Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're taking a quick look at the rear view safety backup camera. This is a waterproof camera that also has infrared lights. So it's gonna be able to see in the dark, makes a really nice addition to your RV or van or anything else that you wanna put this on. It is designed for an RV. So it's gonna come with a very long cable, 66 feet or 20 meters to make sure that you can get that connection from one end to the other. It's pretty simple.
You'll have your camera, it's got a shade bracket and then the cable will go to that and that will connect to this little RCA adapter. The red wire splits off to go to your power source from there. So shouldn't be too bad as far as the install, you just wanna find a nice high spot on your RV that's gonna give you a good viewing angle. This has 150 degree viewing angles. So pretty nice wide view, what's going on behind you.
Again, infrared lights allow you to see what's going on even in low light situations or at night and it is waterproof. It's IP68 rated so that means it's impervious to dust and it's pretty much submersible. So as long as you're not in the ocean, it should still work no matter what kind of weather you're going through, you can also power wash your RV and hit dust and it won't really matter. Of course, you don't wanna just spray the camera itself but it shouldn't be affected by that at all. It should be a really nice robust camera for your system.
So you can take a little closer, talk a little bit more about the specs here. The shade is adjustable, so you can get this angled at whatever makes most sense for your setup. You wanna just reduce the glare that you're gonna have by changing the angle there. So most of the time it's gonna be mounted like this on the back of your RV. So just angle that camera out and get that sunshade wherever it needs to be.
Comes with a grommet already on the cable to make sure that there's no water that's gonna get into your RV or vehicle and should be a pretty easy setup. It does come with some more hardware. You do get a couple more screws to make sure that sunshade stays in place and also a couple of screws to mount this onto the backside of your RV as well. The only real thing that you'll need with this kit besides a couple of back connectors to make that connection to your power and ground, would be a monitor. This doesn't come with one but since it has the RCA cables should be pretty easy to find one that works. We have a lot of options here at etrailer.com. So if you wanna go that route, we have you covered there. All in all, it should be a really complete system. RBS is a very trusted name in the industry, they make a lot of OEM products so it should be a great addition to your rig, does have a one-year warranty on this. So that's pretty much it for our quick look at the rear view safety backup camera. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right camera for you. We do have a lot of other options available here at etrailer.com and all kinds of stuff for your RVs in general. So be sure to check it out and thanks for watching..
