Video Transcript for White Grease Hitch Ball Lube Feature Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at Part Number 58117. This is the Reese white grease hitch ball lubricant. This lube is going to get applied to your hitch ball. It's going to reduce the amount of friction between the hitch ball and the socket of your coupler. It's going to help extend the life of your hitch ball and make connecting and disconnecting much easier. The lube is going to be a non-toxic white grease that's designed so it won't break down.

It's also water resistant. It's going to come packaged in a four ounce container. By having the hitch ball lubricated, it can help keep your locking mechanism on your coupler working smoothly and properly, which is also going to prevent corrosion and it can also help quiet the connection. That's going to do it for today's review of Part Number 58117. This is the Reese white grease hitch ball lubricant. .

This product works well but I don't have any other grease hitch ball lube to compare it to so I have no idea whether it is the best or not.

by:

Have used this product for a very long time, with excellent results. Lubication is a wonderful thing! I learned the hard way a long time ago when my trailer hitch ball was stuck. Had a hard time freeing up. Never used a lube before and this product is specific to hitch balls. No more problems. The price is the best here at etrailer.com. A jar will last many years.

Great, good stuff, specific to trailer bail

by:

As expected, this Reese hitch lube works very well to protect both sides of the connection. Used this before, and came back for more. I like it much better than bearing grease, which is what I used to use. I apply it on the ball and lubed areas of my load levelers on very large and regular sized trailers.
Certainly recommend.

Its ball lube... Certainly works better than bearing grease.

Reese White Grease Hitch Ball Lube is a good water resistant grease for all hitches. It will extend the life of your hitch by preventing binding, rusting, and galling. I always wipe the ball and hitch clean when I am done towing.

Still using the lube and it does a terrific job protecting the ball and hitch.

Great product and works great too!!

by:

Not much to say about grease. It is greasy. I've applied it about 3 times in the last year. I tow a 3k lb trailer about 2-3 times a month. Probably wipe more off putting the ball cover on and off than using it up but I'm happy with its performance.

I looked everywhere for this product - so had to order on line.
ETrailer had the best price. This is the best lube for my ball hitch on my horse trailer. So glad I found it again. Thanks.

I brought this item to use on my Jet skis trailer,It was recommended by so many people ,Having used it on my trailer hitch I'm very pleased how it puts a nice coating and protects against friction ,its early days but i believe this will be a long lasting protection crease

Very well.Really is a good product

by:

All items received quickly. All items fit and work actually better than I though they might! The 2-5/16 ball cover is not too tight but stays put. The ball lube is thick and stays put, as well. Hard to find both of these items locally. Thank you etrailer...again!

Still pleased with performance of both products. Both are currently in service today.

I own a 31ft Cabin Cruiser boat that weighs around 10,000lbs and the trailer itself weighs over 2000lbs. Every time I would pull the boat out of the water the back of my truck would squat a little and the trailer jack would occasionally scrape the ground. So I purchased this Hitch Ball and mounted it upside down so that the ball is higher than the bumper of the truck and now the trailer is level when cruising down the interstate fully loaded.

This Hitch ball is very heavy and completlely solid! I dont hear any noises coming from the hitch at all.

Etrailer had the best price around and will always contine shopping with them anytime I need any trailer parts

by:

I got exactly what I purchased...Thanks

by:

This little jar of "stuff" has saved me many headaches when unhitching my travel trailer from the tow vehicle. Before I bought this I would have a tough time sometimes getting the hitch off the ball and also difficulty getting it back on. This lubricant makes it so easy to hitch up and unhitch. The only word of warning is to watch out for the hitch ball with your pant legs because it will leave a major grease stain on your pants if you rub against the ball. Its white going on but it turns black from friction I guess. It lasts a very long time too because you only need a very little bit each time.

by:

I have been using Reese Hitch grease for about 15 years. I have had very little wear or gaulding on any of the hitch balls or sway balls I have used it on. It is expensive grease but I like it better than colored grease that gets all over everything. At least if this gets on you, wipe it off and it does not show.

by:

Product worked well. I used it this weekend to hitch/unhitch my travel trailer to my truck and even though the ball didn't slide out as easy as I'd hoped, it took less rocking back and forth than without the lube. I was told that these types of lubricants can collect a lot of dirt and make the situation worse, but I am willing to test that theory out myself.

by:

I did a search to figure out why my RV camper was not unhitching easily from the towing ball. Honestly, this was such a problem that we could not figure out and were weary of jumping on the hitch and trying to jiggle the ball to break free. What I liked so much about your company was that your company suggested possible reasons that the ball was sticking and offered several solutions. I realized that I was unhitching on uneven ground and that a lube might help. The lube worked exactly as you said. A very inexpensive solution plus we knew why it was happening and could reposition the camper. Product arrived quickly and customer service attentive. Good job!!

by:

The ease of making this purchase and to track to destination was as good as it gets for on-line shopping.

Best buy Ive made in a while. Keeps things moving like a duck through water. It doesnt take much and the jar has lasted a year and still is 23 full.

Does the job! Put this on my trailer ball and no more squeaks when towing! Great product, handy size.

Great! Still have about half the jar left. I use a tennis ball with the great in it and store it that way as I tow 3-4 times a month. Easy to clean off your hands, not sticky or too thick. Good product that works well.

by:

I had no idea you should use greese on your hitch ball. My hitch was so bad I could not get the hitch to engage. After using the White Hitch Ball Lube hooking up was a breeze. I would highly recommend this product.

by:

Good product, I first used it on a new hitch ball that I used to pull a 26' covered car hauler with for 600 miles. When I arrived at my destination I took a rag and cleaned off the hitch ball and found that I couldn't hardly tell that it had been used.

by:

Love this product. We have used it for years. Haven't received the new batch yet since they sent a tail light instead of ball lube.

We have been towing a travel trailer over 30 years and there is nothing like a Reese Hitch. When we bought our newest trailer a 34’ tow behind we added the Reese anti-sway bar for more stability and safer towing. We have traveled 18,000 miles using our newest Reese addition and it has out performed our expectations.

by:

Product worked just as it should: lubricates my ball joints, hitch and towing ball keeping them working as they should. Great price and very fast delivery.

by:

I use this product to lubricate the hitch ball and other parts of the hitch equipment and it works great. It's also white and a little less "messy" than some other grease products. I used a container of it and had trouble finding it locally so I ordered it through e-trailer. It was delivered promptly and their service was excellent.

by:

This stuff is great. I made the mistake of operating without it - don't do what I did and potentially damage your ball. Fortunately I just have a few nicks and scrapes from an older trailer I bought. The trailer used to stick on the ball when lifting it up, that's not a problem anymore. Make sure you wear gloves - if you don't it will be on your hands all day long which is a testament to the staying power of the grease.

by:

Thanks for packing the greasy jar in a separate bag! And glad it is a small container which will fit in my camper.

I recommend the Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter # RP85FR for your 2021 Forest River Salem Hemisphere 5th wheel camper with 1621 pin box. This is currently the only 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter that will not void the chassis and other warranties on your camper. It is rated for campers up to 16,000lbs with a tongue weight capacity of up to 3,200lbs. The Reese Safety Chain Kit # RP49151 is required since you are switching to a ball type connection. If...

This socket will fit inside the opening for the nut that fastens the hitch ball. The socket will require a 3/4" Ratchet # PT74VR. You will then be able to replace the hitch ball with a 2" # A-90 or 2-5/16" # C40030 Hitch Ball. Using White Grease Hitch Ball Lube # 58117 will help to reduce damage to the hitch ball as it will shed water from the ball.
