you'd need but it would still fit and work well. For a strap set for the bow and stern you'd then want the part # MPG306 and you'd be set.

The Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier # DTA944-968-924 referenced in your question will work great on your 2014 Toyota Tacoma as long as it has a naked roof. The single crossbar roof rack portion of this system is a universal-fit application that will mount to any naked roof with non-scratch foam feet and a strap that will run through the truck cab to secure everything into place. The load extender will then slide into the 2 inch trailer hitch on your Tacoma and adjust vertically for use...

  • Can 2 Kayaks Be Carried on a Chevrolet Colorado Using the Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier
There are 2 things that you will need to check before knowing for certain whether the Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier # DTA944-968-924 will allow you to carry 2 kayaks with your Colorado or not. First of all the roof rack part has a weight capacity that is equal to that of your roof. You will want to check your owner's manual to verify what that is. However, it does use a universal crossbar that wouldn't be quite as secure as a custom roof rack. The crossbar wouldn't go anywhere once installed. But the connection would not be nearly as solid.
