Today we'll be taking a look at and installing our replacement mounting bracket for Hopkins seven pull and four pull trailer connector sockets, Part Number HM40978. This is what it looks while installed using our line bracket here. It's nice and firm so it's not going to go anywhere. You can see this truck is shaking because I've pulled on it. This is the connector. This is how this mounts up in here. If you lost or broke your bracket, this is your option to go with instead of buying a whole new kit.
I'm going to pull this through. It connects our seven pull/four pull in place. Set that through and it just snaps in place. That's not going to go anywhere and you have full access to both sides of your trailer connector. Let's show you how it's installed. To make this work, I'm going to be using our long bracket, so clamp around our frame, giving us a place to mount our bracket here.
We use our bolt here, pass that through. On the back side I'm going to put a washer and then the nut that comes with it. These washers don't come with the kit, but I suggest finding some because the holes are kind of big on the back and you want a nice place for these to grab onto. Holding the nuts on the back side, the star washer kind of does the work for us. I'm just going to tighten it down. Then I can grab my clamp and go around our hitch to hold it in place.
The clamp just goes through the bracket and I feed it through itself right here as much as I can. Here's the bolt. I hold it away from the bracket, and when I'm ready to tighten it I push the bolt towards it so that the teeth can grab it. Now that I've got my bolt the way I want it, I'm going to go ahead and start tightening it. I'm going to kind of tuck this up behind the hitch so it doesn't grab onto anything while we're going down the road. Confirm it's nice and tight, and I can break that off or fold it, which I'm just going to fold it, and it's nice and tucked away behind the hitch.
That's our look at the replacement mounting bracket, Part Number HM40978.Speaker 2: You can find this and everything else right here at etrailer.com. What's up man.

Replaces the mounting bracket for your Hopkins 7- and 4- pole trailer connector socket (HM40975 or HM40975-11998).Installed a lift gate or "Tommy Lift" so I had to install an aftermarket hitch and needed a bracket for the trailer wiring harness this fits great on my 2022 GMC Sierra "refresh".
Exactly what I needed to relocate the trailer plug on my 2019 4Runner. I had to use two spacers I made out of an aluminum tube that I already had to get the clearance from the bumper facia but this worked perfectly. The plug just snapped out of the original factory bracket and snapped right into this bracket. Now I don't have to lay under my 4Runner to plug in and unplug my boat and camper.

After a year of using the relocating bracket, its one of the best things Ive done to make hooking up my boat and camper.
These guides save me a lot of trouble by getting the boat lined up properly on the trailer when I’m taking out. Some ramps are steep but the height of these guides works with them too. It was a good purchase!
I did my research to find the best product for my needs and discovered the Hopkins 8- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket Mounting Bracket. Further research lead me to Etrailer.com.
I am very happy with the price, delivery time and the product!
I’m ecstatic to find a new online source for my trailer parts needs!
Went on like a charm. This is my 3rd rodeo with Etrailer. Two receiver, hitches, and a weight distribution camlock. All of them were exactly as promised.
Fit a 7/4 pin connector sockets for a stock 2021 Ford Transit perfectly and looks OEM+
Awesome fit on my 07 f150 the only problem was I couldn't open the doors on the front after being mounted flush. Easy redneck fix tho grabbed a 5/8 nut and a longer 1/2" bolt and nut and used the 5/8 as a spacer between the mount and the stock holes. Looks a million times better then being held up with zip ties like before.

Still holding up perfectly used plenty of times
Fits my 7 & 4 way plug!
Connector snapped right in and it's stiff enough to pull the trailer connector out without much flexing.
Since the connector is on its side, it is much higher off the ground than other brackets; less likely to be damaged.
Not an exact fit. Had to slightly modify to make it fit the proper way.
I only had to buy this because the trailer hitch didn’t include it like it should have.
Looked everywhere for a bracket to reposition the trailer sockets on my 2018 4Runner. Factory placement had it buried under the body. My boat trailer wiring could barely reach the 4-flat socket and I had to actually lie on the ground to plug in my lights. This was the only product I could find that fit my needs. I did have to cut two 1" spacers for the product to clear the plastic bumper so I could access the connector sockets. It did fit without drilling any holes which was important to me. I just needed to buy longer bolts. Happy with the results - no more lying on the ground to plug in my trailer!
The Original single plug was hung too low and scraped the driveway entry as I entered or left the driveway. Your bracket allowed me to relocate the better plug assembly closer to the bumper much higher than the hitch receiver.
Exactly what was needed. Direct fit, plug and play. Saved the day! Amazing fast shipping too. Finished my hitch project perfectly.
Bought this a year ago. Easy to install with Mopar wiring kit onto my Jeep. Still doing what it’s supposed to do.
Service manager says "the product fit, so therefore 5 stars"
It works. I needed to relocate the factory connector from underneath my 4Runner to a place where it was actually usable. This did the trick.
Very sturdy and easy to install.
product is oem quality and shipped in a timely matter.

This is the perfect solution for my needs after removing the tail gate for a “Tommy Lift”.
