Add another Redarc solar panel to your solar system to increase your charging power and extend your off-grid campout. Multiple-panel solar arrays are most efficient when you use panels with the same wattage, so we recommend adding this to a system with other 50-watt panels. When panels of different wattages are combined, the panel with the larger rating will have its performance reduced.
Be mindful of the amperage and wattage limitations of your solar charge controller, as exceeding those limits may cause the solar array to not function.
Redarc offers multiple options for connecting multiple panels. It's important to understand what effect they will have. If you are unsure of what would work best for you, you should consult an electrician or dealer for professional advice and installation.
Redarc offers Anderson connectors to wire panels in series (RED53VR) or parallel (RED59VR). By wiring your panels in series, you will increase the total panel voltage output. By wiring your panels in parallel, you increase the total amperage. In both cases, you get increased battery charging power going to your solar charge controller. If you increase your total voltage or amperage beyond what your charge controller can handle, it will not function properly. In solar arrays of 4 or 6 panels, you can wire half in series and half in parallel, so neither the volts nor amps exceed your controller's limitations. By being mindful of these options, it can save you the pain of having to buy a more expensive solar charge controller that can handle the increased input.
Redarc also offers MC4 style connectors for wiring panels in parallel (RED78VR). Since the connectors on the panel itself use MC4 connections, this eliminates the need for an MC4 to Anderson adapter and will make for a cleaner install.
For installing panels on the roof of your RV, also remember to get some Redarc Solar Panel corner mounts (RED79VR) and side mounts (RED89VR). The side mounts are especially great for multi-panel arrays, as they hold two panels together at their corners, conserving space on your roof while holding panels securely.

Hi, everybody. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our Redarc Solar Expansion Kit. It's a 50 watt solar panel. So folks, with this expansion kit, you're gonna be able to add one, quantity of one, panel to your Redarc array, and then provide more battery charging power. You simply attach it to your roof with the included corner and edge mounts.
And it's compatible with the Redarc Solar Charge Controllers and Battery Management System. As you can see, it's got the cable connections and everything already in place, ready to go. And you got the nine holes here already pre-drilled and everything as well, which comes standard. Now this works best and most efficiently when paired with other 200 watt panels. It is a monocrystalline solar panel.
Let me zoom in there. So as you can see, you've got the monocrystalline material here and it's gonna charge your battery at 200 watts an hour in optimal daylight conditions. Now this is a smaller size compared to what's known as polycrystalline panels with the same wattage. So this panel's gonna minimize space and give you the same output and charging power. Now the weatherproof materials stand up to the elements.
It has those MC4 connectors that I showed you on the back. And they're gonna give you a quick and easy setup to just simply plug and play once you got it installed and while you're installing it. Now the charge controller, wiring, and mounting hardware will be sold separately if you need those. And I always tell people, make sure you talk to an electrician if you're not as well versed on the electrical components, the amps, the watts, and all those kind of things. Make sure you get the right system and set up and connectors even, because the connectors sometimes are only rated for so many watts or amps and those kind of things as well.
So just kind of keep in mind all those different things whenever you're looking at all these kits. Some real quick dimensions. Overall, I get about 19 and seven eighth inches wide. On a height or length, however you want describe it, 23 and one quarter inches. And I measured it earlier and it's one and three eighth inches thick. That's pretty lightweight. It's about eight pounds, give or take. And again, you got your connectors on the back. Very nice addition. This is the Redarc Solar Expansion Kit, 50 Watt Solar Panel. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.

If you do a lot of remote camping, this works really well. Combined with a BCDC charger, this is the ultimate batery charging system.
Have just return from a camping trip with the solar panel installed. It worked great. Had full batteries during the day while running my refrigerator. My overall purchase experience was excellent. William took care of the issue I had with the first panel which I received that was slightly damaged in shipping. He arranged a replacement which arrived in time for my trip. Installation was easy and very secure. Looking forward to this year which will included long trips to hot locations and I will be using my freezer to enjoy ice cream. Thanks!
