Today we're going to review part number 7-75. This is the Brake Mounting Bolt for 7" and 10" Brake Assemblies. This bolt is used to attach your brake assembly to your trailer. This is a grade 5 bolt, as you can see it has the three indicator marks, that means a grade 5. The overall length of this bolt from the top of the hex head to the very end is a 11/2", the threaded portion is going to be a 1 1/4", the bolt size is 7/16" diameter by 20 size, the 20 means 20 threads per inch. We also sell separately the mounting nut, which is part number 6-17, that is used to go on to the bolt itself, but those pieces are all sold separately. The head size on this bolt is going to be . I have a socket here which is 5/8, and that is what fits the head size on this bolt. 5 years ago I purchased a disc brake kit for my 24' boat trailer. It had the standard rusted out drum kits so I thought to make the move to disc, as I do my boating in the saltchuck. The install went super easy and it has given me great service.
So, I have a new trailer that needs a full rebuild of the brakes. I started on the website, and as I was assembling my order, a couple of questions come up. So I called Customer Support. Katie was the one who answered the phone and walked me through what was needed, confirmed the differences in a couple of the components that were not explained on the website. Even tracked down one of the technical guys to explain the backup valve functionality. She then walked through the parts listing to confirm, so when it arrives, there would be no surprises or shortages.
Here next step was to confirm shipping dates. She checked stock on all the parts, a couple were back ordered, so she confirmed when they were to arrive, so the 1 shipment would be complete. As I am in Canada, coordinated with the broker to get the parts to me.
At the end of the call, I had the pricing, which was AWESOME, confirmation of shipping dates and contact info, if I had questions or concerns.
The day she said it would arrive at the broker, it DID! She followed up with the status!
Looking forward to getting the system installed next week!
Thanks again for great service and having knowledgeable folks to work with!

The 7-75 bolts are an excellent replacement to mount the brakes to the 4-bolt flange on my 1997 Coleman Fleetwood Bayports popup camper that I am close to finishing a restoration process on. They fit perfectly! Very happy to purchase an excellent product from the fastest shipper I have ever come across. I am blown away by the professionalism with this company!
Thanks

by:

The brake assemblies and bolts arrived yesterday and today from UPS. Apparently, the two boxes got separated by UPS. Everything looked good, however, I was surprised that the three left hand brake assemblies did not have LEFT stamped on them. Not a big problem, but thought you might like the info. Ray

I got extremely helpful information from Carla regarding brake parts for my trailer. She knows what she is doing. She helped me get what I needed. Plus I saved a lot of money compared to buying the same product at a local Redneck stored. About eighty dollars. I highly recommend etrailer. Mike

by:

Hydraulic trailer drum brakes. Received within a few days. Easy to install, not that complicated. Needed a second person to help bleed the brakes.

by:

Exact fit backing plates with brakes.very fast shipping.easy instalation.works great.was told I need to order bolts also but they came pressed in backing plates already so I have an extra set of bolts.you do need nuts and washers tho.

by:

Simply the best. Best price, best quality and easy to install. Also there are great videos etrailer has for installation of most of their parts. Dont waste your time shopping around. These gutd have the best price. Thanks guys

by:

All items came as advertised, and very quickly. The bolts for the mounting plates were not needed, as the plates came with installed fasteners. Everything went together, as it should. Good pricing!

by:

The ordered items fit perfect on my old trailer. And the packet arrived right on time. Pricing is extremely affordable. It was a great pleasure to do business with etrailer.com.

by:

Excellent quality part. Exact replacement part to complete my brake job. I actually placed my order for just the brake assemblies and etrailer advised purchasing the bolts, washers and nuts. Great advice. Thanks.

by:

Direct replacement bolt to attach the caliper mounting bracket to the axle

by:

Ordered these as extra's in case I needed them. Found out I did not need them because the brakes already had the mounting bolts. Also found out I order the wrong size and these would not work. Will keep anyway. Always need extra bolts for something.

by:

Worked great to mount the drum brakes.

by:

It's just a bolt.... but you don't need them on the 7" replacement brakes since they come with the pressed-in bolt studs already in place.

by:

Great service from Pat C! Answered all my questions and assisted me with determining the correct parts for my project. Shipping was fast and the whole process was seamless!

by:

Everything works well. I will definitely order form etrailer again when I need stuff.

by:

Did not need. Studs were already in brake fixture. But are a good product.

by:

right bolts for the job. No need to go looking for a fit at a hardware store

by:

Top notch products and quick delivery at a reasonable shipping price, unlike so many online sellers these days who inflate the shipping charges to boost profits!!! Highly recommended!!!

by:

All parts are doing well. There have been no issues with anything.

by:

Great products, great prices and great service. what more can I say?

by:

George,
I will be installing at the
end of the month and will let you know how it all works out then.

Thanks

  • Titan Brake Assembly Free Back or Universal Difference and Installation, Hardware and Flanges
The difference between the Titan Galphorite Uni-Servo Hydraulic Trailer Brake Assembly part # T4445300, and the Titan Galphorite Free-Backing Hydraulic Trailer Brake Assembly part # T4423500, is that that part # T4423500 is a Free-Backing brake assembly. It will not apply brake pressure when the trailer is in reverse. So which brake assembly to choose is your choice on whether you want to have brakes on the trailer while in reverse, the part # T4445400, will allow you to have brakes in...

  • Does the Demco Hydraulic Drum Brake Assembly Come With the Drum?
I do have a solution for you but the answer to your question is no, the Demco Hydraulic Drum 3,500 lbs - 10" Brake Assembly # DMSB24429M is just the brake assembly without the drum. Keep in mind that when selecting a brake assembly and hubs that you make sure they will have the same weight capacity that your axle has. You will want to make sure that whichever brake assembly you choose that you get the Right Hand side as well, in this case it would be the Hydraulic Drum Brake part # DMSB24428M. I...

  • Comparing Different Hydraulic Trailer Brakes for Boat Trailer
Essentially yes, all of them will work for your trailer assuming you have 3,500 pound axles and a 4 bolt mounting flange. However, there are some differences between the brake assemblies you mentioned. The # AKFBBRK-35 are free-backing brakes, meaning they will not engage when reversing with your trailer. If your trailer has a reverse lockout on it then this feature is not necessary. They're coated with an e-coat used for corrosion resistance. The Demco brakes # 40716-15 are galvanized...

  • Kodiak Disc Brake Kit Recommendation for a Dexter D52-8 Axle
Your current brake mounting flange hardware would work to install the mounting flanges of the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2HR712E. The bolt length should be just fine from your mounting flanges. We have installed these kits on several trailer here and have never had to get longer bolts for the flanges. This kit will also fit the spindle you have on your Dexter D52-8 axle. The ID number for your axle means that it is a Dexter 5,200 lb axle with a 8 lug bolt pattern.

The brake mounting bolt # 7-75 is just made of steel. If you can find a galvanized or stainless bolt with the same threads (bolt size is 7/16-20 and length is 1-1/4 inches) you could use it. Check a local hardware store. Bring one of the old bolts with you so you are sure to get a good match. If you go with these steel bolts the matching nut is # 6-17 and the lockwasher is # 5-8.
