Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the REDARC Adapter harness for Curt Brake Controller harnesses. But why don't we take a couple minutes, check this out and make sure it's gonna be what you need. Here's an example of that adapter plug in use, and not really a whole lot to this but it is really convenient to have in those particular situations. So let's say you already have a Curt harness in your vehicle and you're just changing brake controllers. Instead of having to redo that whole harness, you can simply just take the REDARC adapter plug it into that Curt end, and right into the REDARC brake controller.
So it really simplifies things. If you already have, you know that style of wiring there, you can utilize it just with that adapter. Or in our case today we have a Santa Fe, a Hyundai Santa Fe and we put in the REDARC brake controller. The Santa Fe has a factory brake controller connector plug. The only issue was I couldn't find an adapter harness that plugged right into the factory connector to the REDARC brake controller.
And so that's where the REDARC adapter here came into play. I could however, find an adapter harness, from Curt that plugged into the factory and has this end so we plugged into the factory, having the Curt end we got the REDARC to Curt adapter, plugged that right in, right into the brake controller. So all plug and play, that's how it turned out for our situation and really was extremely convenient, especially on the install side of things. It's kind of a better look at that adapter plug. Like I said, really nothing to it.
This is the brake controller side. This is a side that'll plug into the Curt Harness. This will work with the REDARC Classic, the Liberty, and the Tow Pro Elite. And they have several variations of this. So, like I said, REDARC to Curt, they have some that go from REDARC to Tekonsha style wiring and I believe even some others, some of the other popular ones, these are probably the most popular that we see.
So regardless of what you got, there's probably something there for you, or you know, if you don't have a, you know, if there's not a direct plug and play in that matches up with your current wiring or whatever, or if you just have bare wires. There's also this style of wiring too, which will plug into the brake controller and then you just have bare wires here and you can use butt connectors, if you splice into your existing wiring. So regardless of the situation, there's gonna be a solution for you. And that will finish up our look at of the REDARC wiring adapter for Curt Brake Controller harnesses.
